New SRL Member App rule(s)?

I was just wondering, shouldn't we have like a filter which blocks anyone from applying if they -

1) Been here for less than a month
2) Less than X amount of posts
3) Activity Bar < X

Just thoughts. Post improvements, it'll help cut off ALOT of spam applications.
Granted there are a few good ones such as eska's and it pains me to vote No :(

Sometimes I vote yes even on new peoples applications if I think they are good enough such as eska's.

I was thinking last night how difficult it is to get into SRL members now, I found a copy of the script that got me accepted in and quite frankly its terrible :P

Lmfao, tell me about it..
I submitted a half working script .___.
Sometimes I feel like just rescinding my Member status and reapplying xD

But on topic, eska's was good but activity is what concerns me..

this is a good idea to cut off some of the useless applications, but idk if it is really needed.
and i agree that the requirements for srl membership has gone up, Alot.
I remember that I applied with a powercutter, and it wasn't even that good ;)

I think the only thing needed is something to actually stop people reapplying before 1 month

If you're going to put in filters, there should be one so that people can't apply without a script. A lot of them usually write "No script, I'm not a scripter" where the script is supposed to be. Those are the most annoying :p

Yeah, add a filter that if it doesn't say ``Program" or ``{$DEFINE}" then block it.

Yeah this is a good idea. It shouldn't be too ridiculous, but something like 25 posts 1 month longevity and 25% activity would be fine imo since if someone applied with less then that then they would most likely be denied anyways.

Well I still like reading no scripts application sometimes. You know, sometimes they say that they're engineers and yet they apply with no scripts :(

Lol, I like this idea.

It's been brought up time and time again, and the answer is always 'no'.

I would also suggest the time limit being 6 months.

6 months is extreme. I think it was only a week between my apps and I still got in back in the day

I wish members is still what it was.
We dont want people who are willing to quit if theyre not willing to wait 6 months. I'm sitll figuring out how these forums are working and what people are like 4 years on

EDIT* 5 years

I agree. However 6 months is harsh. at most 2-3 months but not six. That's half a year of your life…

Edit: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78327

We need some sort of rule.

Like people with 1 or no posts not even being able to see that link? Because that's just stupid. All of those apps are going to get shot down.

I do agree that it really is hard. People have such high expectations. I know more is on the line (since the nuke) but I mean… come on.

I support removing the member's application button until you've been here a month. However, it should be very clear the requirements.

I strongly disagree with these suggestions.
This is the only way to judge an applicants attention to detail.
I vote no automatically for these mistakes.
