How do SRL Member Applications work?

Well, I finished up my script for Crafting all items. I havn't made a full version yet (full version supports Al-kharid too). For now it is just the lite version for public. The script seems to be working great, Has failsafes, uses dtm, sps walking, ODTM, Tpoint selection. But my question is, What makes you pass or fail the application? What are you judged by/graded on.

(also I used a function made by Flight [With his permission of course] Will that change anything?)

Thank you =)

Pretty much you apply, and are judged on your activity (not just the bar, just around in general), on your script, which from what you say seems passable, and more importantly, your attitude. As long as you have a decent script, which once again sounds like you do, feel free to apply and don't worry about not getting in, people won't hate you. And as long as you credit Flight, it won't be a problem.

An applicant is (roughly) judged on four things; attitude, ambitions, scripting knowledge and SRL library knowledge.

All of those four things can be broken into smaller parts, like if you are mentally stable or if you have a goal or if you know how to use arrays, if you know what failsafes are and etc.

For me, Attitude and ambitions are those that matter most, but I will not vote yes on an application where the user shows no SRL Member scripting abilities. Those abilities are (for me) the ability to use SRL in such a way that will 1. Do it's job, 2. Do it's job elegantly and 3. Will not get it's users banned.

If one uses DDTMs or SPS (or others) then that's an elegant way to figure out the player's position and a big positive, but if the entire player position check relies on one simple FindSymbol then that's a negative.

There are some "musts" to now-a-days scripts and those are 1. Multiplayer, 2. SMART comparability, 3. Failsafes, 4. Anti-randoms, 5. Humanness (no movemouse, clickmouse and so on) . If those criteria aren't met, then the chance of getting accepted are slim.

But, the thought-process of each SRL Member is unique.

Hey I use a few ClickMouse2(true); sometime, why is this so bad? Whats the difference between ClickMouse2(true) and Mouse(x, y, 0, 0, true) ??

To me it seems like it's the exact same thing, the mouse does not move so both are just a click.

I look for a few things, in a pretty simple order:

1) Postcount. 100-200+ ish range, depending on account age.
2) Account age. I vote usually vote no if the person hasn't been here for three months.
3) Custom object finding. If I see anything object finding copy and pasted from elsewhere (credit given or not), I vote no. If I see findobj or any of it's cousins, I vote no. TPA object finding is a huge plus
4) Semi-decent standards. I'm not one to care a ton about this, but I'm not reading your tabless shenanigans.
5) Complexity. It better be a downright amazing fletching bot if you think you can get in.
5.5) Unless it's a super complex task, walking should be used. Radial or TPA walking preferred, slight loss of "points" for SPS or ODTM
6) Code efficiency. Utilize loops, arrays, types, and whatever else you need to accomplish the task with as little waste as possible.
7) Attitude. You should have a positive attitude towards learning, and show this in your post. Even if you have all of the above, if you haven't got the attitude, then you probably won't go on to become a valuable asset to the community.

Basically, know and use your beans. Be impressive.

This is the completely wrong thread for this, but clickmouse2 clicks in the mouses current position. The mouse(x,y,0,0,true) will move to the original X and Y coordinate (basically, mouse moves, hovers, does whatever, then moves again and clicks, as opposed to move, hover, whatever, click)

Oh yeah that I know, I only use it when the mouse is where I want to click. Like when the mouse has already been moved to the good location using Mouse() with randomisation, and that after doing some upText checking, I need to press the mouse. (re-moving the mouse would be very unhuman like)

and sorry for posting here about this here, I just happened to see you talking about that and I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Seems like I'm not doing anything wrong after all.

Well, here is my situation. I have a BA in CSIT and havn't been around the forums much until recently. I started scripting for RSbuddy when it first was released and After they shut down I needed something to keep me busy so I came back to where it all started and enjoy this community much more than RSbuddy. I plan on sticking around but the only problem I have is the fact that I hate failing. If I apply assuming I'm ready and have the knowledge and the capability of being a SRL member, and fail. I will most Likely give up because I get discouraged. I obviously didn't put every bit of my knowledge into the script and putting the entirety of the SRL library would just make it complicated and difficult to understand and useless. I do my best to keep in simple but also safe to use at the same time. Obviously anti-ban is a must. I ran the script through hours of testing and if it fails twice it resets and makes another attempt. So I'm really doing my best and hope by the end of the night I'll be done with my testing and submit.

Thanks for the replies guys.
