I haven't played very much since the Dung update way long ago, and frankly the skill seems like a boring waste of time to me. I do, however, want to get the use of coal bags and some other nifty things like resource dungeons.
Now, since none of my friends play RS any more, getting a party to dung isn't going to happen. It also doesn't help that the skill is so hard to write a bot for :p.
So basically, is it worth the boredom to train dung?

I never trained it and I am still comfortable with it. It is only worth to train it if you want one of these item you can get from it like chaotic wep or some items to help you leveling some skills like scroll of cleansing, but You can play this game without this skill.
Yes. I liked Dunging as it worked on all skills somewhat. Also managed to gain two 99's within and actually fun doing legit when you got the team.
My experience…

Chaotic weapons, rigour prayer, extra items (arcane stream, coal bag, herbicide, etc…) and the resource dungeons (frost dragons) are all very very useful and help a lot in the game.
Once you learn to efficiently dungeoneer then the skill is actually pretty fun, especially with a skype/vent team.

Dung is the only skill I've never botted tbh. Good skill for f2p and p2p pkers.

Dung is a really great skill since it's nothing boring since it's not always the same. It just long to train but at the end, when u have a chaotic, it's going to be worth it.

Chaotics are and will remain the best melee weps for a while.. totally worth it if you can get some friends that know what they are doing

I love to key dungs, (gets annoying with idiots though). I like the challenge of trying to complete it the fastest possible.
