Powerbot is back!

Jokester

2012-03-16 18:07:15

Just finally released today! It is closed source apparently so Jagex can't go through it and undo all their hard work(Its really so we can't see the viruses). They only released the client apparently with all the hooks and that junk. IT WILL NOT RUN ANY SCRIPTS YET. The only thing it lets you do is login and see that it works. Apparently they are just finishing up the final touches and will release it with the functionality to run scripts "very soon". So everyone download it and login so they can steal your password with their amazing bot!(That does not run any scripts? Lol)

The bot complies with all laws in the UK and should abide by all laws in most other countries also.

Here is the link to follow the progress of the bot: http://renatusbot.com

New update!: Should be released in about 9 hours (Can someone confirm if it has been fully released yet? My laptop is MIA atm…)

What do you guys think about it going closed source and Powerbot in general?

I think they are hedging their bets.
1. If Jagex's Optimus shut them down they will have a huge payday, denial and pass the blame. Cycle starts again, just like OCT. 25th.

2. If they somehow able to stay ahead of Jagex, then business as usual.

People are actually very dumb at these forums, stop thinking every other bot client is a threat. Simba scripts can be actually worst if they put a password sending script in there.

Every other bot client that isn't open source(which is all of them!) IS considered a threat by anyone that is over the age of 12.

We can't put a password sender in any scripts without anyone noticing. Actually i doubt you could actually get a script to send account info.

You actually could do that but we also have security extensions that prevent this. IMO SIMBA is hands down a 1000% safer than any client will ever be.

Yeah i used pb before i came here as well, like you said the community was terrible. There were so many conspiracy's on that forum it was ridiculous. So many mods stealing from ad money etc. And i remember that time that ghost guy hacked into pb and replaced it with a keylogger to jack everyones accounts. Anyways i dont think powerbot are going to develop a reflection bot, i downloaded the dev release they had and it doesnt even get past the rs starting sign. I think they are doing exactly what epic bot are doing and phishing as many accounts as they can to then go on to selling all the rsgp to make as much money as they can before ending it. A new reflection bot would take at least 10 months to develop. I wouldnt trust their links if i were you, powerbot died with jacmob

They actually have been working on this bot since the bot nuke in October… so that's 6 months so far. Thousands of people were raging on the forums that they couldn't wait any longer, pbot can go die, i'm going to kill myself if it isn't released today… etc… It's just an all around horrible community. And like you said there are so many conspiracies about mods there it's ridiculous!

pb has always been the best non-color bot and the only time anyone got hacked from using it was when gh0st replaced it with a virus.. (btw gh0st was on the rare bot dev team)

akuenpb

2012-03-17 21:32:43

Powerbot/RsBot has been around for a long time. The reason? They make a damn good bot that's safe. I've only started to use Simba recently but so far it doesn't have the scripts that I want/the scripts don't work properly. I've only downloaded a few scripts so far though(woodcutting and fighting). I've said this on the Powerbot forums and I'll say it here too: Epicbot and RsBot/Powerbot do no hack you. I've used them both for over a year and never had issues. Anyone who claims they were hacked by them either had a dud client (Gh0st hack/downloaded from non-official source) or were phished through an email or something else. The numbers saying they've been hacked by these bots are far outweighed by the numbers saying they've never had an issue. Oh and the new Powerbot is injection not reflection. It's 100% legal too so jagex can't even sue them like they've been threatening to. My understanding of how injection bots work would imply that it's going to be fairly difficult for jagex to update them out of existence.

Im glad you dont know what you are talking about. INJECTION is illegal because it changes the client. they can and will sue them for it. And please explain what your knowledge of "how injection bots work" is. Powerbot was injection last time as well, and it clearly was removed for quite awhile, so dont go saying they cant remove it, when clearly theyve showed they can

Injection bots read the code and where that code is on the screen and by knowing that information it moves the mouse to that area where the "object" is and clicks on it depending on what the script tells it to do and when to do it. They don't change anything you moron. All they do is read what's already there. That's why they're NOT illegal. Learn more before you comment.

replace every injection you said with reflection and you might be more accurate….

just think about the names………..
reflection-reflects back information
injection-injects information

trust me i know more about this than you, but way less than most members here.

Ehhh someone's clearly explained it wrongly to me then. Either way I know that Powerbot double checked that their client was going to be legal. They've had confirmation that (in the UK at least) it's 100% legal and Jagex can't do anything about it other then ban the accounts.

You must not reverse-engineer, decompile or modify any Jagex Product client software in any way (except to the extent allowed by applicable law). You must not use a modified/customised version of the client software or attempt to sub-license it. You must not create or provide any other means by which any Jagex Product may be played by others (including, without limitation, replacement or modified client/server software, server emulators). Please note that any such activity may constitute civil wrongs and/or criminal offences, and Jagex reserves the right to take such action as appropriate in the circumstances should it become aware that such offences are being committed.

I'm just stating what the general consensus is. Law's a funny thing because things are never as cut and dried as they seem.

EDIT: After asking a few people, what I've gathered is the reason it took Powerbot/RsBot so long to come back was they spent the first few months sorting out the legal side of things. RSBot is a registered company which would mean that Powerbot devs could face jail time. So you can pretty much guarantee that if there was a loophole, they've found it.

Actually you're kind of wrong about that. For instance, in America they have the Double Jeopardy law which means you can not be tried for the same crime twice. So if they try you for killing someone and find you not guilty and it turns out that person's still alive they can not try you again for killing them. Even though it is against the law to commit murder. There is always a loophole. Especially when it comes to things like TOS. The law is only black and white when you're too stupid/your lawyer is unable to see the gray areas.

wister1

4sure

2012-03-18 14:33:13

Whether or not pb found a loophole is irrelevant, as 1) a client that doesn't run scripts is probably just a keylogger, and 2) Jagex isn't stupid when it comes to lawsuits. Look at Nexus.

Seriously though, a closed-source .jar? That's not asking for a virus. /rollseyes

Breaking the TOS is not illegal. But you are modifing jagex products which is illegal. Pretty sure that Paris will get a law suit very soon from jagex.

They added a new note which makes any decrypt of their products illegal.

double jeopardy is bad sometimes lol. Oh well, a necessary evil?

Don't get me wrong I think in that case it is REALLY messed up. But if someone was tried for a crime they didn't commit and proven not guilty then they couldn't be tried again and again and again until it turns out that particular time they are found guilty.

While they cannot be tried for that crime of killing the person again, chances are they will be investigated and someone will find an excuse to try him again. Companies that sue people take them to court over and over again till they win… and I think double jeopardy applies their too. Always an excuse lol

Im assuming he can be charged for 1st degree murder, then if found not guilty be charged for 2nd or 3rd?

and EVR!!!!

Joke, he cannot be charged for the same crime. The courts need to find another crime(and with laws nowadays its not hard >.>) and try him for that. They then bring up some evidence against him from the last case, and the jury hates him and votes guilty. He will be sentenced based on the new crime, and not the previous murder though

Edit: fixed double post. D=

You don't get his example… I think it was in a movie…

  1. Man is believe to have killed someon
  2. Man is tried for murder
  3. Man is declared not guilty
  4. Person is found alive
  5. Man kills the person
  6. Man cannot be tried again for the same crime

I think it was in a movie. Anyways I don't have a side in this issue, just some thoughtful insight.

New charges are Man slaughter in the first degree, assault with deadly weapon, criminal conspiracy etc etc. consecutive sentences, say goodbye to 50 years.
