Just logged in for a bot account, and there was this pop up saying; "Sorry your name is no longer in use, please select another one." …Ok?

I entered the same name, but with small letters. So now that is my name. Any idea what this was about?

Maybe your name was offensive? (You can report people for offensive account name)

I've heard of names expiring but am not so sure about it being true you can search that up.

Happened to me too, had an account named, p33n0r. Don't ask me why, or how I obtained it…. However the exact same thing happened.

I saw his name changed to K O N Y 2012 on the highscores list last week. Now it's back to what it was. Even rune track mentioned the change on their page when you searched for him.

Ah yeah, I just rune-tracked him and it does mention the name change. Very very peculiar. I look at HS every day and I must've just not seen it. I wonder what is Jagex's reason though for the whole changing his name back, it's not like that was offensive in any way, shape or form to anyone.

Think about how many people look at his score everyday. It would pretty much be mass advertising…

Lmao, I highly doubt they took it down because of advertising purposes. This thing has been blown out of proportion in so many different places(including my own Facebook for the love of god) and I just think they didn't want to have any type of chatter or arguments on forums/in-game about it. Advertising is something they can't even stop in-game so I doubt that was the reason.

Let's look at this realistically, who really would care if he's being offended or not. More than half of RuneScape's users are 12 year old's which have no idea what is going on in the real world. What really could have happened is just his name got reported so many times from people wanting it gone, JaGeX got sick of it, so they removed it.

I don't see why not… my name wasn't offensive. But I was actually p2p. Worth a shot?

everyone i got an idea!!!!! all join my fc host pez and report the dr who guy, its got 3 degits on the end, if everyone who has viewed this thread did it i would have 140, jagex would surely make my change after that right?

Double post ^ and getting a bunch of botters together to report you is probably a bad idea.. if Jagex saw this thread then they will probably just ban everyone that reports you for botting.
