How to keep from getting hacked!

So, I've been seeing ALOT of threads about People getting hacked.

"Omgz! I lost 20m! I'm going to die!" Pfft. Get over it.

Some ways you can get hacked (One of them I fell victim to.)

1. Downloading shit that isn't going to work.. A RSGP gererator is only a keylogger, or a trojan. You'll lose your account, and have a bad virus on your pc.

2. Lending you account to someone you don't know, or don't trust.
People you CAN trust,
Your friends, Admins, MSI devs, Members+, some scripters(That have good rep, you should talk to some of their friends (Trustworthy people, Tell me if I'm wrong on this, Please.))

3. Don't download shit off of mediafire, like, say, a bot with all PRO scripts leaked. Also has a keylogger of Trojan, and you lose your account. If you're going ot download Epicbot, the go to www.epicbot.com. (I use them right now, as I don't like how buggy Rarebot is..) But, both are trustworthy. I have used them both, and have not lost my account.

4. Don't forget to take out your passwords and stuff from the scripts you write! (This is the one I fell victim too! It sucks!)

5. Don't go to any link you don't trust, and type in your account details, this method is called Phishing. It is a very common method to lose ANY account details, or card numbers.. Or identity.

Now that you're educated on how to keep your account safe, stop making threads about it.

Cheers!

I don't believe many, if any have actually been "hacked" of their account, simply falling victim to being idiotic schemes. Everything you listed should be common sense and none of it involves the individual being "hacked", simply their account stolen.

Just sayin' I'd change the name to "How to keep your account secure" or something along those lines.

Nonetheless, I guess it's a decent "guide" to someone that knows nothing about keeping their account secure, or is under the age of 10.

As well, tusting people online is a grave mistake - I don't care who it is - and you should trust very few.. I've dealt with 100's of people (if not thousands) and to this day I've met 3 individuals whom I trust.

PS. I'd add Phishing to the list.

I once forgot to remove my password and username from a script, i send it to the author so he could help me make it work, lucky for me he was an honest guy and he send me a message back that i forgot that i send it, and he changed the password incase i messed up somewhere else, nice to know that there's honest people out there :) note that this was only a registered user

You'd be surprised how much a bank pin helps…

Pretty much account security boils down to being careful on the net, the majority of people that get hacked usually find the reason is due to a phishing site, a dodgy download or som other stupidity that comes form lack of care on the internet.

A good way to avoid this is the act like everyone that you don't know might be out to get your details… (at least as far as links and downloads go).
One of the more interesting methods of getting people to go on phishing sites is to have say Runescape.com that linking to the phishing site.

If you have any of your details at all on any other site , there is a site called bugabuse.net , they are a glitching and account recovery community, have a bank pin set( I lost a lot to one of the members on this site who for some reason remains an active member here, ip address and a confession from him is not enough to have him removed or to have him repay the amount he took, well over 1b in items and cash)

Back to the point they recover a lot of accounts every day, so be careful never to use your rsn an password anywhere else, I may compile a guide in regards to this, any member who wishes to help me compile this guide feel free to pm your input
