That is geared towards selling 'Premium' scripts that are, of course, used for autoing Runescape. What would be the risk? Could I have myself thrown in jail or a lawsuit slapped in my face?

Any information would be nice, thanks in advance. :)

Depends on the type of scripts simba is fine, reflection would get you a lawsuit.

It would be with color only. It's just that since I'd be making a profit if I do decide to do that some time in the future, I am unsure of what happens then. Being non profit and using color only is one thing. But to make a profit, I'm not sure.

Reflection or not, as soon as you make a profit off of Jagex's game, you paint a big red bulls-eye on your back for Jagex's legal team.

I actually read some of the legal papers against impsoft yesterday.
They two big things they got sued for were reflection/copywrite infringement and using Jagex/Runescape images on their site, and even just MENTIONING Runescape!

So all color, don't use jagex/Runescape/images at all.

And maybe say RS instead of Runescape and encore it strictly!

Besides that you SHOULD be relatively safe.

Also remember impsoft accounted for a VAST majority of the ingame botters I highly doubt you will get anywhere near as big as they were so you should be fine.

Impsoft got raped in the butt because of that lawsuit, why even risk legal action? Find a legal way to make money :P

Keep scripting as a hobby, and don't become greedy… Try starting a legit EBAY buisness Mate, I made quite a bit so far from that.

This isn't a 'For sure' thing, of course. I just wanted to make sure I don't end up in jail or being sued for everything I have if I do decide to do the plan.

Any suggestions as to what I could do to prevent being sued or anything? I know this probably isn't the best place to ask since most of you are against making profit from scripting, but I figure I could at least get a little hint as to what I could do.

RISK, from rumors and stuff I heard, they still ended up with a lot of money/profit even after all of the fees, it's mind boggling how much they made….

I think it's pretty sketchy, host it in china if you do :D

Probably the fact that post bot nuke two things will be very different and people may be attempting the same thing, using Simba and selling private scripts for their gain, who knows.

You can remain completely anonymous when setting up your site and selling. You could make it very difficult for them to catch you ;)

If you do do it, you could make some dough, however for the risk, is it worth it? If you ever have to declare bankruptcy, your credit is smashed for the rest of your life.

why set up a website when you can still get sufficient sales selling on various forums. It's easier to market when selling on forums since buyers will find it much easier to find your sales threads. Also its much easier to build up a good reputation

This, Jagex is more likely to target a larger website then sales thread on a forum anyway IMO.

Not sure what country you're from but "rest of your life" is NOT the case in USA.

I don't think there's any legit legal action that could be taken (unless you use their images and maybe refer to their name).

However, I know in different markets, there's significant barriers to entry to the market because the big companies can just screw with you. In this way, I think Jagex could just threaten whoever with legal action and court, and of course we possibly don't have money for lawyer fees or even want to risk it (I think if you win, then the other side pays your lawyer fees). I mean, even the notion that they'd take you to court would be a big hassle, so they could theoretically shut you down, ez game.
