SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hello everyone! My name is Nate and my username is pronounced osu-nate-osu…You would be surprised how many people mistake it for a Japanese word and try to pronounce it as one whole word. The osu in my username stands for Oklahoma State, which has always been my favorite college ever since I was a kid. I'm 19 years and and attending a local community college right now because I get tuition for free for two years (hard to turn that down!) and I plan on going to Ok State after a couple of years. I obviously live in the state of Oklahoma.

Before coming here I was apart of the RSBuddy community before they faceplanted. While I was at RSBuddy I bought a few premium scripts and used those. The reason I am really excited about coming to this community is the opportunity to learn how to script. While was RSBuddy my dream was to make my own script, which I attempted serveral times but just didn't understand how to do it and didn't have the resources to learn it on my own. I've heard many great things about this community and I'm seriously very excited about the prospect of learning to make my own scripts!

If you have any questions feel free to ask away! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully learning how to script!

P.S.: I know very little about scripting except for a few things I've read about it, but I am VERY determined to learn how to do it.

Ahh that was a great game! I had told my friends before the bowl games started that A&M was the greatest 6-6 team in college football history! I would be worried about revenge, but ya'll had to run off to the SEC. Can't really blame you because of that Longhorn Network. As for the Fiesta Bowl, thank the Lord that kicker choked! Andrew Luck was shredding our D all game!

Thanks P1nky! As I said before, can't wait to learn how to script and make my own scripts! I've always been way into computers, but have never really gotten in programming and scripting and such, which is why I'm so excited to be here! Might sound cliche, but it always truly has been a goal of mine to build my own script and as I said I attempted to make on while at RSBuddy, but I was so inexperienced that I couldn't comprehend the resources that I had. I'm basically starting from scratch, but hey everybodys gotta start somewhere!

Thanks Bam Bam! And there is only 100% truth in your statement about this being a great place to learn about scripting! I looked at a youtube video by YoHoJo for absolute beginners and have already learned a ton, and the great thing is that I'm loving it! I've gotta go to class, but I promise you when I get home I'll be moving on to the next video ready to learn more!

Welcome mate. Don't be too eager to move on. Ensure you understand the fundamentals before moving on to a new tutorial. This will allow you to get the best understanding of programming and scripting so you don't make too many mistakes or get bad habits later on.

Thanks Jagex! Right Now I'm trying to take it pretty slow and just following it step by step and making sure I actually understand what I'm doing like you said! I'm just ready to learn, but I'll take my time. I'll probably have alot of questions along the way haha.

I like your attitude, not to mention you kind of share my name - (Mine is Nathan, people I know call me Nate IRL) - so that's cool, I think euphemism (another member here) is also from Oklahoma..

My real name is actually Nathan, but most of my friends call me Nate so that's what I go with. Oddly enough though when someone asks me what name I go by I just tell them either, I respond to both. I actually have one set of friends that call me Nate and some other friends that call me Nathan haha.

The guys are there to chat. If the regulars are online then it may take a few minutes. I always manage to get myself an answer. But if there is an active online mod or high rank then you get a quick response.

If anything, you can always post in the help section and you'll get a response just remember to search before posting.
