Hey can you guys tell me what tutorials/steps you started with that gave you enough insight to code your own scripts?

Example: Yohojo's videos—>dtm tutorial—>advanced something tutorial.

Looking through the Function List within Simba might be a good resource.

awesome, thanks for the feedback guys. I've tried to look through people's scripts, i guess i should take tootallmatt's step first.

i extremilly suggest you start out with this set of tuts especially the ones made by fuzz. They will teach you the basics of scar so you really know what you are doing :D this is what I did a couple weeks ago and im writing scripts now :D (havnt released any hehe im a perfectionist :stirthepot:) but yes then definitly look into Yohojos first rs script vid tut and then basically go from there using the tuts that you need to implement whatever you may need. I started by playing with and fixing someone's broken script.

I did that too and I read threw a few tutorial like Demise DTM tutorial to find out how to fix it and it lead me to be able to script by myself.

Every tutorial in the beginners section -> intermediate section -> trying my own script -> making more scripts -> advanced section -> few more scripts -> SRL Membership -> more scripts -> more learning :p

I'll tell you exactly what I did to learn how to script, it may or may not help you.

I'd recommend reading the beginner and intermediate sections of Coh3n's All-in-One scripting tutorial. With that information you can make a basic script such as alchemy or fletching. Have a look at other people's scripts to learn how to use some of the built in SRL functions (Such as BankScreen, ChooseOption, FindObjCustom, Etc). Read Mat's guide on SPS walking so you can make scripts that require moving. Constantly look over other people's scripts to learn more and more of the built in functions. after that you could probably write an intermediate script such as a Al-kharid cooker or Air Runecrafter (Something of that nature). From there it's all about practice practice practice, Learning how to use ATPAs, and beyond.

Edit: forgot to mention that watching YoHoJo's tutorials can be a great tool for beginners to see the process of making a script step-by-step.
