Anndddd I'm somehow hacked again....

PatDuffy

2012-02-28 17:00:01

Well, logged in just now, noticed the IP wasn't mine and SS'ed it….cleaned again.

I had changed my password from the last time I was hacked, and I had changed the recoveries too, just in case. I KNOW I am not RAT'd or Keylogged, I have run NO programs that I was 100% sure were safe.

Conveniently already in number form.

So yea….I have no idea this time. I know the last time it was Hero's fault….and I changed EVERYTHING after that to be safe….what a shame too. I had already rebuilt up to 35m after the last hacking and now I'm left empty. At least all of my untradeables were kept, and they even left me a vine whip :p

E: Going to run a complete virus scan using several different programs just to double-check that I'm clean. I haven't allowed any Java applets to run or downloaded anything at all….pisses me off.

Someone ddos that IP!

I'm more curious about how this happened than about the pixels, I mean they are just pixels.

Might be possible that I was recovered? IDK.

Mother fucking Chinese.

Have fun with the 15$ they stole, maybe they can feed a family for a month.

E: Double checked my downloads, I haven't downloaded anything other than simba script in the past 3 months :p

E2: Eh, time to forget about money in that game at all, going to focus on power-skilling.

2012-02-28 17:19:33

So peculiar that you haven't downloaded anything in the last little while, however it could be some sort of malware?

Magiic

2012-02-28 17:37:26

Do you have an email attached? They send an email if you try and get recovered AFAIK. But it's unlikely, your password would be changed and the hacker would have to know it to be able to change it back, why would they bother anyway? The only way it's happened is you're infected (or someone watched you type in your password :P). You haven't left it in a script, surely?
EDIT: Some Drive-by's don't need you to approve them, they're called exploits for a reason.

2012-02-28 17:37:34

perhaps it was from a java drive by?

Bonfield

2012-02-28 18:05:16

When was the last time you reformatted your computer, can you do that? At least that will get rid of any RATs you dont think you have

Kyle Undefined

2012-02-28 18:08:37

Wow, that sucks! I'd suggest a reformat like Bonfield said.

Noooo… I hate hackers with a passion.

PatDuffy

2012-02-28 18:19:46

Eh, I'll just reformat…

I haven't visited any sketchy sites…although I know sometimes legitimate sites can be used for drive-by's….but I haven't gone anywhere runescape related besides here and Sythe….

Surprised no one picked up on how ironic this was (most likely a joke however).

DDOS an IP cause of an infection using a botnet that is gotten from infecting other people.

Thanks for the offer Kyle.

I really don't want help though :p I have the skills I need to get back whatever was lost, I don't even want to have money anymore, just level up skills.

On a side note, looks like I'm not allowed to rage on a thread about myself getting hacked. I'll just sit quietly in my corner and not have an opinion on anything.

Not necessarily, if you have multiple machines/connections that you can access without infection you could fairly easily set up a DoS on each :') Or use shells, same deal really. <- Sound like a dick, I see the irony really
It's funny cause it's a proxy though.

when you guys lookup IP's use ARIN and in this case it tells you it belongs to APNIC.. these are the highest level leasers of IP addresses for different sections of the world so you can get all the info possible

So you don't think that was the real IP?

@PatDuffy:
Did you have a PIN on the account? I know it's a bit late now but I'd suggest putting away all your valuables before logging out each time. That way if someone gets their hands on your account atleast your bank is protected.

I also agree with the power-leveling. I've had horrible luck (literally 0% win rate) at the dueling arena since around the time of the bot nuke. I absolutely cannot catch a break, so now I'm very, very low on cash. I've decided it's more important for now to just aim for higher levels.

PatDuffy

2012-02-28 22:09:15

Nope Flight…it couldn't have happened at a worse time :p

I had literally 1 day left before my new PIN became active. I had changed it from what it was before the incident with Hero as a precaution…so it took 3 days for it to be deactivated then another 6 for my new PIN to become active.

Oh well. Going to be doing a lot of script testing I once deemed below my income level :p

The virus scans I did last night caught and removed 3 viruses and 3 trojans… I really do not feel like re-formatting so I'm going to test the waters for a few days.

E: Just remembered I had over 6k slayer points saved up in case something like this ever happened….lmfao. I'm so glad I left all of these little cash-piles everywhere for myself. Nobody ever checks Miscellania, Slayer Masters, and all of the other money-storage areas.

E2: Just realized that my slayer helmet was dissembled…but not my vine-whip? Wow…hackers suck at hacking these days.

Looks fine, might want to update IE to v9. Even if you don't use it the older version could be exploited & MS has it so integrated into Windows.

If you're still paranoid you can check for rootkits with http://www.gmer.net/
