I am so sick of this...

Why the hell are we putting up with so much garbage around the forums? There are so many users here that shouldn't even be around simply due to their attitude towards us, SSRL, administrators, and so on.

I mean, we're here putting our own time towards something that we feel would be an asset to releasing to the public, yet we're still getting nagged on because the scripts are nothing like those which they used in the past. I'm simply astounded by the fact that these children, lets call them, even have it in their minds to dare complain about the solution of botting which this community has brought forward to them while their beloved reflection has been down.

Personally, if I was in a position of authority, I'd take the time to infract each and every one of them solely based on the level of disrespect which has literally been thrown at us ever since reflection has been down. Why are we being disrespected if we were the only thing still alive during this time? Why should we put up with their shit?

I think we should be able to delete comments on our OWN threads.
for instance, I'm not going to release something to the public and get swamped with this bs.
"y no perfect?"

Yeah, it'd be nice if we were given the ability to at least soft delete posts in our own threads, not hard delete like super moderators are able to.

sorry, could you tell me what you mean?

Soft delete just deletes a post to where it can be viewed by any with the ability to do so, mostly moderator+'s. A hard delete 'Physically' removes the post completely to where it is unrecoverable.

When you edit your own post and press the 'Delete' button, it is soft deleting it. So it can be viewed and recovered by moderator+'s or any other user group with that permission granted.

I think that should be able to do that, would make it easier if someone goes I have added this: Blah and people message him going gimmie gimmie and he/she does.

This sounds like a good idea actually, especially due to the fact that it'd be done in such a way such that it is on our own threads. I actually like the idea.

Sad thing is, no matter what you do to implement a way to help control this, it won't stop. I've completely given up by this point, there are a select few that I can't stand and don't even see why they're here.

I have to agree with Kyle.
But that's how it goes :) There is really nothing we can do (SSRL's) Expect ban some absolute assholes. Other than that our powers are limited.

You can also bring it to the attention of higher power users (admins, mods) Just saying..

EDIT: I also like the soft delete idea

Anyone can do that if they click the report button on posts. That way the administrators pretty much immediately see it and act accordingly.

No, you guys shouldn't be getting that option other than SSRL members. As useful as it sounds, it is not good and will just make people go "zomgcensorz". Report rule breaking posts and such.

Just ignore them. Mess up their rep if they are obscenely stupid and rude.

FUCK YEAH :spot::spot::spot::spot:

It's about context really, because if people say it when it's not aimed at anyone (like yours) then it's fine. But some younger members might find it offensive when it's aimed at them.

Realistically it's at the infractors' (word?) discretion. But yeah, probably should be amended given that many higher ranks do it too.

On location/use of word will be confusing for new members, if they cannot figure out how to post correctly the chances they will understand language use is slim.

I also absolutely hate new users who don't even know the etiquette of posting in the forums. All those people who post in the wrong section for request/help should be warned/infracted. They should learn to do the right thing in the right place before getting help.

This is the list of 'infractable' offenses:
Backseat Modding, Begging for Rep Points, Buying/Selling, Gravedigging, Inappropriate Language, Posting in all CAPS, Posting Warez, Signature Rule Violation, Spam, Spammed Advertisements, Triple Posting, Violating Script Restrictions, Insulted Other Member(s), Plagiarism, Spamming into Junior Members, Spam Bot [InstaBan]

The spam infraction is the only one I see which is even close to relevant to posting in the wrong section.

I feel that rep doesn't mean a single thing around here, especially with the new users. They don't give a flying f*ck, as none of them have any intentions in obtaining positive rep. So they do as they please…

I am not asking for SSRL member benefits here, or SSRL member powers. But I mean… come on, there's some idiots around here that really should just be banned so they get that big wake up call, and hopefully some of them will say to themselves "oh wait a second, I was a retard and really shouldn't have said what I said, and instead approached the manner differently."

E:
And also, not to point fingers at any SSRL Members, but who is to say that even they are following all infraction protocol? I am sure some infractions/deleted posts have been done without following the rules which have been previously stated by BamBam.

EE(I really should stop doing this):
All I really want from most new members, or most members rather, is a little respect. I mean, we're doing this as a fun thing, we like programming, we like seeing an end result in what we do. It is not a chore, as some make it out to be. We aren't getting paid in any way, shape, or form, other than with intelligence and experience. They need to realize that.

Most of the people out there don't give a flying eff about how much effort the script authors put in in order to come up with a nice script. Just check the requests section. Most requests are like I need this … to work and the other … scripts are 100% broken. Like they're the bosses and we're their workers.

This level of disrepect towards script writers is disappointing.
