SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hello,

So I've been playing Runescape for around 6-7 years now since Runescape Classic and have gone through everything you can imagine and was into USING basic scripts at the time but quit the game a while back due to how it was turning (trolls) but I have now returned and gone over to the dark side :sasmokin: and will hopefully be contributing towards scripting and helping to fix other peoples issues when possible.

I don't have any scripting background but I can read through script and know the basics of what is going on although I just don't fully understand the language yet for e.g includes, var, , functions etc… I know like includes are to include these files within the script like the source of the code and functions are part of the includes to run and var are variables within that but there is lots that I need to learn and I'm just hoping I can pick it up quickly and be able to create some sweet scripts for you people to use.

You will definitely be able to pick it up. Sounds like you have a decent foundation to build off of. Read some of the beginners tuts then most of the intermediate tuts. I enjoyed YoHoJo's video tutorials the most. With the resources here you'll be making great scripts in no time.

Random stuff: I've been playing rs about as long you or longer as you and have really started to hate the game because of immature little kids being… kids. Such terms as "jelly" "bro(not so much)" "troll" and pretty much any "meme" talk makes me so aggravated I just want to quit. Then I turn off public and all my feelings of hatred go away. I really want to blame things such as 4chan but really I can only blame the people who think it's cool to be stupid.

And learn you shall! If I had to guess I'd say the majority of the community here doesn't go back as far as the Classic days, but you'll find there's a few of us also from the stone age. Some of us started off in Kaitnieks, I believe YoHoJo & BenLand are among these? I myself started out in RuneCMS, long long before RS2 (or even Sythe for that matter).

Anywho, you're among friends here. :) We're all here for a common cause. Most of us still learning (especially me, ha). I believe the language should be fairly simple to pick up. There's a ton of tutorials and huge sums of example scripts floating all around; hit 'em hard! Welcome to SRL, my friend! :)
