You can do a lot about this situation. Start some hobby? No need to be some sport, but som hobby would work pretty good, you will meet new people and practise your social skills.

I think it's pretty huge step to say that. You can always PM me.

Hobby is def something to look into. Even if all you do is play video games there is probably some kind of video game club or group you could get hooked up with in your area. Are you still in High School? Do you go to college?

I don't really know if I am too qualified to give advice here, but at the start of freshman year in highschool I knew I was not the best athlete. I am a good runner, I can dodge and can catch, I can jump. I joined track stayed with it for 3 years got my varsity letter met a lot of new friends that are truly some of good friends.

I then realized I love computers and it is my passion; I joined a lot of computer classes met a lot of other people and I can honestly say they are my best friends sure they are not really athlete nor are they very popular but when we all get together and send mass messages to everyone in the school just because… It is a great time that I would rather do over pretending to fit in elsewhere. My girlfriend doesn't mind either, she actually supports that fact that I hang out with people with similar interests.

Don't worry about your image, be yourself and do what you love to do! you will find people.

Play dungeons and dragons, it's just like runescape, but you do it with friends :)

I agree with the hobby suggestions. I myself am teaching myself to play a little guitar. Get active and go do exercises daily, go jogging / biking or whatever, that usually helps put your state of mind somewhere more positive.

or, just take a workout class or something maybe even go to your local "recruiter" station and workout with them once a week. I used to do that, was amazing workouts. They kind of make you feel bad though, but once you finish you feel like gold.

Have you even considered that he has tried making friends? Some people just can't make friends instantly out of thin air. You want to know why? Because they aren't your fucking friends. Friendships take time to create. Not something you just pull out of your ass like your comment.

Oh yea, there are people who don't have problems making 'buds' but making friends is on a whole other spectrum. I understand that because I am slightly paranoid of allowing other people into my life. I love to talk to others but when people call or text me to hang out and I don't really know them I shut down. I always wonder what they may do to me so I have a fear of the unknown.

I have few friends. I feel very bad about it sometimes, but I think I am used to it.

That's why I troll on the forums hoping for someone to talk to me :(

There are so many things that can solve your problem. The best thing to do, is make some new friends. Find people that have the same hobby's as you.

Find something offline that interests you and meet other people who also enjoy it. For example, I find emergency service(firefighting / EMT) to be my favorite interest and I attended fire academy and currently work in the city doing it. I meet people daily and absolutely love it. During the fall/winter months when you start getting lack of natural light(the sun), you can get whats known as 'SAD'(seasonal annual depression). Perhaps you should look more into it. I have this same problem. I wish I would go and do more things with people I'm newly acquainted with, but it's awkward. Also, like you said, I guess I fear what they'll do. But I'm definitely the same way, I can talk to anyone but the minute they ask to hang out I'm like uhhhhh, because I guess I'm picky with who I'm friends with and who I associate with? Idk. I don't think of it as a bad problem…bc I feel sometimes it could save you from some sticky situations.

Im pretty sure a lot of runescapers can relate to this, me myself I used to have friends coming in for me all the time to get me out however I would always make up excuses to stay in and tell them I was busy when really I wasn't instead I just wanted to spend more time on runesccape grinding and shit, this eventually led to the point my friends stopped coming in for me and it seems as if I had alienated everyone around me.

I also developed some sort of social anxiety where it is hard for me to start conversations with people simply because I am scared if the topic isn't relevant to there interest or in case they just don't wana talk.

But I realise now that all of this was totally my own fault, I still blame runescape as the reason why I still have my virginity.

I have been affected by SAD.

You can even talk with tohers find common interests, get a hobby like some others said. Go to public sites to play socer with others…. It's easy to get friends (but hard to get good friends), you just need to want :P

If you live near others: Grow a garden that isn't fenced in so milfs can come by and say "oh, what lovely tomatoes. May I please have some? I would also like your red throbbing…" nevermind. Gardening is a cool hobby.
