Hello Everyone, My name is Marc-André. I am applying for becoming a Member. I am going to give you info about who I am and What I did So far in Runescape. Just to set it off, English isn't my first language, I am a French Canadian, so sorry if I do mistakes, but I try my best to write as perfect as possible.

Community: I was in a community before(Ibot), but I took a Break for 1 years and I came back January and Found out Jagex did came to their end. As for this, I Decided to play legit, but I soon discover that the few skills I disliked so much are still at the same state back from 1 years break, So I Decided I would need to find another community Where I could Script and Contribute to help people lvl theses skills that they hate so much like me. That's how I found this Website And I am happy because it looks like people aren't here to ruin this game like it was on Ibot where people were using more than 15+ accounts at the same time. I never really understand the point. I only have one account and I only bot on him ( my main), but yeh, it seems like they were all dreaming to make money out of this game…

Who I am? Well, As you can see, I have not even been on this forum for more than 1 month, but I am not also the Kind to post on Threads or do anything like that. I am a scripter. I use most of my time to scripts or trying to make my scripts better or Trying to find better way to make it more effective a script. So, I don't have many posts and in 2 years, If I reach the 200 posts count, it will be Good. Most of the time, When I post, It is to answer people that post on Thread of Scripts I posted.

What I am doing? Well, I have 19 years old, I am in college in a Course where I learn how to Program and I will be soon going to University. I have big interest in Video Games, but I don't have much time to Play them, so I like to script things that does the boring job, so when I play, I can do the fun part of this game which mean playing and not raising some stupid skills like mining… I will never understand people that tell me mining is fun, My answer is always: mehhhhh, I am sure you botted it to 99 because I don't see how you can like this skill… As for my personal time, I go Read threads and look into Script to find How people get Threw things that are difficult so I can learn from them and make Awesome script too :-)

Now, Why I am applying for Members: Don't know if people Talk about this When they Apply, but I find it important. To my point of view, What member mean, It means that you are now in the community and that you have a role. Also, it means you are in the side of people That You can Trust and Know how to Script. It is also a place to Learn new things and Eventually become a better scripter and allow you to make better script to help the community which is exactly what I want.

As for my Script : It was not Easy, since It was a long time I didn't touch any Script, but I managed to do it. I Read a few threads and go threw a few scripts to Have a Idea on How do Color based scripts since I was used to Reflection. I learned A lot and My new script is going to be way better, but I just didn't want get back to stage 1 just to use better method.

The script I will show you, Have Break, Antirandoms, AntiBan, Personnal Banking method :-)( didn't know there was one in simba so I made one), FailSafes Everywhere (That was the Hard Part, since I screwed my scripts many times with these FalSafe),DTM Walking Method. The only things this script is missing is Multi-player, The reason I didn't add it is because this is a Script Where you Raise prayer. I don't think anyone Would ever raise 2+ accounts at the same time for prayer since it should only by used on Main account or a Pk Account.

Please show us one (or multiple) of your scripts.
Thanks for the Informations Everyone and for the FeedBacks.

Your a little too new.

Become an active member of the community.

Interesting script for a new comer! but regardless not going to really look at script yet, as I always say community first, scripting ability second .

I really think is important is being community focused, you have 10 posts and have been here for less than a month! Posting actively and longevity not only shows you genuinely care for the community it also helps your chances of getting accepted.

These guides can help you with that:

Anyway, sorry for the roughness. Good luck.

Well you surely put a lot of time into the script, is it your first?

Although it's not the main point we usually judge applications on, I'm going to agree with PatDuffy that you're quite new to the community. Most of the other members would vote based on your script, while some of us are more to leaning twords your place in the community; I'm one of those people. Let me just remind you that you really are among friends here. We are all willing to help out, please don't be afraid to ask, or even just give some input in discussions. No need to be shy. :)

The script is a good start I think. I will personally say that you need to use more of the SRL Include, as this is the purpose of becoming an SRL Member: how well you know the include. Explore it, use as much as you can, you'd really be surprised what's already been written and is openly available for you to utilize, there's no reason not to. ;)

I'm sorry but I'll vote No on this one. That doesn't mean it's the end of the world, don't let it stop you from continuing to learn and improve further. You're always welcome to re-apply later on, so make sure when you do you're ready! Best of luck to ya!

Applying with an ectofuntus is quite a courageous thing I must say - it shows you are willing to take up a challenge.

Scriptingwise I think you can rely less on FindObjCustom and more on TPA finding, but for a first (is it?) script like this I think it's understandable.

I think you have potential but as others have said, consider participating in the community more. That's the thing I think you'll have to work on harder in the months to come.

I'll hold my vote.

The BreakHandler is Echo_'s actually, but he released it quite a while back publicly for anyone to use. I always make sure to give him credit in my scripts for using it.

very nice im leaning toward a yes but im gonna wait for my vote. I agree that you are quite new but you seem to know what your doing especially for a first script.
For all we know you may be another Flight (Flight your one of the best around here in my opinion)

You also seem to be here for the same reason as me. I play legit, i only bot because i don't like skill training.

I gotta vote no just for your activity. Get a bit more active with the community and you will probably get in next time if you don't now.

2012-02-18 01:57:09

Yes. Although your activity around the forum is quite low, that maybe the main reason you won't get in this time, so just make sure to reapply in a month also get active!

Good Luck!

That is quite impressive, particularly when you look at how long you've been here.
The problem arises when you look how long you've been here. Be sure to get active in the community, and come back in a month. Oh, and don't use any of the findobj functions (you use findobjcustom at least once). They don't show skill in object finding, which is really key. Using the findobj functions is, for many members, an instant no.

Great job so far, and good luck next time! :)

I have problem with you ,only 10 posts ,it's very low. Script doesn't contain ATPA based object finding ,what i wish to see in application ,but anyway it's look like a piece of good work! I want to to vote yes ,but I will hold my vote for some time.

Well, Thanks. I wanted to see Your Reaction To my Script, since people doesn't give any FeedBack from Public Forum, so that was my way to get some answers :-) .

For sure, Next Time I apply, I will give Credit to the Break Handler, but I am going to Edit it so it will become a personal one Next time. Also, since My second Script is almost done, I will be able to Run Something Else While I Remake this Script with Way better functions and Try to change for Better Method, but I like to use Easy Method when They work Great like FindObjet.

Yup, That's my First Script, but if you Read Threw by Presentation, I already had some Knowledge in Programming, but it wasn't with Colors Based Method.
I am not a Expert nor one of The best, but I learn Very Fast and I have a lot of imagination Which is good in Programming and Scripting.:-)

Perhaps, I like Challenge and My Second Script Was Something Harder than That because Like I said, I need to Test my Limit, so I can surpass Them and Learn New things to Become Even Better.

So, you will all see me Back in 1 Month with This Script Again, but I garanty you won't recognize it because I will Change and Simplified It(I have already Started). I will also Participate more in the community and I won't have 20 posts.

Thanks guy for the Help and We will see us Soon.

*** I don't know if I need to Pm a Administrator or Say it in Thread, but This Thread can be Closed now, I got my answers ***

Your standards are all over the place, you have functions that should be procedures, you don't make use of any arrays, you have nothing advanced in your script at all, oh and you just joined.

Sorry, it's a no from me. You're on the right track and once you become an established member in the community you'll have no problem getting in :)

Hehe, Atleast you Say the Real things. I like Critics and Thanks You for sharing your point of View. I took note of it and Also what Everyone else Said in the Thread to Adjust This Script and a Future One.

If Anyone else feel like giving some FeedBack and Way to improve this script do it Please. I am open and I appreciate it a lot.

Do you need so many global variables?

Hello Everyone, I did Update the Script with some Current Change I did While moving a lot of things Around. I did event add Some TPA, but I am not sure If I did it the Right way, but it works way better than FindObj and in one case better than DTM.

If you could give FeedBack on My TPA, it would be appreciate. Thanks for the Help :-)

mmm, I don't understand Your question.
You can use GLOBAL and LOCAL variables when you are scripting, but it is better to use local variables where ever you can.
There are certain things that require use of global variables, like an example would be progress reports..

Example of global and local variables, for you:

var
global_string: string;
global_integer: Integer;

procedure Test;
var
local_string: string;
local_integer: Integer;
begin
// local_string and local_integer you can only use inside this procedure:
local_string := '';
local_integer := -1;
{
..whereas you can use global_string and global_integer in every function/procedure which are declared after the global variables, just like here now:
}
global_string := '';
global_integer := -1;
end;

begin
global_string := '';
global_integer := -1;
Test;
end.

Wow, Thanks you for the information because I didn't know that. I thought global Variable were better, so I Understand why Everyone Always declare Var in every procedure/function now. Guess I will need to Change a few things around again :-P
