SOPA supposedly had nothing to do with the seizing of Kim Dotcom's websites, home and cars. Along with his prosecution which he was recently found to be guilty 3/4(?) of the charges made against him.
The seizing of Megaupload/etc. were the act of the United States' FBI because Megaupload had servers in the US.

although this happenned for some time now their explanation for shutting the website down was because of money laundry and other illegal stuff their owner did, and not because of sopa/acta or an anti-piracy move

I knew about MegaUpload being shut down because of SOPA/PIPA, but since then didn't visit the domain, They love they're conspiracies the American FBI… Haha!

His server was hosted in Sweden, which meant there were now laws being broke there..
However, he lived in New Zealand, so it was effectively illegal, If I bought an Offshore server and say it was hosted in Netherlands or something, and started an MP3 Music sharing site, I'd get done for copyright and all that shiz and sham, because I live in England.
