hello i was searching on pastebin and i found like 7 SRL MEMBER SCRIPTS ! someone should delete those post

Yes, pasting scripts that are not for the public to see is actually leaking and is against the rules. Please stop doing that, whoever you are.

Abyss Pro no one part from members have that no one! I haven't posted it on Pate bin either.
Looks like we have a SRL member who's mocking us.

We have the kid's IP, can always send a nasty message to his internet provider about him pirating stuff :p

Someone leaked ALL 7 member scripts, oh dear… at least we now don't have to worry again about leaking member scripts ;)

Exactly what I did…which ones are the Member scripts because I only see a bunch of random snippets

This is why I suggest a cleanse, yet no Mods or Admins agree. Also, Laz, when people PM you asking for the scripts, DO NOT give it to them.

To be honest, a cleanse really wouldn't do too much to keep people out though.

If they got in once they can get in again.

I'm not going to write a script now.

I think someone should make an announcement threatening to report to ISP's (99% of the people who leak/do anything stupid are teenagers who ultimately fear the police/parents getting really mad at them.

Cleanse hmm, I think only the ones that once became member have not done a single thing/stayed active.

There are other ways of contributing than writing scripts, being an active member counts.

There are so many people who aren't even active and just leech. Also, Sin, this wasn't the place for that type of comment.

You can't keep them apart, or else nobody would get into trouble for pirating movies and such. It is a part of life, and these people need to learn that they can't steal/pirate/copy other people's work, even on the internet.

First everyone is against SOPA and such, but oh no, when our scripts gets stolen we need to inform the authorities? We did all we could protecting our scripts, apparently not all SRL members are what a SRL member should be, mature and trustworthy. I do not like the idea of informing the authorities.

They are breaking international copyright for monetary gain. They are also leaking content that is designed to remain private, which would be against privacy laws. Selling copyrighted content is highly illegal, so is leaking personal information. It's criminal what he's doing. There's no way to make SRL Members more trustworthy other than possibly kicking out people who have contributed nothing to the site in the past year (you haven't made any scripts recently but you're knowledgeable and make a few tuts so that won't apply to you anyways).

Do like what was done to the university guy who tried to use a password stealing script earlier - they should be punished or warned in real life.

use srl stats id or something but check if that id belongs to an srl member

I find it interesting that we can only find one script on paste bin…. Shouldn't we solidify the claims before we begin thinking about drastic measures? (legal, members wipe, etc.)

Harry, where'd all of this legislation come into play? None of our scripts are copyrighted though… Just because we have a members section which is held private against the open internet forums, or registered users rather, doesn't mean that information, namely scripts are all private content and could face federal charges. Only way I could see anything legal happening is if the user would be selling someone else's work, that, is illegal.

Really… ? Copyright bylaws work that way over the internet? I actually hadn't the slightest clue. Only thing I knew is that you actually need to do a handful of things before something is copyrighted, also depends on what it is that you're trying to copyright, but I didn't know this works for everything. Good to know I am (somewhat) protected.

Now, question is… Is it really worth it in most cases to arise a conflict? Probably not, lawyer fees will most likely overcome any type of outcome…

I think we would be hard pressed to prove that the scripts leaked would provide monotery gain…I think the only thing to do is to have people use the private paste option.

Couldn't we release a load of fake script templates on there? Which include most search queries? srl.scar, srl.simba, sps.simba, DEFINE SMART, declareplayers;?

That's why i vote NO to new members here on srl. And the problem at this is… you can't stop them whoever is doing this.

This. I really don't care so much about their scripting capabilities unless it is really something substantial and not really seen around here. Pretty gutty and annoying to start posting the member scripts if you ask me… I really hope karma will kick em' in the ass one day, because it's simply not cool to post someone else's work on an open source website such as pastie, especially if you're not even making the paste a private one.

I have an idea.

Lets just upload lots of 'fake' scripts to pastebin so that no-one can find what they want.

Or we could make a script generator that makes always unique names, adds random variables and procedures :D Names could be like GreenDragonKillerPro, UltimteSlayerPro, .. :p

I don't see a search option but I recommend changing your password anyway. Online data might always get leaked.

Also as i posted in Mem Sections, there are people selling members script on RiD for applying to gain access to this members section. You will NOT be able to stop them.

As i read through this thing, non of the scripts were found using paste bin, they leaked by SRL member(s) who have gained access to that specific section.

I do suggest everyone does investigate it because it is getting out of hand. So many new members are applying with scripts that aren't theres…I do say 1 on 1 interview of people applying.

You made a point. Maybe an IRC session so that admins/senior members get to evaluate the applicant.

Btw is it possible to track which users' have downloaded what scripts on the forum to help track possible leaks?

All of those scripts have had to be downloaded, so why not see who downloaded all of them around the same time…i mean someone must have.
