Peculiar Green Drag Botting Behaviour.

If you're familiar with the rev cave in wildy where there's a bunch of green dragons, then you should know they are heavily gold farmed, more so than other spots now. It's multi so there's chance of getting the loot, even if you didn't attack first.

Anyways little to the north in this cave, in a seperate section, linked by a hall-way type connection is a room full of Greater Demons, the whole cave is multi so this is the best place to powerslay Greaters for a slayer task.

I was there cannon set-up and owning me some Greaters, then all of a sudden, a couple green drag botters came running up to my area, stood for around 10 secs, then 1 ran back to the greens and the other started killing the greater demons with me…

They had obvious gold farm names, I still attempted to talk to them with no reply. After around 10 mins the ones fighting the greaters would run back to the greens, but still every few minutes, a couple, even the same ones over n over, would keep running up. Then either turn back or fight.

I thought it must have been the HP bars that they're picking up on, and therefore running over.

After finishing my task I picked up my cannon and went down to the green drags to check out exactly what they could see. Standing at the closest drag spawn to where the greaters are, you can only see the greater demons feet, you can't see no where near above their heads, to where the HP bar is.

It would seem I was dealing with at least 2 different scripts, one had an area check + correcting system, while the other apparently never. But both types would get drawn into coming up there.

I'm still curious as to why, there's no way to see the HP bars, in fixed screen at least, didn't check others but it's VERY unlikely they are using anything other than fixed.

Wanted to get the opinion of you guys as to what you think is making them come over?

The sort of weird part is, they would run from off screen, right over and sometimes a bit past me. Reminded me of reflection days where you could drop green d'hides way out of view and they'd come running over. As said, got me pretty curious.

Thoughts?

Edit: Thought I'd mention, they don't seem to go to just red dots on minimap, tons of times I've killed skulled drag killers/pkers there and the bots will totally ignore the loot. I could leave a partyhat kill on the ground pretty safely. So I also doubt the red dots were the cause.

Reflection isn't gone…I've heard rumors that the chinese gold farmers have a private client

Its some type of reflection or OpenGL

Its possible that it is a color bot, that is poorly programed. It can sometimes be hard to plan for stuff that you are not expecting on the ground to be there. Of course this is speculation…

Rapidz, do you have a source for your rumors?

Ofcourse they got reflection or something else they have millions so they can buy everything they need.
Most likely gold4fun.

Gold4Fun's bot, (not gonna advertise) is currently using a private reflection bot. (This is a rumor, they did state they had an updated bot after botnuke but since it was illegal to release they aren't.) So its most likely them running it on there 900+ computers, and to be honest, I wouldn't mind it at all. The dragon bone prices will be dropping soon. So will frost dragon bones so cheap prayer. ;)

There are private reflection bots around, but unless they're using a retarded script which makes no sense for such a big company, with reflection they wouldn't be going to greaters at all since they'd know they're greaters and not greenies… I don't know how can someone be retarded enough to even do that with color to be honest…

They went to demons ,because there was item from their loot list ,propably law rune. And they stay there ,because they have auto retaliate on ,so if demon attacks ,bot can't go back.
And I'm almost sure there is more than one version of bots.

what if its a duo script that kills bones and gets the ashes from the demons? Ashes are about 5k.. so yeah.

^Greater demons don't drop that kind of ash.

The way they fixed reflection is kinda intriguing. Any idea how they managed to decode the constant obj id changes in the java? Not an easy task i guess

It is very much possible to fix reflection, but the usage&distribution of it will now be considered copyright infringement (like what happened to Mark&Eric), so if someone make a reflection client and keeps it to himself he will be relatively safe. (but it is still an enormous project to create a reflection client all by urself, so only gold-farming companies could afford to do it)

That sucks from a legit pov… What also sucks is that jage. Said they will be comin out with a new anti bot thing but from what i read, it's only meant to stop color…

Agreed, not a legit prove

Reflection isn't gone. Drop a dragon bone or green d'hide and they will all come running over to pick it up. Even ones will pop onto you're map that were far off.

I used this to bug these botters and be able to kill these :P

I didn't know that there were some 2private" reflection bots, I thought that they were using colour bots >.<

They are smarter, when I went to green dragon after bot nuke, i did see all of them and I got to say most of them are using a good script because they are really hard to dupe. I tried a few things and some did work, but the guy who made the script was surely not a begineer.

Of course it is reflection, OpenGL or something.. I mean think about Rare Bot they have had their bot running etc.
A company with enough money could easily hire a programmer over their to get a script working for them

I don't think that private companies are keeping their bots to themselves out of fear of copyright infringement. Statistically speaking, American/British to Chinese lawsuits over copyright infringement are very low. And if a case was filed, how would the charges be seen through? If the company isn't based in Britain, than the British court system cannot legally do much to a China based company. They can bitch and moan, but ultimately not much will happen in the short term, no matter how much money they pump into it.

Also, it isn't hard to build a case against Jagex in defense, especially with the assets that say, Gold4Fun has. I won't say I know their reasons, but pure fear of lawsuits isn't it.
