anyone good with audio wiring? well I guess I mean pro because I'm "good"..

I'm assuming car amps use the high level of amp from the alternator and the 12volts to create watts, which is what they're amplifying? because there's like no wattage from that..

wondering about hooking a power supply to an amp to power it, I obviously don't want an underpowered power supply, hooking them up is obvious stuff but there is no way these 16AWG wires can carry 30AMPS?? that is unreal.. which power supplies say they have that many

if my amp draw is going to be around 28.333333333a …

thanks if anyone has insight

Really depends on the wire, I don't do this often but I know you can check to see what wire you need.

But first you have to consider upgrading your alternator if your putting in a system that pulls 28amps. If you have a standard alternator you'll either kill it or your car won't charge (probably a combination of both).

Edit:
Just talked to a friend it'll pull on the alternator of course (just have a good one), but it shouldn't be a problem. For 30amp breakers he says you need 4 gauge at least.

most car alternators are 85amps, mines fine.. I'm talking about powersupply not a car at all =/ I wired my car years ago…

amplifier in my car pulls like 50-60amps too lol..

reason I'm concerned is because power supplies wire are thin, the molex connectors
