What do you guys think is the best free virtual machine. It needs to be good in terms of performance and features(Ease of use isn't a problem).

VMWare Workstation 7
Its not free but thats what the internet is for. I like it, a lot of features, boots up VM in less than a minute, I Can turn it off in 2 seconds, can see my Windows files from inside my Ubuntu vm, very stable, and very customizable, gives you choices for every aspect from CPU cores to Internet connection mode.

I've used both Virtualbox and VMware workstation.. imo they both run well, but from what I remember VMware workstation is a little more bulky and the gui itself ran slow on my computer. I prefer virtualbox. (its also free). Qemu is also really good but its not as very user-friendly.

VMWare WS8 by far. Less of a resource hog than Virtualbox on my poor little machine, and can run virtual OS's quite smooth compared to Virtualbox.

Haha I've had the exact opposite experience with VMware. VMWare WS's interface just seems to run sluggish on my old computer. (but the vm itself runs about as good as vbox.)
