This will be my progress thread for the workout program: Insanity.
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/insanity.do

Let me tell you a little about me before this starts:
I am pretty fit, eat about 4000 calories a day maintain my shape with little to no exercise (I am 17, my youth's metabolism is still kicking). I was thinking about doing p90x but decided against it as I want a clearly visible and hard six pack before beach season comes up again.

Starting dimensions:
Weight: 180 pounds/82 kilograms (aprox)
Height: 6'0/ 1.8 meters
Fat index: I am estimating 26%
Mile time: 6:32

Times:
I will wake up every day at 5 AM, exercise/shower/go to school.

Diet:
I am so used to eating 4000 calories a day, I will try to trim down.
Morning: Fruit
Lunch: Salad/with chicken + dressing
Come home from school: Oatmeal w/ Splenda
Dinner: Eggs, 2 yolks 4 whites/ What ever my parents cook in proportion.

The actual workout schedule:

If I last all 60 days, I will post pictures. I really need encouragement to keep strong, so when I post if you happen to see me say keep going! haha :)

Day 1:
Day 1 complete!
Holy crap, the fit test burnt me. I don't think iv worked that hard since the first time
I did plyometrics of p90x. I can only imagine how hard the rest is :P

I am drenched >.<, so far I am pretty much on par with the instructors pace sometimes
I take a few breaks but nothing longer than 15 seconds.

Outch!

Day 2!

…..I have only once been worked harder than I was today and that was by
the united states marine core, there is no pause button with them.
Today was easily the second hardest workout of my life,
I sweat so much I don't even want to sit down cause my tooshe will slide off my chair/stick to it.

Yeah nasty details oh well :P, I don't feel like I really even did the
full workout I took MANY MANY breaks as I just couldn't go on in
some of them (pauses not breaks while the video was playing)
these breaks consisted of 5-20 seconds a piece >.< Oh well, hope I improve on that.

Must say it was invigorating.
5am - 6am (15 minutes to get out of bed/brush teeth etc.)

Day 3!
Im actually dripping, yes dripping in sweat.. disgusted?
you should be.
I thought it wasn't as hard as yesterdays but my
body seems to say otherwise. Perhaps it was the chilly
I ate for dinner last night, lots of beans lots of calories.

Day 4! (Recovery day)
Kind of woke up late (Power went out yesterday, and I set my alarm to 5pm instead of 5am -.-) Regardless I still did most of the workout, was just recovery so a lot of stretching, positions I just couldn't reach, oh well I feel less sore now though.

Day 5!
Eh, one of the more insane workouts. (Pun intended).
It is different than all the rest, instead of doing a set slow, medium, then insane we just go insane the whole ride with 0 breaks (I took breaks none the less, as did many of the people in the video) I think that was the blunt of the hard, at least for this month (Scratch that there is a combo day -.- "Pure cardio + cardio abs")
Lol oh well! more training woooo

Day 6!
It was the same workout as day 2, I felt like I did more but I think it might be all in my head!
Well today I weighed in 3 pounds lighter than when I started a week ago, 177 now :D. I believe it was all water weight.

Day 7!
Day off

Day 8!
Outch, I kinda dogged it due to me waking up a little late and being out of the loop in my head. Need that moral support :P. Anyway still sweating, still was rather hard even when I slacked a bit.

Day 9!
ARGH PURE CARDIO!
What a workout, non stop drills. I am scared for when they combine this with cardio abs.
Also thanks Zyt3x for keeping faith in me :D

Day 10!
Hmm turns out I didn't update today, could of sworn I did must of gotten side tracked.
Anyway, was a very hard day drained me but luckily tomorrow is recovery day :D Easy peezy. Improvements: I can do a lot more of the workouts than I could before, and I feel a lot more energetic (Thanks for the support everyone :))

Day 11! (Recovery)
Not much to say, was not a real sweat inducing workout just something to stretch my body. I can't really reach all the spots just yet so I am hoping to improve on flexibility as well. Thanks Football and Pinky for support!

Day 12!
Was hard, like always but today I decided to drink some cold water instead of room temp to do my workout seems like I could do more reps of everything but like always when I drink cold water when working hard I get a sore throat and feel like I worked less.

Day 13!
OUTCH!!! So I had to do Pure Cardio (Which is the one without breaks) AND Cardio Abs which was painful because of Pure Cardio I did about 5 minutes prior :P. My Wife-beater stuck to me and I couldn't take it off while trying to to haha.
Anyway, weighed in today: 175.2
Woot 5 pounds lost since the start

Day 14!
Day OFF!

Day 15! FIT TEST
Can honestly say, insanity is WORKING I improved on EVERY single one of my exercises some by a large margin.

It may just be the time I did it though :P, I did it 3 hours late today (No school) so I was awake with a lot more energy/but then again I was VERY energetic the first day I did insanity.

Results for two weeks of exercise (5 pounds lost) I weigh 175 now.
(Exercise - Start - Two week point)
Switch kicks: 101 - 109
Power Jacks: 31 -51
Power knees: 45-77
Power Jumps: 41 -46
Globe Jumps: 4 -7 (These are brutal, especially right after power jumps)
Suicide Jumps: 10 - 12 (I regret this, I could of done at least 1 more >.<)
Push - up jacks: 13- 20 (Its weird since I can do 35 regular push ups..)
Low Plank Oblique: 16 - 35

Day 16!
I woke up kind of late, and was just not in the mood to work out but I did it anyway kind of dogged it but oh well life goes on. Still sweat like an animal.

Day 17!
ARGHHHH PUREEE CARDIO + CARDIO ABS
Let me just tell you, it is the worst lol. Drenched…
Monday and Friday of next week, I am scared to do this :P

Day 18!
Easy day, just recovery workout. Nothing much to say.

Day 19!
Woo, was tiring hmm thoughts for this week I don't think I lost weight. I think I am having an energy deficiency due to a change in my "lunch" diet (I changed it to pure spinach instead of salad with meat/croutons)

Day 20!
FINALLY, woot! been waiting for day 20 for a while! (1/3rd) done.
I decided for the next week my goal is to lose 4-5 pounds, possible? Yes. Will I do it? We will see.

I lost 1 pound this week, I was not going full force all week besides for today and wednesday though.

Other stuff I am getting to help improve circulation.
I read that increasing body temperature = increasing sweat production = more calories lost due to body working more to try to stay cool.

So I am going to purchase this cream called "Sweet Sweat" It apparently raises body temperature wherever you put it. It also prevents the lactic acid from building up so quickly (Perfect, as I have noticed it is building up rather fast recently) I am also going to get a waist trimmer (Increases circulation in waist area). Why am I buying this stuff? I noticed I do NOT sweat at all from my belly area just above and below, so I am going to try to induce the sweat.

Again neither of these are supplements, simple clothing and cream (I figure the cream aspect is the same as putting on an ace bandage).

Day 21!
Day off!

Day 22!
Fun times, so I put on the waist trimmer and a pair of shorts that induce sweat.. reminds me of the swim clothing material (Actually, that is what I think it is made of) I didn't but the cream, and I don't think I need it so I won't be buying it. I got the shorts and the waist trimmer belt for $15 total from walmart :). Anyway I think the shorts really did help, as I didn't feel my legs trying to give out on me during the workout my calves got in the way though. Good times.

Day 23!
This morning was a toughy, I just couldn't get into the mood but I managed and I believe I worked hard enough. Sweat inducing clothing worked once again, it really feels like I am getting a better workout (Even if it is all mental).

Day 24!
Was hard this morning, much harder than it was last saturday for some reason. I made this "green" shake, its uhh interesting. A bunch of leaves from some pre-made salad from the super market and 1 apple. I can taste the apple and then the aftertaste is of spinach.

Day 25!
What can I say! Recovery day, love it and hate it. Love the little break but I hate not doing anything that really makes me work.

Thanks camaro' for the consistent support means a lot!
Also thanks strafed!.

Day 26!
Pure Cardio + Cardio Abs, what a killer. I also did some upper body at school today. I enjoyed today but I think I over ate >.<.

Day 26!
Great time yesterday, really worked only lost another pound so 7 pounds total lost since day one. Eh can't complain didn't really follow diet strictly last week.

Day 27!
Off today

Day 28!
Was the first day of core and balance workout week, was nice and easy. I enjoyed it and still got a little burn!

Day 29!
Im tired, I went to sleep at like 9:30 yesterday and I still woke up a bit late and overly exhausted today :/ Hopefully this tiredness will pass. I did the work out today, as best as I could; wasn't too hard.

Day 30!!!

WOO half way done with the entire program!
I enjoyed it today, since I was able to wake up a little late fully rested :).

Unfortunately I won't be able to work out on Friday or Saturday due to me being out of state :/ and at someone else's home where I would feel very awkward either way :P.

Day 31!

Was fun kind of bummed I can't do it tomorrow or Saturday! Oh well, Monday is the start of hell (Or so I heard)

Day 32!

Out of town

Day 33!

Out of town

Day 34!

Break day

MONTH TWO BEGINS (All new workouts, add an extra 30 minutes to each workout + up the level of intensity by 100)

Day 35!
So I did the fit test in the morning and the actual workout in the afternoon. OUTCH I thought it was hard before, the next level of workouts are INSANE. A whole hour of non stop movement. I am pretty sure I only did about 30% of the workout due to the amount of breaks I took lol.

Day 36!

GSDFAG
Even harder, words can't describe.
I have a sore throat from drinking ice cold water from yesterdays workout, so now I am suffering with that making this workout harder than it should be (Which is already way too extreme) I am enjoying it, I hope the sore throat goes away quick, time to OD on Vitamin C.

Day 37!
Thank you cause, I need all the encouragement I can get :P
Today was rough again, I have a feeling it wasn't as bad as day 35 or 36 but I figure it is because I am less sick today. I think by sunday I will be fully recovered from my mild cold, which means I can go all out again. (At the moment when I go all out, I just get tired after a few seconds >.<)

Day 38!
Ehh was really boring, very long and pretty much the same moves. It wasn't a fatigue video it was one of those keep your hands up till they fall off video's :P.

Day 39!
Was great today, I ate a little over my calorie limit yesterday which I think gave me the extra energy I needed! I think I did about 75% of the workout this time, much better than my 25% last time.

Day 40! (2/3) THERE
YES, today was phenomenal and my thoughts in my head about Max Interval Plyo being the hardest workout were 100% correct. I struggled even with the extra energy boost of yesterdays "barbecue + Culver's burger" >.< (Woops!)

I weighed in today: 169.6
That means I lost 11 pounds total so far :D!

Can I see my abs, not really lol. I don't know if I will be able to even when I finish insanity but regardless if I can loose 20 pounds total I will be content with insanity and will start another Beachbody program. What program? I will decide when I finish insanity, there is no more "If" I finish insanity I will do it!

Also thanks Hyper! Glad to know you are following the program and keeping track with this thread means a lot!

Day 41!
Day off!

Day 42!

Easily one of the worst days I have had in insanity, for some reason I couldn't complete ANY workout. I had to take so many breaks, I was just completely out of it. I don't really know what the contributing factor to this was but I am going to assume it is yesterday's diet on my break day. McDonalds in the morning, then chinese for lunch and then I ate the leftovers of the chinese for dinner.

Day 43!

Today was MUCH MUCH better, finished about 75% of the workout unlike yesterday. For some reason I was just a lot more pumped. Although I did go to sleep EXTRA early yesterday, I think I dozed off at 8:30. Thank you Nemesis for the consistent support!

Day 44!

Fun day, although it is plyo and I simply cannot do the plyo for my life I enjoyed it! I think I did around 45% of each exercise and spent the rest of the time panting for my life :P.

Again thanks nemesis3X and footballjs!

Day 45!

Max recovery, I find this to be very boring at times but also too extreme for a recovery at times. Eh nothing is ever perfect :P Just got to deal with it!

Day 46!

So I have this friday and the entire next week off. After doing Max Cardio (The next level of Pure Cardio) I was overly exhausted but it didn't end there, we had to do cardio abs next. Over killed.

I weighed in today! 167.8, that is nearly 2 pounds lost from last week . Putting me at a total of 13 pounds lost

My plan for this week, since I have so much extra time.
Insanity like normal
Then either p90x plyo X or TurboFire videos. (I have the p90x videos, but I need to borrow the Turbofire from one of my friends.)

Day 47!

Didn't do it ill do it on sunday

Day 48!

Pain, today was a fit test AND max interval cardio. Such a killer, I did them one after another so was abnormally tired.

Even though I think I improved on all my numbers when I counted it was very close; I am going at speeds I simply cannot count and move at the same time. At times I will be counting faster than I am moving and at other times moving faster than counting. Its annoying.

Either way I matched or exceeded *I think* all of the "master insanist" people in the fit test. (Yeah I made up a word)

12 more days o.o

Day 49!

Today was extremely tiring because I did it at night; regardless I finished it. I also visited my #1 college today loved it .

Day 50!

Day 50
I am going to let a lot of you down, but these two days I simply did not exercise for this I am sorry. I was playing volleyball on day 50 and went down for the ball and experienced a pretty bad strain on a muscle below the butt but above the thigh (don't exactly know what I strained) but when ever I bend down I feel a pretty sharp pain.

Day 51!

Day 51

I was playing volleyball on day 51 and went down for the ball and experienced a pretty bad strain on a muscle below the butt but above the thigh (don't exactly know what I strained) but when ever I bend down I feel a pretty sharp pain. I will be back on the wagon tomorrow, sorry for any let downs.

Day 52!

I am pissed at myself for not working out the last two days (even if one of those were a recovery day) I feel like I really couldn't keep up with even what I usually do in today's video. Still regardless managed to workout a serious sweat. Ugh the thing that really made me mad was the pain I had during pushups I did like 8 and was actually tired unlike before where I would do about 25 then get a tad tired. Also on another note turns out there are 63 days not 60 :P 7 days x 9 week = 63
.

Day 53!

Played volleyball over core cardio and resistance (A recovery workout)
.

Day 54!

Break day
.

Day 55!

Fun day monday, was really tired when finished. Felt like before I hurt myself so I am glad!.
.

Day 56!

What a bummer woke up super late so I wasn't able to do the workout before school, got home did it very very slow and sluggish (Just was drop dead tired) ended up finishing crossed off my chart as incomplete for that day though.
.

Day 57!

Worked hard, and well this morning!
Great workout once again, 4 more days!!!!!!
birthday today tooo :D 18 at last.
.

Day 58!

This workout is one of the easier ones, but man.. those last couple minutes are killer. I am also fighting a terrible headache from my "activities" for my birthday the day before :P.
.

Day 59!

Thank you brandon! I didn't lose nearly as much as weight as you did but then again I didn't really follow the diet to the core like I planned :P These last two weeks have been extremely tough to follow the diet with so many festivities around (I think I may of actually gained weight O.o). Regardless I know my endurance and leg power increased dramatically which was my original goal to begin with! Today was the same as always, drenched and feeling good! Still don't really have visible abs, but I feel like I toned down quite a bit. (2 more days!!!)
.

DAY 60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOO, WORKED THE HARDEST IV EVER WORKED FOR THESE VIDEO's. I took aprox 3 breaks (this is the workout that has no breaks built in) CRAZY was dead on the ground with my heart pumping so fast I could see my chest expand dramatically. Felt nauseous, felt light headed, but I felt great… I am pretty much DONE all I have left is a fit test tomorrow :D!!!!

15 pounds lost (weighed today), eh I can say I like the improvements to the body but I wish I worked just a bit harder and stuck to the diet a bit more so I could get those visible abs. (I can feel the abs, they are just not showing under fats :P)

Interesting, what types of exercise is it then? I mean, it looks all Cardio but like what movements ect? I've always been a fan of the convict workout, which is a set of movements which don't require gym equipment.

Anyway, goodluck will be interested to see how you get on.

The exercises consist of HEAVY cardio with crazy emphasis on plyometrics. They are meant for cutting and definition over building a lot of mass, though it is reported most people gain a few pounds in lean muscle.

No weights, no pull up bar, nothing but your body is needed.

Okay… A 12-year-old girl does not weigh 180 pounds :P It's a different ball game to run the mile when you weigh 98 pounds. I used to run the mile fast too when I was a twig.

Good luck dude, Insanity is just that, a insane workout. Last year I did P90X, and even without following the nutrition plan I dropped around 30-40LBS and went from 2 to 20 Pull Ups. Insanity will do even more then that..

I guess everyone's stomach works differently, but fruit isn't the best way to start a morning - especially if you have rigorous exercise afterwards.

Must say it was invigorating.
5am - 6am (15 minutes to get out of bed/brush teeth etc.)

E: I also added a slim fast shake in the morning just to curb the appetite enough without throwing up from too much food in the stomach.

Day 3!
Im actually dripping, yes dripping in sweat.. disgusted? you should be.
I thought it wasn't as hard as yesterdays but my body seems to say otherwise. Perhaps it was the chilly I ate for dinner last night, lots of beans lots of calories.

There is no need for such an advanced program. You'd be fine sticking to a basic program, and upping the cardio to burn that fat.

If you run, you strengthen your abs a lot, and you lose fat.

You'd probably have to aim for a 10% bodyfat, if not 8-9% to get as visible abs as possible. But you really don't have to make it more complex than it is.

Also, are you sure about the 4000 calories? That's a lot of calories, and you should be a lot bigger than you already are, or a lot fatter. (Not that you're fat)

Yeah I suppose but I really want to finish insanity just for myself to prove to myself I don't quit when things get tough. Also yes I eat 4000 a day, or used to I have a pretty fast metabolism interestingly enough I don't seem to lose weight even when I cut down to less than half.

Day 4
Kind of woke up late (Power went out yesterday, and I set my alarm to 5pm instead of 5am -.-) Regardless I still did most of the workout, was just recovery so a lot of stretching, positions I just couldn't reach, oh well I feel less sore now though.

Is p90x a worthwhile investment? I've seen the infomercials and wasn't sure if it was just another scam? I go to the gym five times a week but wouldn't mind something for home aswell.

Honestly if you follow the food guidelines and actually do the workouts to your full potential it will be beneficial (to anyone).

They are hard workouts, that range from 60-75 minutes. They aim more towards building and toning muscles, while insanity aims towards losing excess weight and extreme toning.

P90x is long, 90 days. It is a true commitment make sure you can do it and have a set time to do it everyday.

Day 5!
Eh, one of the more insane workouts. (Pun intended). It is different than all the rest, instead of doing a set slow, medium, then insane we just go insane the whole ride with 0 breaks (I took breaks none the less, as did many of the people in the video) I think that was the blunt of the hard, at least for this month (Scratch that there is a combo day -.- "Pure cardio + cardio abs") Lol oh well! more training woooo

Day 6!
It was the same workout as day 2, I felt like I did more but I think it might be all in my head! well today I weighed in 3 pounds lighter than when I started a week ago, 177 now :D. I believe it was all water weight.

Outch, I kinda dogged it due to me waking up a little late and being out of the loop in my head. Need that moral support :P. Anyway still sweating, still was rather hard even when I slacked a bit.

I don't use either, honestly unless you are a BODYBUILDER I mean you workout HARD for 2 hours+ (On muscles not cardio) Then fine drink protein powder, otherwise just avoid it. Protein powder will tax your livers if you don't drink enough water along with it, (I would say 13-15 glasses a day if you are working out hard).

You could try Ebay, but most of the sellers don't really have reputation so I would be careful. My uncle bought it from a beachbody coach which gets you 10% off the original price, you can find them all over the internet. Good luck :)

R4nd0m, I just got these DVD's from a friend of mine, although I am planning to use your schedule that you have posted up.

You think that be a good idea?

Also, I found this:

The one you posted is what I have taped to my wall, I just cross off the day when I finish it. Keeps me motivated :D

Im glad you are going to try it, you should try to stick to some sort of diet. My personal one is 5 meals a day, 300 calories per meal. So 1500 calories a day.

Day 15 FITNESS TEST

Good luck Pinky and who ever else is trying it :)

R4nd0m - There's no such thing as "Toning" or "Extreme toning" by the way ^^

Lets dissolve the misnomer of "tone" right now. The firming-up or toning is due to an increase in muscle tissue as well as a low enough bodyfat percentage to see the definition and shape of the muscles and get rid of the "jiggle".

Muscles do not go from soft to hard or hard to soft - they either shrink or grow in size. Muscles themselves do not "firm-up" or "tone".

Wow dude 17 days in very nice. I personally was in jail for 2 years with a math teacher that was this big black x football player who did Insanity while I was in his class. Noone fucked around in there he didn't even call for staff support he just started throwing people into walls if shit got outa hand lol.

Im slightly overweight, I used to be over 100 pounds overweights. Now I'm 5'6 176 Thick boned build so I could stand to drop to 150 and look pretty good.

I am awake literally every single morning at 5am working on my online business and getting high and the infomercial for insanity is always on. All of those people talking about just watching the commercial every morning then finally doing it.

One morning I was high as hell decided it was my turn, downloaded the full 8gb torrent. I did the fitness test, and dude there was just no way. That was a couple of months ago, I actually did the whole video of me with the shirt off on my droid 3 and everything saying my starting goals and all of that.

Anyway like I said there was no way I could continue that, I was honest with myself. I've lost maybe 15 pounds or so since then, slimfast and smoking some wierd shit lol.

Maybe once I get down around 150 I will do p90x first and if I am able to accomplish that then move onto insanity. I like how you posted your progress on a forum so you have motivation and people to talk to about it. Your inspiring me making me want to work up to it as well. Shit I'm about to be 20 in a couple of months its time to get that body lol

You should try P90, it is a simpler version of p90x and will cut you into weight over time. Then once you are ready do the entire p90x or insanity (P90x is for getting bigger, insanity is for weight loss) You can do it! Thank you for posting that, great to see longer feedback :)

I never mind :) hopefully someone reads my story and doesn't do my dumbass mistakes lol. I wasn't a very good kid or bad, mostly a runescape nerd who was into getting high and like 15-16 years old. Some shit happened with my mom and me where I got sent to live with my dad (bad relationship) and me and him got into a fist fight. I got taken to juvenile hall, released a month later only to violate probation (dirty piss test) and get sent back to a detention center. This was for 45 days and was a diagnostic program to see what was wrong with you.

I figured I would go home after 45 days but their diagnosis was to send me to another facility for 5-6 months. Nty, escaped with some black kid stole a truck went on a high speed chase down the highway right outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and sent to an ultra secure facility in the middle of nowhere.

My best recommendation for anyone involved in legal trouble, do everything you can to be complaint and get it over with, because once they have their hands on you they don't ever want to let go it took until January 21st of this year was my final court date and I got out May 28th 2010.

google maps of where I was:
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
1000 Academy Drive Morgantown, PA if you bother to look this up.. zoom out a little bit and look how long the driveway is. It was over 3 miles in complete backwoods nowhere lol and we didn't know about that highway right there behind us and shit. The backyard where the baskeball courts and the large field is surrounded by a 25 foot fence curving inward along the top 5 feet tipped with razor wire. No escaping here lol I didn't leave that building for over 400 days.

Any my online business is frowned upon here at Simba but as I am being open so far I goldfarm. I do it smart, I have a few shark fishers, a few magic cutters, a few runite miners, basically things that require a very high level, I don't flood the market of an individual item I find the optimal goldfarm would consist of 1-2 bots doing each type of skill so as not to flood the market with resources. My goldfarming has minimal impact compared to others on the Runescape economy and I understand the negative effects I can cause if I was just a greedy -5% I want my money now kind of guy.

I am 18 and in the opposite situation. (If I understood well)
Definition isn't a problem but the mass is. So I eat tons of proteins and weight gainers and workout 5 times a week.
Even if I have a really low fat index, I am struggling with abs. So I now how hard it is to get defined abs. (I work them out three times a week)

However, you seem to have thought about it and planned well.
And do you get enough sleep? (As the body needs to restore). I have to wake up at 6 AM and I feel like dead for a few hours. :) So respect.
Do you use something like L-Carnitin?

Good luck with it and I hope you report the progress.

The one thing I know about abs is they ONLY show in extremely low fat percentages (6-8) is when they show pretty well. I would recommend not working the abs so much but instead try just heavy cardio it generally works the same muscles especially when you run.

I go to sleep around 10:30 wake up at around 5:25, I will soon have to start waking up at 5:00 again when insanity forces me to do two workouts in one sitting.

And I don't use L-Carnitin or any other drug, no need for it I have full faith in working out and dieting.

What most people for about when it comes to definition and abs is that A LOT of it comes from genes and what runs in the family. I know some people that work out hard and are very strong that just do not look it. Sorry to say if an insanity workout doesnt get you abs I dont care what your body percentage, you might just not have the right body type.

Not saying you wont ever be able to see your abs, they just wont get as defined no matter how hard you work.

Yeah I heard the same thing, I will fight to the last sweat drop. I believe I can do it, as my cousin has a straight 6 pack very defined (Ran for years). Regardless losing a few pounds around that middle area is always a plus.

Thanks!

Good times.

Your doing great man, keep up the excellent work. Most people can't do what your doing, having the motivation to wake up that early knowing you have a long/typical day of life with the normal bullshit that every has to deal with everyday is incredible. Really, I give you a pat on the back. *pat*.

And goodluck to you man, I've ran through that workout about 3 times and it's just brutal, for a weightless training program anyways.

Attempt doing some muscle ups whenever you get to a bar. (monkey bars kind of ).

A correct muscle up, like don't jump into it, and don't use your elbows. Very hard, I have been practicing parkour for over a year and still cant do even one :(. Just for the lulz.

(Doesn't make sense cause I can do like 12 - 15 pullups / chinups)

Haha that is very odd that you mentioned that, until today I had no idea that was called a muscle up. I saw a video of some guy doing it a while ago, seems pretty intense I will try my best! I can only do about 7 pull ups >.<.

5 with frontal over grip
7 with under grip (bicep ones)

Frontal over grip = Pull-up
Under grip = Chin-up

If I had to guess there is some technique to it but, I just go for it :)

What are you aiming for? Losing weight?
You could try things like squat jumps, mountain climbers, (Level 1 drills in instanity)- 4 pushups, start running in plank position, then bring legs in and JUMP up. Great exercise real killer. I think those will really tone your legs, and core a bit. C-sit (No idea how to explain this but I will try) You sit down, position your body so you look like a C now do roman twists with (Keep your body like a C). Then later put your hands in front of your hip on the ground, and lift your legs in and out in and out. repeat. Great for abs.

Actually it is interesting, I can say I feel my abs much more than before but not really seeing them. I also feel like my arms got a tad thinner (Not a huge fan of that), but what I am a huge fan about is my thighs/hips getting thinner I think by a reasonable amount too as my pants are very lose now. YES, today was phenomenal and my thoughts in my head about Max Interval Plyo being the hardest workout were 100% correct. I struggled even with the extra energy boost of yesterdays "barbecue + Culver's burger" >.< (Woops!)

Yesterdays pure cardio workout I did really good in. I bought a heart rate monitor (w/ a strap) and have been measuring my steps/calories burned/heart rate during my workouts and I can see a huge improvement in those numbers. Even in a weeks time!

I started burning around 550 calories or so at about 3.5k-4k steps in my first pure cardio. Yesterday I burned about 480 calories at about 4.7k steps, so my steps have improved (not resting as much) and my endurance has built greatly (takes more for me to get as good of a workout).

Good job mate :), my advice would to be make sure your getting plenty of protein ( to maintain muscle mass) , while losing fat at the same time, And make sure you get plently of carbohydrates in before and after you workout. Have some eggs in the morning too for some healthy fats and eat nuts throughout the day, this has helped me get to 10% BF :) Keep it up! :)

My metabolism was a beast, then it kind of slowed down which made me gain extra weight that I really didn't want! I would just recommend trying to do more core oriented workouts, once the muscle forms it will continue to burn fat faster than just cardio.

Free sorry, this forum doesn't encourage piracy.

Why not just make your own plan! You can do something along these lines.
Warm up
Jog- 30 seconds
Jumping jacks - 45 seconds
Heisman - 45 seconds
Moving Heisman - 45 second
Jump rope (Without rope) - 45 seconds
Squat down, then kick - 30 seconds
Repeat 3 times

Stretch
Get all your leg muscles
(Research, I don't know any stretches by name)

Then go into an extreme workout
You can follow video's on youtube, take the moves and compile it all into one workout :D

Thanks! Yeah I try to eat chicken everyday (Breast piece so it has very low fat). I want 10%! I am thinking prob still at 16-18%.

(Didn't update yesterday)

167.8, that is nearly 2 pounds lost from last week :D. Putting me at a total of 13 pounds lost :D

My plan for this week, since I have so much extra time.
Insanity like normal
Then either p90x plyo X or TurboFire videos. (I have the p90x videos, but I need to borrow the Turbofire from one of my friends.)

What are your overall goals here? Are you training to gain muscle mass? Cutting down? Just keeping fit?

HyperSecret

2012-03-23 15:42:01

On fit test number two, I improved.

Exercise Fit Test 1 Fit Test 2
Switch Kicks 90 120
Power Jacks 50 53
Power Knees 84 93
Power Jumps 25 35
Globe Jumps 8 10
Suicide Jumps 11 14
Push-up Jacks 20 27
Low Plank Oblique 40 42

Power jacks I just can't go any faster (or at least I feel when I do I don't go lower enough). Once you hit globe and suicide jumps you are just tired after that.

You should post your numbers!

On spring break? I currently am on spring break for the next week. I don't plan to do insanity + another workout though -.-

Oh I will, I was actually planning to but forgot :P
You have better numbers than I do :D (I think, I don't actually remember..last time I checked the sheet was two weeks ago)

Day 47!
I will actually do this on sunday, I am swamped today. (Didn't wake up early enough today!) I had a funeral for 6 hours I had to attend (I literally have a 1 hour break today) and after this one hour I have to go to a meeting till 11pm.

Day 49!

11 more days o.o

Day 50 & Day 51
I am going to let a lot of you down, but these two days I simply did not exercise for this I am sorry.

You say you want to start a new program similar to this but if I were you I would consider something different. You lost 13 pounds which is great, your body fat percentage is probably sitting very well. Now I would STRONGLY reccomend doing a weight room program. Your goal should be to put that 13 pounds back on in muscle. A weight room program will bulk you up in a hurry and will help define your muscles. Putting weight back on in muscle is the one time its good to gain weight, take advantage of it.

Day 52
I am pissed at myself for not working out the last two days (even if one of those were a recovery day) I feel like I really couldn't keep up with even what I usually do in today's video. Still regardless managed to workout a serious sweat. Ugh the thing that really made me mad was the pain I had during pushups I did like 8 and was actually tired unlike before where I would do about 25 then get a tad tired. Also on another note turns out there are 63 days not 60 :P 7 days x 9 week = 63.

Oooo, k… I was honestly hoping you'd say P90x. P90x, is truly going to tone you. I've personally done and completed the P90x program, and can truly say that it does it's job as it should. I just don't know how it's going to work in combination with insanity. Should be fairly interesting.

In terms of dieting dude… I wouldn't really be so worried about dieting so much. I personally would just stick to the cutting factor because dieting in combination with extreme workouts can result in over fatigue, especially if your daily calorie intake is significantly decreased from the amount of carbs you intake. If you choose to diet, just make sure you're not doing more bad than good to your body. :)

Yeah I have a new thread I don't really update, I should but am soooo busy life sucks.

I currently weigh 200, 18%-22% BF, 6'0, Asian.
I think I am doing well, no where near as skinny as I was when I first did insanity but a lot stronger I met my "Strength goals of 2013" Trying to create some for 2014 that I will be able to manage.

Ill update my new thread now.
