OpenGL, still trying?

hi, i was wondering if people were still developing code to work with openGL? there hasnt been any replies in this section for like a month. If anyone is still working on anything or has some work done but doesnt want to continue i am offering to help as much as i can.

Well if i remember correctly, TriLeZ is working on a OGL bot.
This is the site to see how the development is:

I think that's a typo

Im not interested in other OpenGL bots, its the OpenGL framework that was getting developed here that im interested it. I have no intention of paying for something from some crappy site that is probably a virus and could end up in a lawsuit.

Any admins or people who were developing for simba respond?

TRiLeZ is an SRL Dev, and he is making an OGL client. He wouldn't do anything wrong in the code, I promise you.

I was lurking moparisthebest, and they had a thread going on there about OGL development. However, it's been a while since anybody posted any progress. I bet you Aftermath has his own little private bot working now, however.

Idk how we are supposed to sign up to the forum when the math question he gives us isn't even a question?

Cos((11(Pi))/6) = sqrt(x)/(y/24). Express your answer in the form of "x,y", without quotations.

That doesn't even make any sense.

First I was like maybe he wants us to give an x* and y* such that they satisfy the equation: That didn't work.

Then I rearanged to give x in terms of y and y in terms of x: That didnt work either.

wtf?

What are we currently using, if not OGL? What benefits would OGL provide over current?

Just color at the moment. OGL would allow for very easy object finding, as we'd be able to find the coords of all the triangles in an object, without ever having to find any colours. Equally it can find inventory items, and I believe it can detect the current camera angle and pitch (which is very useful for an idea I've had). I'm not sure if it can detect tiles or not..

It sounds like very powerful tool then. Definitely interested, if it gets off the ground, and has no legal issues, would there be any reason to stay with Simba?

I think the plan was to make a plugin for Simba, the same way that reflection worked. I'm not entirely sure about legal issues, because we aren't accessing or modifying any Jagex code, simply intercepting the graphics information being sent to the graphics card.

From what I read D3D hooking will not be _much_ harder to accomplish. And this will work with the current SRL-lib, as rs it's programmed for low def.

So how come no one's talkin about Direct3D hooking? Anyone ever tryed, or read somethin' about it? :)

D3D is only available on windows, and it also uses more resources than OpenGL, so for those who want to run multiple bots, or those with lower spec PCs, OGL is far more preferable.

OpenGL and D3D won't work I believe because it won't be compatible with the current srl as srl is meant to be used with safe mode. It would take a ton of color changing to make them work together I believe.

The whole point is to not use color, and to use opengl…………

We were talking about the plugin for simba to support Opengl. The plugin would be using opengl, not color.

kitchenrange

That is what the plugin would be using yes..

He is stating that even if we did incorporate a plugin using OpenGL, we would still need color in places that OpenGL can't handle.

"None". All the graffics is rendered through OpenGL. But in a few cases it would be preferable to use colour (or both). The code behind a dll-injection like this will be harder to edit if/and when something was changed in RS (EG: randoms), than by just letting the script-developers/and users select colours in the script (as we do now), instead of hardcoding something that will in time change in the dll.

In cases like road walking, banking, tabs(in general), randoms and similar it might be preferable to use colour, bitmaps (and sometimes also opengl). A dll-injection would be strict (no "tolerance"). So, by letting the script-developers use colors, it will "always" be up-to-date. Randoms change a lot, this is a case where color, will be great. But also, in this case it would help with OpenGL.

OpenGL should be used to simplefy the scripting, by grabbing rendered NPC, item, text, and blocks (like a tree or a mineral/rock), and then some. And for redundancy in some cases.

From my point of view: It can all be done through a dll-injection/OpenGL (by just reading rendered data). But OpenGL should not replace colour, nor should it replace bitmaps. It is smart to have both alternatives, for redundancy and "smartness" in scripts.

Trust–color is the way to go.
Funny how high-tech reflection/injection bots are broken, but good old low-tech Simba is still working.

Yes, in the end color is the only bot they cannot break but is has very limited functionality. If we could get a OpenGL Wrapper working it would almost get to the point where it was before the bot nuke. Bots like Idung would become possible again.

TRiBot+TOGL Eta

The predicted release date of TRiBot+TOGL is between Feb 22 - March 2. A more specific release date will be released when nearing total completion.

It appears that TRiLeZ has been quite busy :)

The answer to the math question posted earlier is x=y/32 and y=32x

> solve(cos(11*Pi*(1/6)) = sqrt(x/((1/24)*y)), x);

1
-- y
32
> solve(cos(11*Pi*(1/6)) = sqrt(x/((1/24)*y)), y);

32 x

Use Maple to solve, you can could use WolframAlpha probably as well.
