He is totally right. You mods need to clean up your stuff, Brak even told you to. Don't you guy's remember the memo he sent out? You should all be an example to this community. I overtime should keep the warnings because they are justified. But in reality, your warnings don't mean shit, just look at my profile. If I were a mod, I would be ashamed to have all those forum posts still up, and I think you guys have better things to do then terrorize the community over a picture, even though you have that shit up here yourselves. Oh I just wonder whats in the mod only section. Probably swearing up a storm.

Running a forum with 7891 active users, you cannot see everything. Nor can I control the actions of the other staff. HOWEVER, there are rules, and I will support those rules when I see the, broken.

If you are unhappy here, by all means, leave. Simple solution.

Higher ups sometimes cruse more freely up there, because we can and we all all MATURE about it etc etc.

You don't know, and no one else's are public either (unless a mod/admin says so) or if the person makes a crying thread about it.

Infractions/Warns can only been seen by mods, and it doesn't matter if it's seen or not, just that you get them for breaking rules.

Announcement/Reminder made to mods to stop it and be professional.
And all of these threads have made it clear to the public to stop it.

Sounds like there should be a revision of the rules. No swearing in any forum by any user other than in the BBQ pit forum.

You are totally correct about swearing as a form of venting, they say swears are tied to the limbic system, which controls our emotions while all other words are not. So yes, swearing is a good thing, but I believe i should only be in the BBQ pit, and no where else by any user.

Agreed, i know i have not used this section.
But to be able to Blow off Steam and to Vent is, in my eyes what this section is all about.
I try to follow the rules, but if those who have power break the rules why should they be followed?

A Reprimand, should be given to whoever, even if an Admin themselves have a slip up. they should be reprimanded by their fellow admins.

We actually started revising the rules set 3 days ago.

We are rearranging, rewording and revising to make it easier to read and more concise.


I plan to address this topic in my first revision draft. (Should be done in a couple days).

I think they should be revising the rules around here about swearing, getting together and doing it as Mods. They need to be following the same rules everyone else is.

BTW, that don't look that old, 10 days isn't that long ago.

As for scripting, I'm learning, but it isn't going to be my degree so I do it in my free time, maybe I will produce something in the future, but that isn't your right to judge me by. I know i have not written any content, or any scripts. but i have been a member here for all but a year, i am not in the mindset of saying any one is right or wrong, but What was stated this is the Barbeque pit, its meant for a Venting of the Hard days, the time to Blow off steam, not to tell one individual or a group to leave.
I know frustration plays a big part in this, but people are entitled to their opinions, and if they Vent/Say what is on their minds, why do you have or feel the need to tell them to leave?

My white flag won't be ready till I quit SRL so your going to be in for a while depending on when I decide to leave.

As for PMing vs. a thread.. This is a BBQ Pit bro.. get with the program. It's the community's right to know what's going on.. it's the same thing as pushing away non-members rather than pointing them in the right direciton. I'd say your attitude about this is wrong. As said before, I have already began rewriting and revising the rules before this ordeal even began. So really, as p1nky said, there is nothing left to argue.

Hope you take this conversation to heart then when writing those rules. As for having rights, you are totally correct. We don't. We have privileges, and so do the moderators. One of those privileges should not be "you can cuss and swear in any forum you choose", because if that is the case, this is a sad sad forum.

I agree with Hamster, spitting it all out is hardly descriptive. I spit all my words out? I spit all my broccoli out at supper time? I spit out all my gum after I chew it? We really can't tell, I think a new description as well as a rule should be put into place. This swearing concept in the rules is getting mighty complicated, and I agree with Harry, if swears are used in useful context, then it isn't really any big deal, but we probable should stay away from it.

No one is bashing on the staff.. A post was made public, we chose to add thoughts to it. Where is the problem there? What is the BBQ Pit for? Do you see anywhere that I put down the staff or do you just choose not to see it as helping out another member for my own beliefs of what is right vs. wrong? As far as I know when I got an infraction, I responded to Zytex in PM.. it wasn't public.. when I got my other one for the same topic only minutes after which was explained on a thread about this exact same topic and I hold no harsh feelings toward Zytex or Kyle for infracting me.. an explanation was all that was needed.. Now for this thread, three threads were closed for him asking WHY in a NOTA section and pointing out the enforcers caught in the act as well. What's wrong with that? He chose to make his infraction public.. big deal.

If the staff really didn't want this public, it'd be deleted/closed by now.. Don't you agree?

Want to know why? There are proper ways to say "NAUGHTY WORDS". Use them in extreme cases, don't overuse them, and if you're going to post them then make sure your post actually contributes to the discussion. Your post didn't, so I can see why he gave you a warning. Post quality is more important than the language used within it.

I have always used those words maturely till i received a warning and brought all those words out one 1 thread.

and privileges should not be abused. Mods getting away with swearing is not right, if it is a privilege for them, it should be stated in the rules. That script is kept private, not a soul has it except for the members section. It will remain that way and he knows that. He hasn't pm'd me but a few others rather pm'd asking for it and the answer was the same as before.. No. Learn to script. There are tutorials by Yohojo showing how to do this.. with a link. The only scripts I link to is my own Armoured Zombies Killer and Waterfiends without the summoning method. My soulwars was found on Pastebin but is incomplete so even then users cannot use it..

I'm only helping out Overtime in a topic which I feel needs to be discussed on some level or another as I was infracted for almost the exact same thing.. Actually I was infracted for called someone retard for implying me being stupid. I think the rules need to be changed and they are. I think this forum name should be changed, it is being changed. Flight's nature script works fine now. When it first came out, it had bugs of course and was deemed bad. This is when jagex first put that crap item shape changing stuff.

None of us have sufficient "Proof" as we cannot see his infractions unless he shares it.. It's still arguable that because he is a mod, nothing was done.. that's it.. Not actual proof. The only proof shown was rule breaking. Anyway he isn't going to respect staff until they have respect for themselves and not break the rules as well.. As stated before, we all signed up to the SAME rules so it's only fair they apply to all which is the entire point of this thread which is now getting derailed like crazy.

P.S. if no slips are made (discussed the last time), threads like these won't even exist.. There is a need for details in the rules.. Might not be changed but details should be added.. If correct, there is a rule against drunk posting.. Everytime there is a big mess up and stuff made public, your going to see all sorts of users commenting whether or not they are de-repped or liked.

Actually it made you think about the way the inappropriate language rule should be reformed as otherwise it probably would have stayed the same.

It really did not change my perspective in any way. This whole thing merely annoyed me, so please don't tell me what it did and did not do for me. I think I can judge that for myself thank you.

What is everyone complaining about; rules are RULES. As SRL members we can't say who actually got in trouble and who didn't (We can't see..) so simply get over it and move on.
