Go to runescape homepage and load the client to get the new update and SMART should work.

If you've waited like 5 minutes, and it still doesn't pop up, then go to runescape and load the client, which will load the update.

Maybe a problem with java. Try re-installing it?

Checked runescape forums and many players are having same problem. I'll just wait it out. It was working perfectly this morning so its probably from the recent update.

Argh…. I can start it for legit play opening like 10 instances and praying 1 loads, but opening it with a smart client is no dice.
