RID has released a new bot!

shadowmarkus

They spent months on working on a new bot, everyone was excited hoping for a Runecrafting bot, or something else useful.

They released a damn Firemaker. Something which could be written, atleast for Simba, in a matter of hours. :duh:

I am dissapoint.

BUT, it seems that more than 1 bot is in the works atm. So who knows what he releases next.

We never really did have 'serious' competition after the nuke.

RID is a one man job, he uses actural cv stuff in his bots which is impressive. Its also quite a neutral and open community. Besides, his MTA still works quite oke even now days.

i think this post made by RiD on the robotzindisguise forums works here to

From: RiD
This bot was put out as a quick release to fill the time while I'm working on a couple of other bigger projects. I've said before, I plan to make bots for all skills. I'll make more bots you don't like I'm sure, but if you want to max out your account like I do, then you'll be happy with what you get.

Well, the main problem with RID is not the payment for me, it's the limited options. There's no All in one fighter or anything. We have to train our skills HIS way. And some of the ways are perfect. But PC for instance is way outdated, and the xp can be easily matched.

But the great thing about coding, is if you lack a script for something, you can make it yourself.

And as it is right now, all the good spots aren't filled with bots, so if you make a script, you basically got the spot for yourself.

I dont mind training skills his way as long as it gets the job done and is undetectable

Poor guy, it'll take ages to get to us as we are currently… by the time he will, we'll probably be on SRL 10. LOL

Meh we're colour, they're colour.. No biggie.. what I wanna know though is how are they able to grab colours while in software mode and we're stuck in safe mode(most CPU intensive mode)..

Other than that well it's kinda expected to have some disappointment.. He's doing it on his own! I dunno if stubborness is holding him back from opening up the API or maybe he thinks it'll lead to the cracking of his scripts which probably already happens or maybe the profit is keeping it closed as all the money goes to him really.. since no other scripter can release anything paid.

We can get colors on software mode(or any other mode for that matter), its just that most of the things in the include use safe mode(like sps) and thats why we use safe mode. Also, safe mode is the least CPU intensive, when I use safe mode it only requires ~180Mb vs ~330(almost double) for software mode.

Yep yep. I have respect for him that he's able to maintain it all on his own. I guess for this fact 100% of the profit goes to him, no? The difference is we have a community to back up SRL & Simba. Multiple scripters, and we're all working for a common goal.

Software mode is definitely the most CPU intensive. Personally I get the least amount of lag with min settings on OpenGL. Not sure how hard it would be for SRL to use tho.

SafeMode for me is absolutely the most CPU intensive.. it's pure CPU usage to render graphics.. OpenGL is the best mode.. Software doesn't lag me as much as Safemode.. 60%-80% CPU Usage in safemode..

And no we cannot grab colours in any other mode.. I tried.. Put ur settings to OpenGL, select client, grab colours using GetColor or GetColours.. Every single one will return 0.. Aka Black. Now do the same on safemode with the same functions and points.. You'll get a colour. Using the colour picker though, you'd get colours in any mode.

What graphic settings do you use?(hd? or normal?)

Ive just tried it on every single mode and it works(getcolor/findcolor….), maybe something wrong with your computer?

People were talking up the next RiD release as something special. Oh well, just a Firemaker. *Goes back to learning Simba* :)

Aufi

2012-02-02 06:53:56

Err, I don't understand the arrogance with all the Simba users against RiD.

The firemaker was actually written and put up in beta within one day. This isn't what RiD has been working on for the past few months, oh my, it was simply a gift to the Staff members on RiD for Christmas.

And to the above poster, yes, the next release will be something unique.
