How Long have You Played Runescape?
10 Year(s)

Are you affilated in anyway with Jagex LTD?
No

Were you Referred to SRL?
N/A

What is your general programming knowledge?
Java (very strong)
C/C++ (reasonably strong)
Pascal (scar/simba only)
Python, VB, C#, DOTNET, LISP (barely touched)

Database systems i.e. SQL, eXist….

Modelling languages i.e. emphatic, ocl, ATL….

Lower level stuff: VHDL, Verilog, ARM Assembly

The list could go on a bit more but I think that's enough :D (I'm a 4th year CS student btw)

Are you a member of any other communities?
I have been a mostly non contributing member of powerbot and rsbuddy. (i.e. not writing public bots, just private)

Tell us about yourself…
From: edfromhumanresources
I'm currently a CS student in the UK from the UK. I spend my days sleeping, attending lectures, missing lectures because I was sleeping, procrastinating on coursework deadlines, rushing to meet coursework deadlines, playing video games, raving to electronic music, swimming, running, scuba and free diving.

I haven't been playing RS solid for 10 years. I started playing in classic as f2p when I was like 11. I played for a few years, then took a massive break for like 8 years or so, and didn't play(bot) again seriously till free trade was reintroduced recently.

Please show us one (or multiple) of your scripts.
I've written a number of scripts in the past but kept them all private.

Asside from runescape I've uses scar/simba for other videogames such as EVE Online where I made a number of scripts for things such as running courier missions to, mining ice in ice belts.

Most of my scripts for scar/simba are very old and probably no longer work. This is because any spare time I've had to script I was writing java code for rsbuddy/rsbot untill recent events.

So i'll link you to a nice simple script I just wrote for runescape. It takes logs from the sawmill and fletches them into arrow shafts for mad monies. It only supports one player but it should be completely failsafe. Oh and no "anti ban", just anti-randoms. You need 80 woodcutting to use this script:

I'll also upload an old EVE Online courier mission runner that may or may not still work. It goes back to basics using vanilla color and mouse functions from scar. Antiban wasn't a problem in EVE like it is in runescape, so there is non, even mouse movements are instant in some cases:

Sorry about that, I didn't realise how it would format it.

No color find function used. Only DTM and FindObject… A no from me.

I reserve myself from voting but would be nice if this was a little bit more complex.

Hey, could please tell what your script does (How functions / Procedures work). And do you mind giving me your msn.

I will make some errors in it, and I would like to see you fix them.

My script makes use of the unlimited amount of normal logs attainable from the sawmill.

It stands in the sawmill(80 wc required), gathers logs into its inventory and fletches them into arrow shafts(which stack so no banking required).

I'm not sure what you want me to explain about my functions and procedures? I tried to make them very intuitive and put detailed comments on the key ones.

It's because I ned to confirm that you really created this script. Not just someone else :) Don't ge offended.

I will hold my vote for now. But you should try doing something more complex.

Good job anyways!

Same as kyle.
You could look in to TPA's which is one of the most accurate object finding methods :)

No problem :). Is there anything else you'd like to know?

It's shame the few complicated scripts I wrote for simba are still laced with reflection calls. When I have some time I'll build a new more complex script from scratch or update one of my old ones.

Could you give me an idea about the kind of complexity you are looking for in a script that I am missing in this one?

I don't look if the script still works, if you got a reflection script which is complex. Not in function but in script qualities than I would be fine with it.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "script qualities"? I don't see how a reflection based script would exhibit any of the qualities required of a color script.

Walking and banking are the usual script complexities that we are talking about. Good work so far though dude!

One thing I really think is important is being community focused, you have 25 posts and have been here for many months. Posting actively not only shows you genuinely care for the community it also helps your chances of getting accepted.

These guides can help you with that:
http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72050
http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66084

For more advanced scripting I would suggest reading these guides:

Anyway, sorry for the roughness. Good luck.

Holding my vote.

No. Script is very clean but doesn't do much or use anything special. Good luck.

Looks like you've got quite a history in CS. I saw a few of your posts a while ago and they were very insightful. If you produce a more updated script its a yes from me.

Thanks for the feedback.

I know my post count is low; Not gonna lie, I've hardly been active here in the past, and when I do post it's generally only on threads I have a strong opinion on or fell I have something valuble to contribute to hasn't already been mentioned. I try not to just hurf blurf to max my postcount, on here or any forum.

Well I had a look around and didn't see any sawmill scripts that do the plank cutting jobs, so I've decided to work on one, do you think that would be substantial enough to use as a replacement application script?

edfromhumanresources

2012-02-01 16:15:52

Sawmill bot is functionally done, it's a little rough around the edges and looks a little "robotic" in places, but works like a charm.

Shall I post it here or create another application thread with it as the script?

Kyle Undefined

2012-02-01 16:27:16

Seeing as it's 0 - Yes and 14 - No, it looks like you're not getting in this time. You have to wait at least 2 weeks(I think) before applying again.

Mat

Kyle I think its minimum of two weeks I had to wait two weeks the first time :)

I don't get how exactly your script works?

if I try to fletch the free logs..

The script I posted in this thread actually got patched to uselessness by Jagex today(would you belive it) so it no longer works.

What it did do was repeatedly pick up a full inventory of logs from the infinite piles at the sawmill and fletch those logs into stackable arrow shafts that could then be taken out and sold. I guess Jagex deemed it an exploit and hotfixed as soon as they discovered it could be done. It was making about 500k per hour per char when it worked yesterday.

If you want to see the sawmill script I just made I posted it in a thread over at the woodcutting section seeing as I can't reapply for 2 weeks anyway.

The poll has closed and you didn't quite make it this time. Please take the suggestions made here and read some more in the tutorial section and improve your script. You may reapply in 2 weeks time.

Cheers
