A quick 'hello' to everyone. I've been a registered user for about a week now and have taken some time to look around the SRL forums. My impression is overwhelmingly positive. Especially what Flight mentions in his sticky from this section that… "This is a programming and learning community first, botting community second". *
I am - and have been - an active and supportive member of the RiD community for almost two years now. Aside from iDungPro, RiD bots are the only ones I've ever used. I'm not looking to farm gold or leech. In fact with a near 2400 total level main there is not much more I even need from a bot, yet I still enjoy the community very much. RiD does amazing work and has saved me a fortune in time. The gp I have made was enough to reinvest and max out the expensive skills. All with no bans or infractions. I have always been mesmerized by the ability and functionality of bots. Finding and exploring the SRL forums seems to be the next logical step. I would deeply enjoy the freedom, privacy, and accomplishment of being able to craft my own functioning scripts. I am very excited about what I've seen on the forums here. The tutorials available are among the best I've ever seen on any forum.
My educational background includes graduate study in philosophy and upper division undergraduate mathematics. I have no programming experience other than the examples I've worked through so far in Flight's beginners Simba tutorial. Yet the practical application of the coding to rs botting is sufficient motivation for me to avail myself of what is here on offer. I appreciate the vast amount of information available for newcomers, such as myself, to Simba and coding in general. I also appreciate the fact that the community is segregated based on an individual ability to produce functioning scripts.
I have not yet used any bots here although I have successfully installed, updated, and begun to practice with the SRL software. Again the video tutorial in addition to the other information available made quick work of my installation and initial troubleshooting. Thanks to you who have invested your time for other benefits in this.
I look forward to spending more time in the forum and getting to know some of you. I'm in no hurry to bot tho I am looking forward with anticipation to scripting my first bot - to cut down a tree in RS.
I think this is the final and logical apex of my botting experience. I too believe in blending in and being undetectable. I enjoy RS and I am adamant about "autoing correctly" as I've heard mentioned from SRL members. My RS accounts are valuable to me and my goal here is to learn to code bots designed to facilitate some of my own activities in RS. Hopefully one day producing something that is of benefit to others as well.
Thank you for reading.
Cheers!
