RuneDream Bot
Dear developers,
Recently I have been doing dome research, and there is a new full colour bot called RuneDream. It has the same specifics as RSBuddy (except no injection). The client itself uses way less CPU, scripts can be added, must log in to use client or use as guest, can use multi clients on 1 client,…
Why coudn't we be that good too?
Yes, we do have the most powerful colour scripts. But they have the client, they're an open source so…. Why wont we do a huge update and be that good too? It is very nice, they have a very good client while ours…lagg and takes many CPU.
Staff, please this is not meant to advertise but it is a suggestion.
Inside is the link of the site so developers can check it. Please, this is not meant to advertise, if any Staff disagree just remove the link.

Thank you, honor.
The only thing I want from any Java client is to be able to multithread with Simba.

The only method they have is a getcolor. No DTMs, bitmaps, tolerance whatsoeever!
*is not impressed.*

Really? They're not better than us. We are open source, Simba doesn't take up a lot of CPU, scripts are added from our website that you download.
If you like it so much, then see ya, we are who we are, we are NOT going to change that because of another color client appears.
Oh, and it's nothing like RSBuddy, except that it's written in Java.

I have never heard anyone complain that Simba uses too much CPU?
Simba does not cause lag either..
From: key
scripts can be added
What does this even mean? With Simba, you just download or write the script you want to use, load it and run it?
From: key
must log in to use client or use as guest
Do you think this is a good thing? Simba is an open source project, anyone can use it for free without any registeration. Which do you think is better?
From: key
can use multi clients on 1 client,…
You mean you can use many players at once on a single bot client?
If so, I give you this. But you can open several Simbas at once.
—
In conclusion, their client is runescape specific, while Simba can be used for many more things. I, for example, have used it to automate some calculations when I did book keeping in the military.
Their client may look better but that eye candy is made for kids who can only handle 1 button on a bot.

Not sure how its like RSBuddy. Its far from complete, the color API still needs lots of work like what Markus said. No OCR yet. They're partially open-source. The API is open-source, the rest of it is not. Its got a long way to go and it'll be interesting to watch its development.

It has other scripts too now, but they're pretty horrible. Once color to find objects, timers for mining instead making sure the rock is mined, no color sorting so it will click objects anywhere on screen no matter where the character is, horrible alchers needing specific magic book setup, every click has coords with very little randomization. There's no "finding" objects really, but coord clicking.

I don't think it's fair to say it only has GetColor Markus, I haven't really looked into it that much but I know that Canny Edgde detection is a pretty cool feature. Although if I remember rightly, Benland made a plugin which performs the Canny algorithm incredibly fast. This should be implemented in Simba IMO.

Runedream is a pointless project atm. They were talking about becoming an opengl bot. But now they settled for color. No point in making color bots, since simba is better and have a larger member base/script base any ways.
People should focus on opengl more.

Ofcourse that is true, but what i think shadowmarkus wants to say is that people who can't script and don't want to try are seeing RuneDream as something amazing. At the moment Simba is the superior client. Well ofcourse that can change, but i highly doubt it due to the fact that simba has been around A LOT longer.

If the world worked this way, we would be so far behind where we are today…competition drives people to be better at what they do. It doesn't matter if you write computer programs, work at a large company in a high paid position, or produce any type of product. You're always trying to be better than everyone.
I like that another popular color bot was released. Simba, right now, is far superior than RuneDream. That is a fact. However, with the attention they're getting, they could create new finding methods very quickly and they probably will advance very rapidly in the next couple of months. All I see this doing is forcing the people here to become even more better than they already are…and the cycle repeats. Again, competition is the only reason why the entire world is where it is today. I feel that color botting has a very, very good future.

No, what I'm saying is, Simba and RID are owning the market.
Would you release a new phone brand, that was in no way better than Nokia, Samsung, and apple?
I'm saying, if they wan't to make a difference, they'd have to go opengl.

I'm actually working on this. The problem with BenLands is that it only paints the edges onto a bitmap. What I'm doing is making a plugin that returns all of the points that are an edge into a TPA. Then a conversion that calculates all the touching TPs thus making an ATPA. Perhaps ultimately return TPAs that are either entirely shapes (surrounded by the points returns), or partially shapes (a defined percentage of points would not have to be completing the shape. In theory this could make colour finding more effective, the mouse wouldn't have to click the points, instead it would click anywhere inside the shape. In addition, I'm using this to determine the pitch of the camera, for the "reflection style" tile system.

before the botnuke i was eble to run 4 rsbuddy clients with 2 acount on each clent(so 8 bots total). Now i run 3 bots with simba, the problem is the pc runs 3x simba and 3x smart. Simba is great but less cpu makes it even beter. And i am happy that the script manager is coming =)

I don't know which pc u have, but i can easily run 10 simba's + 10 smarts at the same time. I often use this to test scripts really good. So no problem for me here :)

Cool, I'd like to see that.
I actually wrote a line detection algorithm in Simba not too long ago using the Hough transform, hit me up if you want me to dig up the source.

Their forums are down 99% of the time, they're already dead.
(Btw, incase anyone cares, I thought about writing a few payscripts for the next "bot" that comes out since there's a massive demand, but that might not be a very good idea as it seems that Jagex is also able to sue the scripters, according to the message they left at RSCA)

Nah. You're writing a script for a program. You aren't hacking into their client and using game data. Simba does nothing wrong, it's not MADE for runescape, you just happen to be able to create code that can automate mouse movements that can play games.
whats the message n3ss3s?

That's what everyone is saying. RuneDream will develop very quickly I think…but SRL at the moment is far more advanced and superior to them right now. Who knows what the next few months will bring.

RiD is, they even charge money, but like us they don't alter anything within the client. Infact, they don't even load the client. We do, but it's option, and we also have nothing to do with altering code. They can only
try to stop us through the game, they cannot take any legal action.
Richard

Technically we are able to load the client without viewing the adverts, not sure if that's a legal thing or not, but it's definitely against ToS. But nearly everyone has an ad blocker, so loads of legit players won't have ads.

Personally, I think RuneDream seems like a (potentially) good alternative. Give them a bit of time to develop some more, and hopefully, they'll grow. A little competition never hurt anyone, right? ;)
Plus, I'd love to have some motivation to learn Java :)
EDIT: I also recall a pretty cool color bot made in C#. It had great potential, but… not sure what happened to that.

Ah, yes, that was it. ScionBot… I enjoyed scripting in an object-oriented fashion.
Truly, Simba and SRL have it all… except full-fledged object-oriented programming. I mean, MSI emulates it pretty closely… but still, it's a language limitation.
It'll be cool as a scripter trying to import my Simba/Pascal knowledge to Java :)

I looked around that site and thought it was a waste of time. You guys have been around for ages and I've been watching you grow from the backgrounds as I was a scripter for Powerbot. I didn't like the original SCAR from way back but that was because I didn't understand it. Now and I'm older and less stupid I can see that it's clearly the way to go, although I still have to say java scripting is much simpler. This can't be trumped. They will make their changes to make it more difficult, but honestly, the only way they can change this game to a point where Simba will not be able to work is for them to make it a full fledged walking style game, meaning putting out an RS3 where you play as you do int WoW or SWTOR.
