Well, I was arround in F2P for some time and I'm seeing people advertise a bot, called ''Project Neptune''. So I click on the link and it opens up this really bad setup and it tries to persuade you to download a bot called ''SimbaBot''. This looks really leeched, it's just Simba.exe.
Obvoiusly, not safe, anything we can do about this?
Note: CLICK AT YOUR OWN RISK, OPEN ON A VPS AND IN A SANDBOX
Website: keylogger
I can remove the link, if you guys want.

Well I clicked it.. and well I see our scripts there.. I didn't download the bot.. I just clicked the link to the site and pressed FreeScripts on the left.. Oohhh and TI meant to edit this post before we were getting ddos'd.. Their HTML Code for the site points at epicbot for one of the links :S That's about it.. their video tutorial might be one of Yoho's OR maybe not because the name says Simba V2..

Send a DMCA takedown request.
You could also send him a nice piece of postal mail requesting he cease his illegal activities.

How does this DMCA thing work?
I've never registered my script for copyright or anything… So how could I prove that I am the author?
Does it cost money to do a DMCA takedown request?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_ActAnything you make it automatically copyrighted. You don't have to ``file'' anything other than a takedown request. Not to mention that inside the script it has your username and links back to villavu (I think so anyways).
No. However, failure of an ISP (if you want to send one to his hosting) to act upon it can result in legal issues for them. Sending a DMCA takedown request is a simple email, and costs nothing unless you wish to take them to court over it.

Thank you for explaining, Harry.
I will look into this further. It really is not nice when people distribute or even profit off my work without me acknowledged.

What's up with the "_MSI.simba" file? Also, they leeched my RangeGuilder :p Too bad it's not updated and is broken.
Going to DMCA it just so people don't fall for this.
Perhaps they thought they'd make a second MSI.simba. :p
I never knew scripters had such power over their creations. To be able to file DMCAs, that is. Quite amazing.

I don't know about it, but i do know that everything advertised in runescape itself (including livestreams etc.) are keyloggers.

I just find it funny that the site says Simba V2 when we're not even on V 0.99 yet -__- well the nightly build is but 0.99 - 1.00 isn't even released yet!

People these days… Can't think of their own idea so instead of helping the idea that is already out they copy it and claim it as their own.
Yeah everyone who has been affected please dmca.
If anybody would like I am willing to also DMCA, otherwise I think the situation is under control.

As for the bot itself, as far as I can tell it's a clean copy of an older version of Simba.

It's not, it's much too large. The guy also makes keylogger tuts on YouTube and spreads it with that.

Sure, there is the tendency to want to retaliate, but this can be worked out with words. Do not stoop to their level.

Things like these make me cry *crying*.
People instead of learning, they copy the ideas from the others and then our work goes down the toilet.
Let's tell Jagex to sue them, since they've been sueing everyone and everybody…

I regret to inform you that we actually have 7 categories (and couple of subcategories) but no Simba V2. Dream on ;)
Just file DMCA takedown requests, as we are in our rights to do so.
