DemiseScythe Sudoku.

Today, while on IRC, DemiseScythe brought up about a Sudoku script. I noticed her (/notice, not /msg), asking her to hush about it. However, she continued in public, saying 'its not a secret any more'.

Judging her personality, I wouldn't doubt her making a sudoku script, then either releasing it publicly or distributing it via private message.

It seems tradition-like to stifle anything about Sudoku getting out on the forums. Should anything be done in this situation. I know it does seem premature, but I think it's necessary.

On an unrelated not, I found it interesting that she has a scripting cup, but didn't know why 'for i = 0 to high' was giving her an error. Some one had to point out to her that it was missing the assignment operator. And it wasn't a mere mistype - she didn't know that := was needed.

Well if she's giving out info about the SSRL Sudoku then that's against rules and something needs to be done about that, but should she make one herself and release it, then that's her own choice.

Don't worry about her writing one. Can't just make a DTM of every possible combination.
The very first version also used DTMs for rune detection but it was slow and less accurate, that's why we switched over to using 81+1 getcolors which is really, really quick.
Demise can do a few things (DTMs) really, really good, but that's it! The members app didn't even use any functions and was quite messy imo, not members worthy. The recent random solvers no doubt show her ability to create working stuff, but they also show inability for writing structured code.

Markus' crippled version of Ali Raper is already in FFA, another shitty one won't hurt anyone… Plus he probably doesn't have the required insanity to make it go at the speeds we are at

EDIT: oo I logged in and see Drunkdrive botting it, hes ´DD in #SRL :D

Gl finding the FFA version, it's not at SRL anymore, nor in google cache ;)

You could ask her to hush down about it, but there's no much we can really do. The method is no secret, and Wanted said he was making one for SCAR anyway. I'd say take advantage of it while you can. ;)

Okay, maybe this Demise negativity situation is getting a bit ridiculous..? lol.

I strongly disagree with your infraction of Bnagy, "take a chill pill" isn't really offensive language. Same with those other infractions. They aren't really insulting. Maybe even an official warning is harsh.

Good question, why isn't he banned yet?

Well THAT is one really clear case of back-seat moderating, which actually is an infractable offence. Those 8 words illustrate how she managed to get a large part of the community against her in those 2 months.

From: DemiseScythe
Of course you did not buy it in Villavu, I think mods would know if you did and they are on all their right to ask inquiry on a possibly leaked script. You became part of this community, you listen to those above you and follow the rules.

Again, she's not the mother of that guy! Backseat moderating.

Here, one reported post of her.

The DTM mastery, well DTMs is the only thing I have mastered, mainly the reason I choose to work alone, can't stand TPAs and SPSs, and others will most likely just want to use those to make this script. I work with DTMs and DTMs only besides some SRL functions.

SPS is far too slow, i can agree there. However, for walking i'd much rather use a DDTM. Because, after all if you can auto color any of your points you'll get a faster and significantly more accurate result then if you have to increase tol.

a DTM is a tpa. Seriously, it is. It's just points connected to colors. The only difference is a DTM is a TPA already put together and you cannot change it.

In that entire thread she acted like 'RAGE RAGE RAGE DONT DARE TO SAY TPA'. The original post had in it 'Mods will remove off-topic posts'. Erhm I can decide for myself what I want to remove and what not, no need for the new gal to tell us what to do.

I wasn't prejudiced when I first heard of her. Ok that members app was crappy but worked, same with those antirandoms. "Well I could use arrays and nice seperated functions but coh3n is going to redo those anyways". Am I captain obvious when I say that rewriting wouldn't be necessary when it was done right in one go? Then they could be put in SRL right away. I'm not even starting of that ragequitting when someone told her the truth about a few things, or deleting that great (now undeleted, wanted to read it myself) DTM tutorial when Narcle said something about everyone using it nowadays and that that might not be a good thing. Idk what's going on in those brains but I can just feel there are some issues.. I'd say it to her in her face but I'm not subtle and she probably can not handle it and will think I hate her blablabla.

Everyone probably thinks now that I am on some personal crusade against Demise. I'd like to stress this is not the case. I'm just annoyed at times and would like to see it 'fixed'. There is some good character there inside, but with a few irritating traits.

I think everyone has irritating traits, she just chooses not to hide it. :p

I really really really don't think her tutorial should be deleted. That's completely stupid in my opinion. She's not forcing anyone to use it, and I've already said I don't think using DTMs over TPAs is bad, it just depends on the situation.

To be honest, I can't blame her attitude. Everything she does she gets attacked for, so why should she be cheery and up beat? Hell, I know I wouldn't be.

I noticed that too. Yeah, she could/should handle things different, but she does get ripped apart a lot simply because she uses DTMs in a way no one has before.

Why don't I get attacked? What's the difference between her and me?
There are no looks at SRL. You don't judge someone by the name. We didn't know her before she came here. Conclusion: 100% her own fault?

Could be, but 90% of people completely disagree with her DTM methods, so that probably didn't help.

I dunno if that's the complete reason for it. There's a bunch of diversity in scripts and I don't see many put-downs when people learn about the usage of something new. What I personally think the reason is, is simply because she boasts (is that right? boasts?) her methods to be "above-all", "unbreakable". This isn't common on the forums, when you compare your work to someone else's and claim it to be superior, do you not expect them to retaliate? It's hard to put out a fire with gasoline.

/agree

In that app I didn't point to her at all.
The guy in the app even contacted me in IRC and I helped him out a bit.

I've talked to her at least once/twice about her DTM setup. She won't take advice even if it makes coding it easier, while it amounts to the exact same thing - the use of DTMs (this was week+ ago). Yet she'll "boast" about it while it could be improved… So I just ignore her conversations when it comes to coding.

C'mon Markus, you know as well as I that I, myself, dislike her methods and attitude, but that thread is over the top to be honest. Especially with footballjds and the ones below that quoting him…

I look at Bagny's post now and wish I could renege my infraction, because after reading it a second time (today, when I'm wide awake and alert), I do realise that what he stated wasn't really offensive language.

However, that being said, I do not disagree with infracting footballjds and the ones that quoted him…

C'mon, you said you blame the tutorials. What other tutorial uses DTMs for object finding like she does? If you didn't explicitly mention her tutorial, it was definitely implied. At least that's how I took it, and obviously she took it the same way. If that wasn't intended, I apologise.

I reversed the infraction you gave him, and infracted him for his de-rep comment. I've never liked footballjds's attitude, I think he's very arrogant, and I don't like the way he treats people.

Yes, I think Demise can handle comments differently, but I also think some people (not pointing any figures because I don't remember everyone who commented) could be nicer to her.

I never look at tutorials anymore… I knew AFTER I posted it that it was based off her tutorial because the app told me. It could of been any random ass tutorial as far as I was concerned. It looked bad _to me_ and I helped him with it, and I wasn't the only one that agreed.

1. I can see that she deleted it the most recent time, but why was it removed the first time?
2. I didn't tell her, in case you were wondering.

And I'm not sure who gave her the tutorial or randoms development cup.

I've never told her anything in these higher up threads, but I think WT gave her the Tut cup. I remember seeing him post that on her Tut thread.
