Hey guys,

I've had a server box set up for a while (not officially, but just a box that runs my apache server/ventrilo/etc with windows xp). This gives me remote access from my laptop to this computer so that I can run my bots while I'm at class. It's a Dell Dimension 2400, so it's kinda old.

It's got 1 gig of ram (lol), 7200 rpm hard drive, and I recently just installed an Nvidia GeForce 6200 with 256mb dedicated graphics.

My concern is, after installing the video card correctly (and disabling onboard video by uninstalling it and setting BIOS option to AUTO), SMART still yields very very low frame rate on software mode.

So my questions, to anyone who can answer:

What video drivers does Runescape load when entering software mode? I still figure it's grabbing onboard video instead of my GeForce..

Why am I still getting a very low frame rate with smart?

What should I do? (no new computer please. :P)

New computer or nothing.. there is nothing u can do.. I have a dell dimension 2400 sitting in my living room collecting dust.. also has xp on it.. its way too slow to run rs.. frame rate is like 12fps.. No matter what ur gunna lag.

Can always try MSConfig and turn off some of the start up services.. task manager kill some of them.. CCleaner your reg and cookies n stuff.. Defragment.. thats ur only choice other than a new computer.

The processor isn't THAT bad, and it's upgradable is it not?

If your going to upgrade a dell2400 ur wasting ur money.. that processor is a single core -__- the dell2400 just sucks now bro.. it used to be good when I just got it.. was like 1999 or something.. It was good on just XP then service pack 3 came out and bam.. almost exploded it.

A single core comp isn't going to do you any good anymore. Even netbooks are dual core.

That is a 3ghz processor though so.. iunno but I just don't like 1 cores.. Also you'd have to upgrade ur ram.. no point of pagefiling everything.
