I searched and I am not sure if my understanding is up to date. But is it the easiest way to grab text from the screen is to use GetTextAtEx()?
My target is to grab some text which has the font UpCharsEx in a Tbox.

Yes, thats the right function. But you have to tweak the parameters a little bit.
I looked at the functions in a previous old post about setting up this function. I don't get how the minspacing and maxspacing parameters are filled in. Can anyone explain?

Use GetTextAtExWrap its better. (uses a box too)
min/max spacing is the space in pixels to the next character. hspacing is height
