Random dev DemiseScythe

DemiseScythe needs a box cup for obvious reasons. Really great work, she should teach us all how to use DTMs.

Yep. Has he shown any of his random-solvers?

*she/her.
I saw her drill demon yes. Cohen saw quite a few more (mime/evil bob)

Agreed.

I want to wait until her solvers are actually in SRL before giving her the cup. Or at least until the system is in testing stages.

Sure if one of them gets into SRL.
Btw be careful with her… She's quite arrogant and seems to be full of herself.

Yes, and she gets annoyed over the littlest things.

Yeah, I'd say wait until we're actually using her work to give her the cup. But if/once we are, definitely yes.

Yeah that's true she / he told me to go f*ck my self. :P Because I asked some Random accounts :P

But she / he is otherwise nice and really know about DTM's.

Idk typical woman imo. XD

Bebe doesn't count, she's one of the guys. <3

Edit:
I question the longevity of her random solvers.

Slimeball xD

I also want them seeing tested.

I noticed this in a few places. I couldn't agree more.

That's what I've tried to explain to her over irc. Shedidint seem to want to listen and said it worked best for her. I also tried to explain some of the drawbacks of dtms -increased resource uasage, slow, often hard to maintain. She didnt want a bar of it.

I'm going to agree with you and the typical woman thing as well.

I think I continued the conversation. She just is dead set on DTMs and saying how they'll last forever. I really don't call people out, but it's like she's 'fickle arrogance'.

I mean that aside I think its awesome she's working on random solvers and has functional ones (for now).

DTMs do not use up much resources. Trust me, I've seen exactly what they take up, and in Simba, it's next to nothing. Using speed/resources as an argument against DTMs is pointless because you'll never be able to tell the difference the way we're using them.

I dunno, I think this is one of the few things I could debate. In my Granite miner I originally use DTM-searching to search for all 4 gems before dropping a certain slot. I noticed something was seriously slowing it down so I started looking there. Sure enough it took roughly 300ms every time to search even just for 4 DTMs, just 4… What I did as a replacement was first look for the 4 different colors, in that slot, using CTS1 to increase speed as much as possible. Should any of the 4 colors be found in the slot then I would then DTM-search to determine which gem it was. Sure enough, it was lightning fast.

The second experiment was DTM-searching each piece of Granite I got after receiving 1 ore (to determine how much XP to add overall). Again, search for the 3 types of Granite through DTMs slowed things down dramatically so now I use the XP bar & math to get gained XP, and also again it's lightning fast.

Yes DTMs are accurate, no doubt, but at what cost to speed?

I'm curious to see how you used it, because I'm 99.9% sure they're not that slow.

Damn who gave her the cup..? :duh:
But I like how her attitude shows already, so we won't need to argue over wheter or not accept her as SSRL anytime soon.

Lawl, there's nothing special about how she uses DTMs. She doesn't even use TIntegerArrays, so if she needs 10 DTMs, se has a different variable for each of them and she repeats a lot of code.

Ummm, I just agreed with it..
I'm old enough to have my own opinion about something dude, I don't need to steal some of others.

Oh btw, I also agree about her attitude, and not because I just went off the comments mentioned above, but because I actually do some research too:

I don't mean Usage of DTM's but how to create them. I tried to explain her about arrays.. Well you can guess the answer :P

EDIT: Well she was not very keen to learn.

Same here. I ask myself how she does it :)
I even think it's a bit weird. Or she's very good, or there's something wrong, I mean she's new..xs
Oh well maybe I'm being too careful?

Kyle Undefined

She's good at what she does, but her attitude can vary drastically. It's probably the woman thing. Lol, she just seems dead set in her ways. She seems totally different on IRC though, so I don't know.

Coh3n

2012-01-20 14:22:47

When I rewrote her Demon solver, she liked it and said she didn't quite understand the arrays part yet, but she seemed keen to figure it out. She's really nice from my experience, but I've only really talked to her on IRC. Her actual knowledge of scripting techniques is pretty low, but damn she's good at making things work flawlessly.

Gu3st...

2012-01-20 15:40:19

I feel kinda sick about this "it's probably because she's a woman." thing going on in this thread :(

On the other hand: I agree 100% with the cup. She truly deserves it, and yes, her attitude could be better, but I kinda like it too…

Markus

2012-01-20 16:37:18

Her scripting knowledge is really low, but for some reason the things she does work well. I still think the members app was rubbish and the random solvers are messy as hell too, but that's judging a book by its cover.
Those mood swings are annoying though, we don't want her here for now. Feel free to cuss her out a bit, you got my permission. Gotta fight fire with fire in this case.
