Nothing is making me rage more lately than all of these annoying new users who flame if you don't give them what you want, and will flame more when you try to get them to put effort into learning.

Most recently, with the release of Home's "Assemble Yourself" Range-Guild script, there have been far too many comments relating to someone not feeling like doing it themself. If one doesn't want to put effort into scripting, they should suck it up and not use the damn script, not complain and ask others to give it to them.

All these people, I hate you and want you to burn in hell.

Yes there are new users that are helpful, and are putting real effort in. To you few, hats off, you are the cream of the crop that SRL exists to help assist your growth. If you are listed above, I hate you.

i look at mine and most of them is complaining that they are getting errors, they were even posting on some of my old outdated scripts :confused:

im think i might move VV to the members and the public can send me a PM with a small questionnaire that i will write out, they will be simple questions that anyone with half a brain will be able to answer them. If they answer them then they can use the script, simple!

Wouldn't surprise me if 1/2 the people would create threads in the help section asking for the answers to the exact questions you asked. Other than that, that is actually a very cool idea. It's actually like what I had in mind for the insurance a person was competant for Jr.Member.

Then we get 1000 threads in scripts requests section "OMG WHERE DID BOT GO", etc.

I just ignore most of their questions now. You should see how many emails I get daily from YouTube kids sending me messages and posting on my video unable to follow simple directions.

I wish I could just ignore them, my personality makes that very hard to do. I always feel the need to attempt to help people, then when they refuse help I am forced into rage/butthurt mode.

This is the reason I rarely go to runescape scripts section of SRL anymore :P too irritating haha.

I don't mind someone asking a question if they don't understand something, but don't expect other people to do it for you. They were spoonfed for too long at powerbot and can't do anything on their own now.

I know what you mean, honestly so frustrating. I'm going to lose it if I see many more posts like ("How i work teh bot"). But those quotes are pretty good for the lulz :p

But my 2 sense here is, I am newer also and I am learning things also. I cant help but do whatever I can to help ppl cuz thats what I do and it helps me learn. Just remember we were all noobs at one point, maybe not this leechy, but we were. Who knows, the ppl u asked for help from may have thought the same way about u as u think about these ppl although I agree it does sometimes get funny and annoying. I have not been around long so I dont feel as strongly but I recognize that some ppl just cant do it themselves. I dont know programming so I know its hard although fun, but just try to be a little nicer aboutit and try to ask them/convince them nicely to try. You must have seen my "helping" posts that they are being sarcastic, yeah, I hate our new leechers very much too.

And what about 9001 threads popping up when Jagex makes an update? "Omg, fix your shit up, it's not working, geez!" I don't remember that happening before.

Also the freaking off-topic posts when someone asks about a script problem in a COMPLETELY different thread. Are they that retarded? I honestly don't know any better words for it, they must be retarded …

Oh, and the same questions over and over and over … and over … again.
It's not hard to use freaking search ffs. I usually try searching it myself when they say: "I have been searching this for hours, please help now.", but I remember there have been at least 6 threads with almost similar title.
And guess what? I find the threads via searching usually under 10 seconds, without using my memory to navigate to the threads … Either I am a genius, WHICH I DOUBT or they are, well, they are having IQ problems to say the least.

Those are just average users coming from RSBots.net. Have you guys ever read their forums for the laughs? Heres an example: Someone had posted a thread explaining step by step how to make "alch bot" (overpriced autoclicker) alch 2400 times an hour. Actually he had just set it up incorrect so the script counted every click as an alch and not every second. Paint then displayed "amazing" 150k xp/hr..

It's really sad that it's come to this. I was just looking back at my pm's from 2006, 2007 and 2008. I had so many people pm'ing me and talking to me on msn about script help. Funny thing is, most of them are either senior SRL or dev's now.

I made them work for the help, I would have them explain their understanding of the concept or what they had tried. They were all only too happy to work for it. I had one or two people who basically wanted me to write their script for them, but I just referred them to a tutorial and said talk to me when you understand it. They never came back to me.

It's really sad that people don't want to work or help the community like they used to.

It's not amusing for the person it's aimed at, only frustrating. All others on the outside may find it funny.

We(well, i used to, but the rest of the scripters) work hard on scripts and trying to help others, when we get abused because people are too lazy and expect everything handed to them on a golden platter. This is of course going to make people angry. What right do they have to come in here, take our stuff and not even bother trying to return the favour in any way?

There has been, and always will be leechers. The issue I have is when people try to get the best script without any work towards it.

Honestly i don't really care about them. We should make all the scripts like that so they don't come here lol. Btw maybe we can lend Jagex's BANHAMMUR#%@##@

From my position I can see how the newbies think they can boss around bitches all day, because irl money was in the picture. On the topic of us needing to L2script etc, yeah I agree, although I must say it is quite confusing. Anyway, my overall point is that this really is a well nature'd community, and I hope us newbies don't ruin it for you guys.

I read alot of stuff yet I don't post often, (Not even on the old forums) but when I do – I hope to make an impression.

Well, of course some of the newer users are annoying, and ranting/flaming/insulting, but i seriously dont get, why you have to learn to script, in order to use a script, wich another person has created, if you knew how to script, why would you in the first place even bother looking at the scripting section?

That is the major part that annoys me, i have tried so many times with different programming languages, Java, Pawno, whatever syntax Simba uses, i have tried that, yet not given up completely yet, but im close to, as i cant understand how to start of scratch, and that has allways been my problem when scripting, multiple persons has tried to learn me scripting, yet i can only understand basic scripting, and that is it, i understand a few functions but you cant get me to write anything from scratch, that would work.

Thats why i loved NeXus / Rsbuddy / Powerban, either leech or pay.

I'm also getting tired of the amount of ridiculous requests in the scripts requests section. People don't search at all for god's sake, and lol, I even got a pm that asks me to assemble the range guild in return for him lending me an account to add functionality to my own script. :P

I guess I won't bother with public releases. Some of these guys don't even deserve a powerskiller.

I had no idea how to do anything. I think that should be at least more simple than creating own one.
Basically you just put them inside mainloop with correct order..

As people have probably noticed that I don't script that much more / Release them. Mostly reason is because I get stressed (Yes I get stressed in real life) because some leechers say how fucked up it is. Currently I'm working on SW script with my spare time, I have no rush at all doing it, I do scripting for myself. It's my way to get away from all crap (Sounds odd I know).

But now days, people doesn't respect or even be polite (not saying that everyone is not polite).

I will gladly help everyone (as some people has seen in IRC) I will help them line by line. But all I wan't from you people that you respect what we do here, so you at least could try fix script. Or even make your own?

My first script was Varrock Tea stall thiever it was total crap (It worked).
But the feeling when you see your masterpiece doing what ever it does, it feels great. That's the top reason that I wan't you Newcomers to at least try.

It's the BBQ pit, I made that post on a day when I was extremely frustrated.

I'm not actually a condemning person, stupidity makes me go into rage mode though.

Well there are pros and cons of many new users. I wouldn't only high light the bad side of the newcomers. not that long time ago we had so few new users that our scripts were barely used and we only had like 20 working scripts. Now with the huge wave of new users our scripts gets tested by a lot of them, you might call them leechers but remember that without them this communities scripts section is boring. I personally really like it. And of course there is one bad user for ever ten good users, that just the average amount of assholes per human. Many normal users that just want to bot will not make a post at all, and these zero poster are mostly friendly.

A long time ago I started as a zero poster too, no knowledge about the color/scar botting scene at all. Back then the 10 post for junior members rule made me make 10 posts(all were useful) and participate in this community. Since then a lot has changed and I am a decent programmer, though not in pascal script.

Many new users have the potential to achieve great things and some might become even better then us. I think we shouldn't forget we are a community based on teaching other people how to make scripts. Our learning resources should be spread as widely as possible.

We should encourage as many users as possible to open simba and start the adventure of writing scripts in a mind opening journey which will expand there knowledge on many fields, including programming outside runescape.

Sadly, this is a problem which is hard to deal with. We've gotten ALOT of fresh meat, meaning alot of new people going at scripting, but on the other hand, you get triple amount of leecher going at being a retard.

I vote in favor of a junior member section.
