Offical JBot/RuneDream Thread

Just made this thread because I know soon a bunch are going to be popping up, let's keep all talk about it here.
New bot, written in Java, uses color.
Simba/SRL/SCAR etc have been pwning in color since 2004 and earlier.
Good luck catching up to us…..
No clue if it's any good, safe, etc. They have like 1 ivy cutter out right now which is only about 50 lines of code or less.
It seems super duper beta right now and they don't have very many scripts, code, or anything really yet….
I feel like they released/hyped it up too early before they even have anything to give us, besides a crappy ivy cutter….
It's all just hype so far, but we'll see how far they get….

would reverse engineering work? I've been needing a reason to look in to it, but i'm not sure if this would be a reason.

Did you quote yourself asking a question?
No clue they have a git page but it's empty, seems to be closed source.
Yeah, I quoted myself asking a question I asked in the previous thread right before you closed it. :p
I was wondering if reverse engineering the client would allow one to see the source. I refuse to run it or even sign up on the forums before I see the source. I'm probably paranoid.

Can't they just steal SRL/Simba code since its Open-source, not way to check if they actually will unless Dev gets access to their code which will not happen unless order by a court. Eitherway, it seems fishy to me, not going to try it. Simba does everything I'll ever want and more =)
Well Simba is Pascal and this client is Java. :p They could steal it in a way, I suppose. But they'd have to rewrite everything just to make it in to Java format(?).
E: Can't Java multi-thread? (Is that the word for it?)

Yes, Java can do multithreading. It's also a pain to do properly.

@Demi kind of, except we are pascal they are Java. I guess they can take ideas/theories and convert them to Java.
I'm also staying away too paranoid, no source, new bot, = who knows wtf they can do to us! Way to scary!

Honestly from what I saw it looks really alpha stage, shouldn't of been released.
I wish them the best, but I will be staying here. Open source + Simply better.

Agree, WAY TO EARLY to release AT ALL.
They probably just want tons of accounts to be made, get ad money, click money, etc.
Their ivy cutter is so damn basic….. I doubt anything too special will come out from them anytime soon.

Just get CJBE and you can see the code -__- well the byte code anyway.. which is like the same shit really because it's sooo easy to understand.. Unless the Bot is a .Exe which I doubt.. Most likely a jar.. And if they did encrypt it really well like RSBuddy then the bot is probably going to pwn.

I dislike what they did, they copied PowerBots forum layout. Already put "premium" scripts section, even when this is the EXACT reason nexus is now in this crazy lawsuit. I feel like making money will be their main source to script which like always gets corrupted.

You think it has potential? Why? Not much to see yet?
Or are you saying IF they encrypt it really well it probably means it will be good, since they had to go though the work to encrypt it so well?

Not excluding the fact that they lack any walking function, I don't see why they bothered to release so early. I guess maybe to get everyone to buy vip?

The reason why we released with so little finished was to shut up people who were calling it a scam/fake bot. Just think of this release as further proof that it does work. It is not our fault if people think that because there is a client out, they will be able to bot 24/7 with full anti-ban and every script they could ever need.
Yes, the ivy cutter is not the best script ever. It is the first ever script for the bot. The only reason it is there is so that people can start getting the feel of scripting. NOT for getting 99 wc.

The forum skin does not belong to Powerbot. It is by IPBForum skins.
As for the GitHub, I'm pretty sure it is for the API. The bot itself is closed-source.

According to the guy who made it, once they get their API setup and working correctly, they'll add it to GitHub. I still won't use it, only signed up for the forums so I could ask why the Ivy Cutter only uses one static color for finding the Ivy.

I hope not, I hope they actually stick to what they said and use shape detection, and fuzzy logic. I can't see how either are particularly useful, but it would be nice to be proved wrong.

It's more than that, imagine Simba in Java though. The hostility toward JBot isn't needed. Even though I'll never use it, doesn't mean we have to bash it.
[XoL]
2012-01-17 14:43:06
I agree, I think Jbot could become something but I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. All they managed to do was put a lot of tension on their necks, as now every "leech" will want a script, and the pressure is on.
Only reason I complained about the skin was because it makes it look like they are trying to imply "the new powerbot"; from my standpoint at least.

To expand on this, it'd be like searching for randoms on one thread, finding colors on another, moving the mouse on another, and painting on smart on another.
But instead of doing each thing one at a time, it does each independently. So you wouldn't have to wait for a large on-screen debug to finish before you can move the mouse. You could also check for randoms without that slight (but noticeable) pause.
Pretty neat stuff, tbh. I've no idea how realistic of a hope it is for simba

It's going to take a long time before their API catches up with ours (just the amount of point-handling logic in Simba is ridiculous)… Ofcourse it's nice if the bot will turn out well, classes and multithreading is nice.

I said it COULD. I'd suggest against running it, however there's no proof it'd do any of that stuff at the moment. It's just a possibility. Don't make a thread saying "waah Simba hacked me :(" when someone here uses some other bot that uploaded it.

Only problem with that is we are opensource…so if they wanted they could just convert the entire tpa.pas to java.

That's what the attackers want you to think, the site has been ddosed for over 24 hours and it is a more difficult attack to stop than average ddosing.
I personally believe Jacmob and his tight circle are behind this.

Waiting for website to come up. Open source or not i'll use it. Scar was closed source. Powerbot is open source but who actually compiled the source themselves? Anything could be in that compiled executable.

If you guys are honestly that paranoid about whether or not it's safe, just decompile/RE it?
For the longest time I was thinking RuneDream was the rumored OpenGL bot. Though I guess that's Tribot? I'll probably check it out at some point, but I really have no reason to use this over Simba right now. What I'm curious to see is what's going on with the Tribot/OpenGL development.

It's just used as a precaution. If a user was for example, taken to court, just by reading the Tribot ToS would prove the user innocent because they agreed to the statement that they have no affiliation with RS/they do not play it.
OT: I think they are trying to switch from their $5 host to something a little better. At least that's what I would be doing, especially since a bunch of people have donated money towards the community/bot. That, or it's just a scheme to make a couple of extra bucks, and now they are going to scatter with the money. We just have to sit tight and see. But as someone stated above, I doubt their bot will ever surpass the knowledge and information that this community has. We have been around
much longer, and simply have a much better understanding when it comes to "color botting".

I feel the same way, since they actually have a working bot and people that are absolutely going crazy over it, they'd never run with the money that fast. They haven't made nearly as much as they will in the near future, even with scripts that are so basic it's not even funny.
Honestly, creating the client to look like Powerbot's is a very smart idea. It gives people that comforting feeling, like they're back to what they were doing nearly 3 months ago.

RuneDream is coded in java, which a lot of people find easier to use/more familiar for people from RSBuddy and Powerbot.
RD has a lot of potential. but it's still in it's beta beta beta stages. so we'll see how it goes. until then, SIMBA ftw!

It's probably the ads. IIRC Malwarebytes considers gold4fun (or some other gold selling website(s)) "potentially dangerous" or something.
