It's been almost 3 years since I got banned for macroing, as you can see here:


I was wondering if Jagex ever removes bans such as that, after a set period of time?

I used up my appeals long ago, so I cannot appeal it again.

It appears that most get their accounts back after five years. Thats priviledge hasn't been applied to my banned chars :) So, there is definately a setting somewhere telling to NEVER unban an account.

Well I don't actually need the account I just wanted to see if I could get it back, so its not bad if I don't. The account got banned when Jagex was under control of someone else, not the person who controls Jagex at the moment (correct me if I am wrong) and they had the "If you macro you will not get banned and not unbanned" phase happening then so there is a pretty big chance that I won't get it back :(

They did it twice and more (with account review thread and the banned account reinstatement).

In 2008 ish they made the change to their banned and appeal system, which unbanned some accounts (Macroing).

In 2009 again they made change to the bann and appeal system, this time they took out black mark, which again unbanned some accounts (Macroing).

In 2010 They introduced account review thread, which again unbanned some accounts (Macroing).

In 2011 They Introduced the banned account reinstatement, which lets player pay to get their account unbanned with a GP removal.

In 2012, BAR is likely to return again.

Whatever happened to being able to pay them to re-instate your account back to you depending on what terms it was banned? I remember reading this a while ago somewhere… Apparently they'll put like -30$ credit on your account and to log into it once again you'd pay that off, and voila unbanned, I actually know a few people who had this work for them and they were contacted by jagex themselves, after posting in some thread on RS Forums.

Back in the day I used a macro (literally a mouse movement recorder) to try and chop Yews and I got a blackmark, since then and this is my main the mark simply diminished I don't know if it was a change of heart or maybe my complaint how I was going to become Member in the coming weeks and I wanted a clean slate.:p

i had 2 accouts back , they were banned in 2005 i got em back like a year ago .

I still await my three banned accounts in 2007…

It really depends on what bot you used.
I had one account that unbanned from perm ban 3 times, and it was all simba/scar
One pure that got caught in 2009 and has been banned since was rsbots.net's shitty soul war bot.

I got banned back in 2006 on my main.

The ban was then lifted in 2008.

I doubt this will work. Who is even there in the administration from the [email]parents@jagex.com[/email] readers… I mean what, is a parent really going to contact jagex if their son or daughter had their account banned for whatever reason? I don't think they'll care so much.

You'd be surprised, now days parents think "their child does no wrong", and will blame JageX for not allowing their child to play (Even if the kid was in the wrong).

With all due respect, what kind of company really cares what a parent thinks or not. An additional 5$ to them won't be much, unless they're relying on constant inflow of new members being those old ones which were banned and want to get back into the game. Seems dumb to me, even if they are on that path. Anyway, I may even give it a try… What would one parent write about his son's account who was macro'ed back in the day… Bunch of blabber about maturity and how he is ready to play the game 'fair?'. Goodness, I'm not good at this lying game.

Parents are crazy, it just takes one to change how everything works. I'm not saying they will actually do it, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

More beggining to think that a crazy parent e-mail would be much more effective than a nice approach… Child got in an accident, is paralyzed(not that this is funny in any way), forced to stay at home, is in love with RuneScape however his/her accounts are banned. Hmmmm, this could be going somewhere, lol. I shall post back if I EVER get an answer back from them.

No, don't talk about physical accidents, just say that you are breaking up with your husband and the family is in a little crisis & you remember how infatuated your son was with the game, you feel that this would be a good distraction for him, to keep the affect on him through the stress of the breakup from affecting him too negatively blah blah blah and mention how much you appreciated their help.

Paralysed shit sounds like a 10 year old thought of it, you need show a little Emotional Quotient when you email then and an air of maturity and understanding.

i have BANNED ACC level 106, got it from botting, fire cape etc 99 str and its banned since 22 november 2008 for botting.
also my first acc ever made on the game got banned for botting and after 6 years i got it unbanned ;) and now botting again.

Been banned since 2004.. it was a manual permanent ban and still hasn't been lifted.

I got banned in 2005, but it wasn't permanent only 14 days, i appealed that anyway. After 3 years later i received a email which said since i had good behavior for 3 years they wiped my account clean of offences.

my first main got banned in 2008 and i forgot its password god dammit !!

i got 1 pure perm ban in 2009 by powerbot and 1 in 2010 also by powerbot, and now got maxed main and maxed rigour tank with simba and paid rsbots.net scripts and didnt get ban and i let it play like 20hours a day without breaks, so its basically all based on luck and not getting reported and also which bot u use

Wow I've never got banned on any of my accounts but the time jagged was giving out all the unactive account, one of my accounts ended somehow on that list. When I had barely logged in 3 days before. I was mad, bro!

Me and my friend got banned at the same time in 2007(go figure right?)for botting. Then a few days after christmas my friend tells me he was unbanned! So i tried logging into my account and it was unbanned! I never even sent in an appeal because i knew i was screwed! It was a Christmas miracle!

My main got banned back in 2007 just recoverd it because it was locked, but still got the perm ban

i have 1 acc that is still banned since november 2008.
and i have another acc that was banned since 2005 and unbanned few months ago.

I got caught for botting, and they just ban me 2weeks, with a reset of 50%

My account was perma banned until they released the new system, think they lost the evidence or something for my account, i appealed it and it was granted.

I only had the chance to appeal for this account. I have an old main banned from macroing and also a beast pure for bug abbuse(tryed duping phats how stupid was i -.-) They are still banned from 2006. But not this baby.
It was originaly banned for macroing(Got banned for using Aryan and the fishing script) But then at 2010 it changed to manual permanent ban for some reason and i got it unbanned.

I was banned in 06.. hate to burst your bubble, but I never got my account back.

This actually does work, I've gotten back two out of three accounts there were banned between 05 and 07.

The account in question is my first main ever, probably like lvl 40 or so :D

I had a lvl 45 with around 90 magic, 45m + santa hat, EDIT: Banned Jan 2007, i just checked. Still not unbanned. However that was totally understandable since I used a simple program called ghost mouse to record my mouse movment to alch. The stupid thing i did, was while it was doing the alching, I would be typing and talking to people. So it was pretty much ASKING to be banned. Talking while not missing a single alch hit, well DUH what does that tell ya. HAha oh well.

EDIT: i also had one other account banned perm… but a friend of mine somehow got it unbanned. He told me he knew someone in jagex. It also had a santa hat on it. One day I totaly forgot about the account and tried logging in just for fun. And I saw that it was unbanned and my bank pin was 10hours from being deleted. So i got my santa back xD haha. Too bad i lost contact with this friend. Could have asked to get the one italked above unbanned as well.

I got banned heres screeny, i got it back only to banned a second time. had 800m on it.

i got banned in 2009 not for botting though it was perm on my main then i got it unbanned a month later and still got it to this day :)

I got banned in 2008 with a permban that turned into a year ban then.. I played for 2 days after the year ban and got manually banned by a mod. Pissed was my maxed account -_-

I've been suicide botting for the last 3 months, not one warning :/

I got banned in late 2010 using Powerbot… facepalm. Still not unbanned, and probably by the time I will get unbanned, I won't be interested in RS anymore.

Good luck getting that unbanned. I got one banned for botting on that I didn't bot on. I botted a junk account and they banned one of my mains whereas a friend botted his main, got a macroing major offense and only 14 day ban. Also, don't count on being able to pay to get your account back. I was told by Mod Serb that it was a test to see how well it worked and they won't be doing it again. I just hope they come out with some type of probation thing where you get either an xp cap for a day or they cut down the amount you get but without a cap.

i got banned 3/7/11 haha for botting at the range guild only 2 week ban + all levels rolled back by 8 .. still bot and got no marks now :P

Sorry to hear about the ban. I did get banned on one of my mains back in the day, 2007 I believe. It was a Permanent ban, however, after a 2 week wait, I took a look at my ban meter and the ban statement and it said it was Quashed. So I dont know whether you'll be lucky like and a few others that have stated above or you might stay banned =/

Haha, to tell you the truth, this might have been a topic in one of their meetings. Probably discussed this as a main source of income. ;)

I remember when i 24/7 botted a new account to 85 magic, and no player reports. Instant ban when i hit 85 l0l.

Yeah they have been letting old accounts come back as of late. Got my old account back a whilea go.

All of mine are still banned -_-

How old are the bans, and did you appeal them?

5-10 years old. I might have appealed some of them, idk.
