New SCAR Project!

Well i haven't been very active for the past little while because I have been developing a new project called SCAR Studios. Anyone who has used visual studios should understand this project quite well. In simple terms SCAR studios will allow you to create scar scripts in pascal, delphi and C (or C++ and maybe some ideas from c#). The SRL library will be completely rewritten for there specific languages and will all be thrown together into one execuitble. This will allow scripters who maybe are better at writing windows based programs in C to be able to have the power of a scripting language like pascal and delphi. The program itself is written in C++. I have created it to be able to run 2 versions of scar. The first is SCAR 2.03 and the second is a very simple version of SCAR that i threw together to run delphi. I need a team of good scripters to give me a hand here. I need C and delphi programers as well as some serious pascal programers. If you wish to help then post here or pm me what area you work best i and an example of your best work in that area.

NOTES:

All large-scale pascal inetrface desings have been put on hold until the release of SCAR Divi. However ther are still minor things to be done and i still need to asseble a team ASAP!

This sounds really cool.

Sadly, I don't really know any programming languages, so I can't help you out on it, but I do wish you luck on it :)

Sounds pretty nice, But i really can't see it happening. It's far too complex. Are you really suggesting that this program literally converts langauges like C++ into a perfectly compilable script for scar?

Sounds nice; I doubt theres much I can do, but if I think of an area where I could help, I'll be sure to volunteer

You know of any good delphi/pascal tuts? Something very complete, preferably an intermediate tutorial…I did a bit of googling but most of the tut's I found were pretty simple…

I code quiet a bit in delphi, so If you ever want any help smartz just give me a pm.

Yay =)

haha expect a lot of pm's

lol, I will eagerly await them.

haha, you think you could pm me some kind of simple program that functions as a basic calculator?

Put text in one box, hit a button, it comes out another

lol, thats stupidly easy. haha. Ill post it here.

Code you one right now.

Give me 3 mins.

Sorry if this is a bit offtopic :P

Edit: Done

heres all the code for you.

unit UnitProgramForSmartz;

interface

Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Variants, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms,
Dialogs, xpman, StdCtrls;

type
TFrmSimpleProgramForSmartz = class(TForm)

EdtBox2: TEdit;
BtnCalculate: TButton;
LblTheAddedNumbersAre: TLabel;
LblAddedNumbers: TLabel;
BtnTruth: TButton;
procedure BtnTruthClick(Sender: TObject); //Easter egg somewhere in the executable attached
procedure BtnCalculateClick(Sender: TObject);

public
{ Public declarations }
end;

var
FrmSimpleProgramForSmartz: TFrmSimpleProgramForSmartz;
NumberInEdtBox1 : Integer;
NumberInEdtBox2 : Integer;
CalculatedNumbers : Integer;

implementation

{$R *.dfm}

procedure TFrmSimpleProgramForSmartz.BtnCalculateClick(Sender: TObject);
begin
//Assings Number In Edit Box 1 To a variable
NumberInEdtBox1 := StrToInt(EdtBox1.Text);
//Assings Number In Edit Box 2 To a variable
NumberInEdtBox2 := StrToInt(EdtBox2.Text);
//Adds both variables together and assigns that to a new variable
CalculatedNumbers := (NumberInEdtBox1 + NumberInEdtBox2);
//Shows the new variable with the calculated numbers in a label.
LblAddedNumbers.caption := IntToStr(CalculatedNumbers);
end;

end.

Put in scar tags so that its easier to read.

I attached the executable in the post below, included a lil easter egg in it too. Try and find it ^_^

=P I think I understand a little…

lol. I commented it so it could be easily understood :(

Want me to explain further?

ohhh, maybe it can work? lol. We'll see :)

I don't get it… so this converts several coding languages to scar scripts?

ruler

makes no sense, why write in c and convert c code to pascal.

Your better off writing a new SCAR like program in c#.

I suggest reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework

No this does not convert code. It simply allows you to write your script in a different language. So basicly you select what language when you start the executible then you program in that language but the advantgage is that you are able to work in the SCAR enviroment and all of the functions/proceures in SCAR and the SRL library will be available in a re-writen version for that specific language.

PS: I sense some sarcasm then fakawi.

So you want to rebuild scar?

ronny.m.p

2007-03-22 15:34:04

In a way…basicly im keeping the scar client but makeing all of the functions different. Think of a pan of chili. I could add in one spice or i could keep the standerd chili and add a different spice (in this case a different language).

UPDATE:

SCAR for C++ is nearly complete thanks tl the hard work of myself my friend and my dad.

Freddy1990

Why rebuilt SCAR, that's the most pointless thing I've ever hear, SCAR already exists if you haven't noticed

lol all the functions different?
I have every scar function written in java. but no intreprtor.

Also how about you post some function timings.

Will do but my parents are seperated so it will take me about a week to post them. Because they are at my other parents house.

GREAT!!!
sound cool, but does this mean that we can run SCAR scripts as executables now???
also i don't understand that script Sp0rk

SCAR scripts can not currently be run as an executable…

Possibly cause it's delphi

Lol delphi is in a way pascal..although there are huge differences!

So i guess you dont have what you claim to?

Object Pascal is an object oriented derivative of Pascal

This proves that delphi is like pacal.

Delphi and introduced a new set of extensions to create what is now known as the Delphi language. The development of Delphi started some time in 1993 and Delphi 1.0 was officially released in the US on 14 Feb 1995. It featured an incompatible syntax using the keyword class in preference to object, the Create constructor and a virtual Destroy destructor (and negating having to call the New and Dispose procedures), properties, method pointers, and some other things

This proves that there are large differences. And yes i do have what i claim to!

EDIT: And just incase you don't know what Object Pascal is then here:

It is also known as the Delphi programming language when describing the dialect used by Borland Delphi.
