After a lill looking around, having trouble getting SMART to run again, i noticed the following:

SMART runs on safe mode while the official Runescape applet (from the website) does not allow you to do so.

I don't really know whether im posting something thats known to everyone, thus turning this into a wasted post though, it could be an easy way for jagex to track SMART users =\

I don't think he's asking a question, he's telling us.

Umm SMART loads rs just like any other browser and we've been using it for years, pretty sure it's all good and safe.
As for the extra option yeah, when you hold 's' during load you see the safe mode option, so I assume SMART does it automatically or something.

You can do the same thing in a browser.

i was showing how in fact the official client will allow us to use safe mode.

What the guys said above, but i'd also like to add some people (actually most people that knows about safe mode) do play rs in safe mode in browser, as its much faster and less laggier than any other options.

Well, i was halfway down making a post based on this, untill i discovered about the safe mode.

Didn't know about the option for safe mode in the official loader, thanks for that, it indeed is less laggy :)


What i wanted to post about it that it pretty often occurs to me that after having legitted rs, SMART somehow doesn't work, e.g. rs loads but nothing happens afterwards. Script doesn't enter my account details and if i manually enter it it still doesn't work.

Didn't want to bother you with this, so i went to look for myself. Untill i noticed about the display mode thing… I've now solved it by loading official RS holding 's' first and then i load SMART, runs smooth then.
