so im using silent spy's spinner, everything that i can see is fine with the script, it compiles just fine i see the following in the debug box and then nothing more happens. it will sit there for hours if i let it.

SRL Compiled in 16 msec
SMART Initialized.
Loaded: Server 9, Members: True, Signed: True, Super Detail: False.

i was getting the msvcr errors got those handled pretty easily, the script was also calling a function that had been removed, fixed that as well now it just hangs. if anyone has any ideas, or a link to someplace where they've already answered this (i promise i searched for it the best i could) feel free to let me know. in the event you need some piece of info i left out just ask and i'll try to be speedy in my response.

Try to load your runescape from your main browser first. :)

so im not entirely sure how loading rs in my broser effected this but now im getting the following error.

SRL Compiled in 78 msec
SMART Initialized.
Loaded: Server 9, Members: True, Signed: True, Super Detail: False.
Error: Exception: Access violation at line 142
The following DTMs were not freed: [SRL - Lamp bitmap, 1]
The following bitmaps were not freed: [SRL - Mod bitmap, SRL - Admin bitmap, SRL - Flag bitmap]

After runescape updates, you must load rs in browser before loading in SMART.
What script is the line 142 error in (which tab does simba show the error on) and copy/paste us the line.

Okay, you should try to post this error on his thread, but have you read the instructions and downloaded the ObjDTMInclude as mentioned in instructions and are you up to date with SRL/Simba?

You probably have Java 7 instead of 6u30. Just get that and you should be fine :)

sorry should have specified that this is in the smart.simba file, hence why i put this here. however i also informed him of the error.

here is the relavant function.

137 procedure SmartSetupEx(Server: integer; members, signed, superdetail: boolean);
138 var
139 prefix: string;
140 begin
141 prefix := ReadINI('World' + IntToStr(Server), 'Prefix', IncludePath + 'SRL/SRL/misc/worlds.ini');
142 if(prefix = '')then
143 begin
144 writeln('Invalid world number or corrupted world list. Please review your settings');
145 TerminateScript;
146 end;
147 SmartSetup('http://'+prefix+'.runescape.com/','plugin.js?param=o0,a' + IntToStr((Integer(not(Signed)) + 1) * Integer(not((SuperDetail and Signed)))) + ',m' + IntToStr(Integer(Members)), 765, 503, 's');
148 //SmartSaveSettings([Server, Members, Signed, SuperDetail, SmartGetDC]);
149 end;

also i had already reloaded the rs client from browser and that is when i started getting this error. before that it just hung, and did absolutely nothing. if there's anything else i should try, or if you need more info let me know.

Use RevoUninstaller to completely remove Java from your system. Registry keys and everything. Then, reinstall Java 6x, not 7.

Java 7 makes SMART lag LIKE CRAZY (for almost everyone I've seen with it).
I was getting 15 or less FPS on SMART with Java 7, so were many others, does SMART run smoothly for you on Java 7??

Yes, better than Java 6 update 29/30.

so that didn't make any difference anyway, however i'll hang on to 6u30 for now as it sounds like once i do get this figured out that will be my best bet.

So what exactly is wrong still?
Smart pops up but nothing happens?
Sounds like graphics settings are wrong.
Load RS on browser, make all low settings, fixed screen, highest brightness.

Se7eN

no smart doesn't pop up at all. let me re-outline what happens;

1)press start on script (which script is irrelevant, but i am using silent spy's spinner)

2) script compiles

3)in the debug box a line is written describing the setting i set for smart (world number, member, super detail, etc.)

4)nothing further happens, simba is showing the script as running, however it will sit in this limbo for as long as i let it.
no window labeled smart ever makes an appearance.
its not my graphical settings, everything's low, highest brightness, i got that part. java 6u30 didn't seem to make any appreciable difference, and if Heavenzeyez1's correct then it shouldn't have mattered anyway. but it was good to try if for no other reason than to eliminate it as a possibility. on to the next thing.

also thank you to everyone for helping out.

paste a ss of the console of simba(click the black box/command line looking thing on top), that should help.

Se7eN

2012-01-12 07:01:27

ss attached. this was taken immediately after starting the script, however it is after smart claims it has "Initialized" in the debug box. to be more accurate here is what the debug box reads.

SRL Compiled in 15 msec
SMART Initialized.
Loaded: Server 9, Members: True, Signed: True, Super Detail: False.

I have read that changing the world number sometimes helps, I've tried that, I just left it at default while taking this picture. let me know if theres any other info that might help. it never seems to get past trying to load the jvm… however I java 6u30 installed and added to my PATH. so your guess is as good as mine on that…

try updating srl, and try running simba as admin. also just to make sure your java works go to their website and check if you have java. if you do have it then try running it in xp mode if your on vista/win7.

I'll try running it in xp compatibility mode as that's the only thing i have yet to try. thanks.

[edit]
so after all that, what ended up doing it was setting it to xp sp3 compatibility mode. i kinda feel like a moron for not having tried that sooner… thanks for all the help.
