not really the place to be talking about this, it should be in the script thread, but while your here

the first line loads the DLL so it can be used in scripts
the next line includes the sps include file

@Shuttleu: I know what a .dll file is although my knowledge is limited.
What functionality is the .dll ? Where can I find this out ? DepWalker ?

Why do you need them both ? Sorry - lots of questions. :)

.dlls are 'plugins' I think they basically just do complex/laggy stuff faster than Simba?
Let's wait for someone more knowledgeable on the topic… :D

SPS uses a library because it uses some resources intensive loops.
In the library things run much faster. (Native instead of interpreted)
If you'd like to see the function names it exports you will need a library explorer.
You can also see the functions in exports to Simba in Simba.

Still more questions …

  1. Would it then be correct to say then that .dll and .simba sps files have the same routines ?
  2. If the SRL community produces the sps.simba file, where does the sps.dll come from then ?

No, sps.simba uses sps.dll functions. The dll holds the "intensive" functions, where the simba file loads the dll and also has a few less intensive functions in it.

They are both produced by the community. (Marpis!)

OK - thanks everyone. Particularly Dgby714!!

I was beginning to get the feeling the the answers to the questions I had asked was perhaps going to be beyond my comprehension - no matter who answered it. :duh:
