Yeah, so my dad's being a complete dick. He's angry, and I can understand why. But the new limitations he's putting in place for me are far too extreme, and it's almost overwhelming (and illegal, long story..) I can't really do anything internet-based (most of what I do) for a while, and I'm thinking about quitting many activities such as RuneScape. I found it quite enjoyable, but I can't even really play it anymore. I'm debating selling my accounts, seeing how they're worth quite a lot. I really hate dealing with account sales, and I'm even willing to sell them for a significantly lower amount if a Market-abled user here is interested. Feel free to PM me.

Anyways, I've been very actively (or atleast semi-actively) interested in RuneScape for the past 6 years or so. But all of the sudden, not sure why, I've lost nearly all interest. I don't know if it's my current situation, or if I just genuinely don't care about the game anymore. I just got to this community, and it's been something that I've enjoyed. But I'll probably not stick around if my RuneScape career is over.

My brain's flooded with outside emotions and I can't really think straight. Should I quit? Should I sell my accounts? Maybe, just go on a break for a while? I'm guessing I could get around $400 for all my gold, accounts, ect,.. and money is always nice. Just, tell me what you guys think..

I say keep it all, you never know when you'll want to start again. I quite for two years, and came back :)

I've quit and come back also :P Keep your main, if you have multiple accounts try to sell them but you'll always want one account to come back to.

Maybe sell everything but one guy? Just so you have something to come back to if you ever feel like it, I'm back now from a break of like a year or two.

Sucks about your situation, I know how you feel, been there before. Something maybe to consider is A. Forgiving your dad (wild, I know) and B. Going along with his rules. Seriously you can turn a bad situation around quick just by being "good/nice". I personally am just moving back home and I have a little bit of adjusting to do in that department as well, but if you consider that he feeds and shelters you and most probably loves you dearly, the relationship could be worth forgoing the internet for awhile.

See,.. that's the thing. I don't really have a main. I just work on dozens of side projects. Only some of them actually ever amount to anything. They're basically all very specialized accounts, and is also why they're worth good money. (various pures, tanks, skillers, ect).

I'm thinking about just selling them all. If I indeed do decide to come back, maybe I'll just start fresh again.

If you're going to sell, I'd be interested in seeing what you have. Sucks that you have to leave so early :( You're doing so great.

I've also quit playing RS mostly in an instant, took me awhile to recover and find other things to do. ;)

This was over three years ago. I got RC 91 and suddenly just … had enough of the game. I still have my account though and I have no intention of selling it - but I don't really play anymore. ( Some of you may notice I'm now RC 92, but that's only thanks to my brother who was in need of money and crafted them on my account. ;) )

Keep your favorite pure, when I quit rs for about a year and came back the sole reason I enjoyed it still was because I didn't have to start from scratch. Leave maybe 15m on the account or just one rare, sell everything else. I left a 12m Santa for a year that turned itself into 100m.

Hopefully you will eventually be given your computer privaledges back. This is really unfortunate, you are a great scripter. Have a good life, try to stay in good graces with your dad. Good luck :)

When i thought i wanted to leave runescape sold my account gold everything and now had to start of again when i restarted playing
Unless you need the money i wouldn't recommend selling your account itself maybe the gold and rares but leave the accounts

Dont sell accounts, seriously, I have quit so many times over the years and had an epic drop party each time, but always left enough to come back to. If anything sell some of you gp but never your accounts because you WILL regret it, do you think the hours you spent playing over those 6 years is worth a measly $400?

Think about it, $400 ~ $66/year ~ $0.15/day ~ $0.03/hour (assuming around 360 days a year with about 5 hours a day.. realistically it will probably be much less days and much more hours though ;) )

I've had a similar problem when I was in high school. My dad would blame my bad grades on runescape and xbox live lol. Well even though I was restricted I eventually came back to rs after a long time. It was worth it to me because runescape is a good way to kill time.

People who think rs is a waste of life don't understand that they probably watch more TV then you do play rs, and using this forum I assume you bot, so BAM! its a win win, bot or legit its still worth it to keep your account for the long run.

Ohh and its never worth it to sell an account. if you look at your days played and do some simple math, you will see that the time played and the money you will get is shit.

Your over-thinking Mate… when i was a kid I remember my Dad yelling and putting limits on me… Now Runescape is not even the case anymore, its crap and I actually appreciate my Dad yelling at me and making me go outside… This game is crap tbh, and scripting… well this is just a fun hobby :).

I quite runescape as soon as I became SRL member, and then slowly came back.

It's cuz your a pro scripter lol thats why you have no interest in runescape. It's time to hit the books man because you'll be building a Spaceship to get out of here when the earth explodes in in December, its 2012… ahhh shet.

On some real shit though I'd suggest keeping what you've got because 400$ dollars ain't worth the 6 years you put into your account man. Like for me I'd blow that 400$ dollars easily in an hour, couple of hookers, some 8 balls, not gonna go to into detail but you get my point right? Aint worth it man. You'll be back, You're Urge to play runescape will regain its power within.

Keep it, maybe one day you will get the sudden urge to play and you still have your accounts :)

Ha, lol'd at this. I just came back a few months ago after a 2 year quit. So you're right :)

If I were you, I would keep all my stuff. It's always good to have it safe. We never know if one day we'll return to the game, to the activies we used to do.
Give it a time, but sooner or later, you will return.
So, don't sell anything of what you possess, keep it all safely and let's hope that everything get's back to the normal!
