You've probably opened this thread thinking this is anti-bot protest, but no.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for botting, but… what are we all going to do (if) we reach 99 in all stats? Then we get max cash? But then what? It's suddenly come to me for some reason, and I'd like you hear all of your input!

Whats the reason for playing runescape or any game legit then?

Personally, I bot what I don't want to do. For example, I bot agility and hunter because I think they are really boring. I don't bot combat too often because I like combat.

i bot the skills so i can do the quests
i find them… interesting

I bot the skills that you gotta grind to get anywhere.. example mining.. you have to grind mining to get 99 -___- even then it takes forever!

Sell the account. Sell the cash. Rinse, and repeat.

A lot of my botting these days is to reach quest requirements, and to boost PvM stats.

Nathan, the main reason for playing a game is the grind, most games you play as hard as you can to get to the top, but if we aren't even doing the grind, then what is the point of it? I also agree with botting only some skills like hunter, as personally I mostly enjoy merchanting :)

No its not, I play for the end game, as most games besides RS are designed for, WoW, for example, it takes a while to get to 85, but there is more content for level 85s then for 1-84. The endgame is when the game really starts. It's not quite the same for RS, but I'm a boss hunter. I don't mind some of the grind, I enjoy combat and some other skills, but being able to bot them takes away some of the repetition. And makes money.

Well, I always enjoyed Runescape. I see it as a challenge, to rank up, to pass in front of some players (friends, enemies :b). But there are some skills that are boriiing. As ggzz said above, mining is one of them. Mining is the only skill that's missing, for maxed cape. I hate lrc, granite, I hate every kind of mining method. Why? You have to stay hours and hours doing the same thing, over and over.
But haven't botted mining so far :/
Sometimes I use scripts (rc, cook, agility) simply to rank up, get more Experience and that's all.

BTW…Runescape has changed alot since the beginning..for worst :/

There isn't any point, my friend is maxed and she says it's extremely borring. I guess if you legit it'll be more worth it in the future.

Well as far as botting: idk.
But scripting is a different story. I continue to create my scripts because it is simply fun. Its a challenge which I enjoy partaking in. And there is no better feeling than when u finally complete a hard bot. But i feel like this for almost any type of programming.

But yeah i script mostly as a hobby..

Sometimes I pk, I mostly just sell the accounts.

Making scripts is a hobby, I simply enjoy doing it. :)

Oh and like previously stated, some skills are hair-pulling to train. It's nice to have an 'assistant' to do it for you. And keeping an eye on it while it runs it puts you in the position of supervisor. :p

To get some rsgp so I can get better bossing gear to boss better :)

I bot for the challenge.

I bot for the enjoyment of accomplishing some tasks be it making money to pk or gaining a stat I would not have the patience for otherwise all while im doing something productive IRL, and if you get 99 everything and max cash just start over ;)
until you wake up and realize your wasting precious youth time :o

If(when :D) I get maxed stats, I will continue to play for the quests, and new content. I will probably eventually start making more accounts as well. A mage pure, a range pure, all the others. When I have maxed account, maxed pures, several billion rsgp, MAYBE I will stop playing. But Runescape is pretty fun. And I can feel myself being sucked ever farther into scripting. So there is that.

I personally use bots to max out the account that I am working on. I am about 60% complete give or take(could be more since one of the 99s I haven't gotten is FM). Once the skills are maxed I will then continue to finish all quests and diaries. Once that is done. I will bot some more to afford a partyhat(or a set of all discontinued rares if I live that long). Then I will more then likely pawn the account and buy a life.

I have exact same goals. It's always been max skills, now completionist cape, and even then I'll still want a phat. I justify this to myself by saying I'll sell it all eventually but who knows.

hmmm now that all the injection/reflection bots are gone, i don't gold farm anymore and I'm actually starting to like playing my main again. =D. But i do like botting up my pure at the same time i play legit =P

I bot boring skills, train the rest myself. Nearly maxed, so in the next month I'll have max cape. then maybe I will go for comp cape, 99-120 dung might suck but the capes cool. then I will prob quit, and go outside. :P
