What is it?

MethDwarfMiner is a mining bot that mines coal in the Dwarven Mine Resource area (Dungeoneering 15 required) and deposits it in the deposit box.

How to use

1. Set up your player info, settings and stats if you have it.
2. Change how many loads you want to do per player (If only using one account, this is ignored)
3. Make sure your player is inside the resource dungeon (can be anywhere inside it)
4. If your pickaxe isn't equipped, make sure it is in the 1st slot of your inventory, and change the constant in the script accordingly
5. Hit run!

m3gaman3g3nd has modified the script to use invCount instead of checking animations, apparently it's faster. Use whichever version you want, I can verify his is perfectly safe to use. Link below:

I believe this is not necessary. Consider FindObjCustom inside a repeat…until block with a timeout can shorten your code significantly here.

Pickaxe support I think it's easy to add enough. Just drop everything in slot 2-28 and leave slot 1 for your pickaxe?

E: I put the color you used for the DepositBox in ACA and it turned out this… I think that's why it doesn't work. I guess you need to repick a more reliable color

Deposit box ACA in link, works GREAT as far as I have used it!
Also, a note to both of use, in ACA at bottom right always change CTS form 1 to 2, 2 is WAY MORE accurate!

Updated to version 2.
Changed to Radial Walking and modified depositing code to work better.

As YoHoJo stated, this is for the Dwarven Mine Resource Dungeon, not the Guild one. I'm going to eventually add the ability to mine the silver or mithril in the same dungeon, once I have this working fine with just coal.

I'll test this out as soon as i get 45 dung for it :D

Only need 15 for the dwarf mine resource dung. 45 is the mining guild one.

My test character only has 45 mining, hence the low ores per hour, but currently:

Methrends Dwarf Coal Miner 
 Running For: 38 Minutes and 47 Seconds
 Ores Deposited: 140

Still going, no major issues.

It does still try and mine empty rocks, along with checking the black void outside of the dungeon - this is a issue with the colouring which I'm currently working on refining to prevent. Will put it in a minor update and upload soon.

Refined the colours and the walking. It's running quite well now. Have also added unequipped pickaxe support for those with low attack but high mining.

:seems to be working fine now. had a problem where when it went to bank it would keep trying to click on the mini map west but it was already as far as it could go, but it seems to be working fine now mining and all. Thanks:D.

Only problem im getting is it gets stuck on the way back from bank between the bank and the mith rocks

I'm no scripter so i have no idea what this means so and if its me doing something wrong or a bug in the script. IF i manually move it to the rocks it resumes back to normal tho.

Alright, I'll look into my radials to fix that.
The warning is just occurring when it's attempting to look for the objects and it's returning coordinates outside of the client. It's a problem with SRL I think, and is safe to ignore in terms of script breakage. It seems to only occur when the things it's looking for (either the deposit box or the ore) aren't available.
I'll be putting in failsafes to fix the infinite loops of searching in the next version. :)

Ore selection is something I plan on doing in the future. Making sure I get coal working almost perfectly with failsafes and such before I add the other ores (which should be easy because as you say, they are in sight of the deposit box)

Slowly piecing together version 6 - adding in the base support for mithril and silver.

Runs perfect. It's gotten stuck a couple times when it gos to bank but besides that runs smooooooth. Thanks I'll upload a proggy as soon as i can.

Are you sure the price will drop because of this one script? Coal can be mined in so many places…

And I thought you can mine clay and iron faster than coal? Plus they sell more at GE than coal atm…

Though one possible thing is we might be seeing more competition at the resource dungeon, but bots have always been around anyway

Competition has always been around and will always be. I'm sure there are other money making methods that yield way more gp/h than coal mining that you won't even need to run a coal miner ever

Also there's mining guild and many f2p locations where coal can be mined quite efficiently. I would worry only one thing if I were you, that is, too many people bot this location and thus chances of getting banned there increased.

Have switched to SRL5 completely and changed a few things accordingly.
Make sure to update SRL and Simba before running.

I haven't had time to test it, but it should work.

That's the stats username/password. Leave those at the default setting if you don't have a stats account. (http://stats.villavu.com/)
Your runescape login info goes in the bit that says:

Players[0].Name := '';
  Players[0].Pass := ''; 

a bit further down.

As for the banking issues…I'll look more into it later tonight before continuing to work on version 6. Is the deposit box in view when it gets stuck, or not?

Yeah I realise what changed to stop it rechecking, working on fixing it now (only have one character that I can test on and was getting magic up on it)

I'll look into the mining, though I'm not sure how much faster I can get it. Will get bank working properly first and upload that, then look into modifying my object finding. Will put version 6 on hold for now.

Edit: Nearly done fixing. Doing some testing whilst waiting for a opportunity to test a bonus feature I chucked in :)

I saw it all that is needed is a wait after the path has been walked ( from spot to Deposit box) because atm its trying to click on the Box while the character is moving 0.0 this should fix it;

Banking should now be properly fixed
Have changed around some code to make failsafes and checking better
Antiban now happens during mining ore, not before/after (means no pausing to antiban between rocks - slightly faster)

Extra feature: You can now choose to drop gems instead of banking them.

EditEdit: Reuploaded, fixed a couple of tiny bugs I missed. Position in dungeon is now checked better for failsafes. Still version 5.3.

Just a minor update since I found out that gems would be dropped regardless of setting (oops..) I've fixed that and made a couple of changes to improve the script overall.

V5.5 will be fixing the walking properly and any remaining bugs, possibly more failsafes. It should be the last minor update before Version6 (Other ore support)

The proggy's I've posted in the thread were all below 50 mining, so fairly slow at getting coal.

I was thinking of doing that, but since I'll have the code checking for individual ore with the other options it'll be as easy as changing the ore variable to silver when it runs out of mithril, to coal when it runs out of silver, and then back to mithril when it banks.



In other news, 5.5 is being pushed up to version 6 and my plans for version 6 are being pushed to version 7. The reason being, I'm a stickler when it comes to using version numbers correctly and the changes I've made so far are too big to be considered a minor update.

What's going to be new, I hear you ask? Well, I've completely changed the way it mines ore - it now uses a heavy amount of maths to pick the next ore before it finishes mining the current one, meaning it can click to mine as soon as the player is idle. Makes for much faster mining! (Though I'm still getting the numbers *just* right, gorram trigonometry)

I'm also refining the walking (yet again) to work a bit better, and to catch issues better too.

Hopefully I can get it done tonight and upload. No promises though.

There is a problem with the walk,
when the bot gots a full inv en clicks on the grey place next to that wierd stone and then cant find the other spot to run, it just stand there until it logsout

Yeah have come across that, it's been fixed in the next version. Until then, you should be able to stop-start the script and it /should/ work. Doesn't occur every time, it's just an issue with walking.

About the walk, can you do a bitmap on the mine and then use SPS? I think the method is somewhere along with the tutorials

The mine technically already has an SPS map, which I attempted before switching to Radial, didn't seem to want to work.

Radial is working fine now, just needed a bit of tweaking.

Yeah it just didn't do anything. I might look into it in the future but radial seems okay now (helps that the center part of the dungeon has blue colours)

Version 6 Uploaded!

For the sake of getting the walking fixes uploaded, I'm releasing this now.

The new mining method is turned OFF by default, but if you want to use it (i.e. test it for me), then just change the appropriate constant to True.

Otherwise, it's just general bugfixes and such.

SPS Walking worked for me. Below is what I used. I looped the running for around 3-5 mins and the walking works perfectly.

Give it a shot and see how it does.

Hmmm, will give it another try at some point then.

Also, that awkward moment I spend a long time writing up a new mining method only to find out it's probably slower than the original….though theoretically it should be faster. o.o

For now I heavily suggest not using the beta mining :P

That's from leaving it UNATTENDED overnight. :D
Going back through individual reports shows that some loads took a lot longer to do, this was probably caused by other players.

30k/hr would need approx one coal every 5 seconds. (If my maths works out, and including bank time). I guess that's possible. More likely if you find an empty world (I was getting one load every 3 minutes on an empty world, but that went up to one every 6/7 minutes with a second person there)

Credits to Daniel for helping me with a few things, and for creating a new FindColorsSpiralTolerance function to work with my beta mining method.

Fixed a fair amount of little bugs and such (mostly related to the beta method)

I have left it off by default still, as it is more botlike. USE AT OWN RISK.
The 5 hour proggy above was obtained using this version and Beta Mining.

30k is unrealistic, given coal mining is much slower than iron and powermining iron in f2p is capped around 30k xp/h

Quick bit of news, Version 7 (other ore support) is being put on hold for the time being. I've just got a lead developer position in a game studio, so that's chewing up my time…

I'll be working on it when I get a chance.

Great work with the script! There are some things that I think I should inform you. When wearing anything black (I was wearing full black armor) the faster method doesn't seem to work. (It thinks that the armor is coal, and gets stuck)

Also when I came back to check on the bot, the script had logged me out, while still running. Have you created a break method? (it didn't say anywhere it was taking a break)

Anyway, if you want to, you can look into those after your game development.

So it clicks to mine and then immediately hovers in the upper left AFTER mining starts? I'll look into the issue, probably something to do with my object finding.

Yep, left it running whilst I was out today, came back to that. There might still be niggly bugs that don't prevent it from working but slow it down or whatnot (an example is any players nearby wearing black slows ore searching…), or it could simply have hit a popular point where there were other people mining *shrug*

You're right it's probably because of people spotting the bot and deliberately outmining it.

Yeah this is probably due to the runescape update. I'll double check soon.

That's SRL Erroring, not my script (I don't even have a line 842). Try updating SRL / restarting Simba and then try again.

Also i noticed that it only stays on one side of the mine and if all ores on screen are mined it wont go to the other side of the mine to continue mining. Otherwise the idea is great and the speed is more than adequate. i managed to get the 2 loads in not even 3-5mins but i also have 85 mining with no competition.

When i tryed to use it, the bot would mine about 4 ores then wait for them to respawn then mine them again?? it took about 10 mins to get full inventory at level 60 mining?

For me last night the script kept trying to deposit the coal. But it tried clicking the deposit box then just sat there.

Not a lot I can do about that - it's the black colour. Just turn off the pop ups (Right click exp button on minimap -> turn off exp popup)

This happens to me way too often. In fact, every time so far that I have come back the bot is either at a random, or at that exact spot where it can't see the deposit box. Could you add something to fix that, perhaps something like, if it fails to locate the box, it will rotate the camera until it can.

I'll look into fixing this tomorrow. It's been fixed in my rewrite (using ObjectDTMs for walking, and I've got it configured perfectly), but I'll put together a quick one tomorrow for now.

Luckily I was able to solve this; I just banked my hood and cape and this solved my problem 100%. Now the script is running flawlessly.

TL;DR - I suggest you not wear flashy clothing with this script.

Yes you can still get randoms. I think the detection for them is a bit off still, but it's not too big an issue.

If you plan on gold farming with this it wouldn't get much tbh. You can try but there is no exact amount as some worlds the bot logs on other players/botters will be there.

longer it runs the slower it seems to get …..takes around 1-3 secs initially ~290/hr then slows down from 3-10 secs after running for a few hrs ~215-250/hr
otherwise runs like a charm nice script!

Script works great and the only thing I would change is the right clicking of all the rocks.

Will be trying to get 99 Mining from 90 with this.. I'll let you know how it goes :).

I'm doing extensive testing for version7 with using left clicks, I just don't want any issues whatsoever with it.

Sometimes finishes randoms and opens the reward, but after 6 hours logs out, thats the rs antibot or sumthing and it wont log back in, im too noob at simba and scaring to but breaks or sumthing. :D

Randoms are handled by SRL, not by the script, so I can't do anything there.

The 6 hour thing won't log back in because the client has to be reloaded (close+open it again).
Search the forums for CrashSMART if you want to look into a method to run it longer.

I am using the script now and it is awesome.

Been using the script for a few days, works awesome. I got an error report, figured it might be helpful to post. I have mined like 8k coal with it so I'm not complaining = ))

Warning! You passed a wrong ye to a finder function: 34. The client has a height of 32, thus the ye is out of bounds. Setting the value to 31 (h-1) for now.

34k Coal mined so far, and I'm now 95 Mining.. Goal for 99 via your script is so far so good, even if I've been "reported" multiple times :P.

Things I would add:
When the script can't find ores, it generally walks to the same location to further look for ores. Why not add some other potential location(s) to walk to.
Walking to deposit box generally leads to sitting behind the box for 2-4 seconds, then clicking.

As well, two bugs:
The script sometimes thinks it has walked to the bank so it'll sit beside the rocks with a full inventory.. just waiting.

Every once a while, when mining and it will mine the ore then sit there for an excess of 2-3 minutes (sometimes till it's logged out due to being inactive.) I'm assuming this is due to the script not realizing the rock is mind and in turn becoming a infinite loop of waiting till it is mined.. (I could be full blown wrong, I didn't look at the code.)

Non-the-less, the script is amazing and I recommend everyone to try it out.

I am loving this script One of the only one of the mining scripts that doesn´t fail or spazz out completely after 2-3 loads Good job.

It takes quite a while to click the ores, is there some setting I can adjust for mousespeed?

i tried your Beta mining method, its a good idea, but it has one major flaw. it right clicks coal sometimes covering the player, thus making the script not detect player movement.
i dont see the reason for the whole right click thing in the script, since you can just mine the coal left clicking the rock.

tried out the edited version by m3gaman3g3nd + crash smart
11 hrs! my new record…..crashed soon afterwards…
for some reason it did not try to relog so did not reload/relog…. i had to manually close simba then then it relaunched

The fix for this would be trying to right click again if it fails to do so within a certain time, say 10 seconds. (I know this, because every time it gets stuck, all i have to do is to move the mouse away and the script will succeed the 2nd time)

Another fix could be simply left clicking the box.

I am a bit shocked on how easy it was to modify the script.. I know nothing of coding, but it took me around 10 seconds to figure out how to make it left click and chance the value based on that.

@biohazard The right click is necessary so it can choose the mine option and avoid clicking on a dwarf and starting a fight.

Every single time I have attempted to run the script, it right clicks the ore and then the cursor swings to the left. The script waits about 6 seconds then does it again. I am not getting any coal at all.

The banking doesn't work perfectly. Sometimes, it will walk close to the deposit box but it isn't in the view of the screen so it can't find it. I think adding another point of it to walk right next to the deposit box so it always sees it will make it better.

Working very very slow for me… like 10-15 seconds in between mining another ore. Looking through the code seeing if i can change anything with my very low scripting knowledge.

Ok I got mine working now. But the mouse cursor seems to absolutely love the little pickaxe icon that pops up at the top of the screen, which is not good…

hay great script… I'm really new. Um two things, I have to login for the script to work and then it types my pass and user and secondly i get a weird thing where it hovers over my mining exp counter at the top of the screen. Its fairly slow but ill blame that on my laptop lol… thanks,

Works flawlessy, no problems what-so-ever, kept an eye on it every 15-20 minutes or so, copes well finding the ores and deposit box!

anyway to speed this up it mines one and waits then mines another then waits.

It's probably an issue with ChooseOption / OptionsExist.
You can modify it for left click fairly easily.

this is a very well done script….though a couple bugs (which I've fixed for my use). truly a pro script big ups! used this from 51-79 mining. very good! too many proggies but my longest one was 18 hours….not a single random! (I'm lucky I guess). you should add maybe mithril to the script….if not I'll make it myself….but a good thought. thanks again!

This is a pretty good script, although I don't necessarily think you should make it try to detect animations… also, I don't think it should always right click on the ores/deposit box, it seems a bit bot-like, almost..

I did a small bit of editing and I have it mine another ore once the InvCount goes up +1, or if 15 seconds pass. Also, I made it so that it left clicks on the ores/deposit box 75% of the time, while right clicking 25% of the time. It is now running 100x smoother and faster!

Using this for a week now. Script is really good using thou m3gaman3g3nd version with changed to findbox to always left click for faster deposit as I found it stucking while right clicking.

the script was working fine, until randomly it just went weird, it takes ages to switch rocks after finishing one, and sometimes stands still for so long it just logs out

Note that Random solving is up to the SRL libary, please read the general FAQs in the forums.

Just a note
if you put:

FindOre(True, True);

in between a wait and Antiban; at line 316-317, You speed up the mining process as it will refresh and look for a closer rock to you, which often happens when moving, I also suggest modifying the wait time near that to also help increase accuracy. This is slightly more human, since we constantly do refresh our choice, but it may look a little more botty.

this is very great! ive noticed a few negligible problems though, like when there is no ore in any rocks, the pointer shakes around spasmatically in the little circle with the pickaxe in it at the top of the screen. its on the same color as the ore however, so im not sure if this can be fixed. ave also had one glitch where someone entered the room as i went to bank, and the pointer hovered over this person who was colored similarly to the bank deposit box. again, it probably cant be fixed as the color of things cant be changed. those little problems always solve themselves though, so im not worried. all-in-all, this is a great script though. Thanks for the work you put into this

Make sure your Runescape is set to run in fixed mode with Minimum detail within the SMART client.

ok so far it mines perfect, slight delay between choosing rocks, but i am tweaking the timing on it slightly. i do have one problem: when using the deposit box, it very often right clicks and gets the lil drop down menu but just continues to right click the deposit box. and since the menu is already there nothing happens, just stuck in infinite loop of right clicking the box. tips?

EDIT: changed the right clicks to left clicks and it runs heaps better. amazing script. love it :)

hey the script seems really good, the only problem I encountered was with the smart system thinking that the xp circle was a piece of coal and getting stuck occasionally, it even got past it. good job!

Nice Script. Had to change the colors and right clicks to left clicks on the ores and bank and I'm getting around 350 ores an hour. I changed the color so now it mines every rock in the resource dungeon and not just the coal, which I thought is good for anti-ban. So far getting around 17.5k xp per hour and almost 100k per hour. Great job. Gonna have to raise mining lvls on other accounts so I can use this script on them. :P

just so you know, i believe if you get reported you get flagged = more random events, if you start getting alot of randoms, stop botting for a while or you will get banned…

Other notes.

This is a great script! working very well, only problems i encountered where that it began to slow down the longer it ran, and alot of the time it chooses rocks half way across the screen when there is one right next to it, dunno if you can help that but just saying it in any case.

you might want to add info on telling people how to change from right click to left click, first thing i always do when i use scripts is change this, only because i rarely right click to mine etc. you might also want to add info on how to make it mine "quicker" eg waiting time inbetween mineing.

for some reason it wasnt updating how much coal i was mineing, but was updateing how many gems.

i recommend this script to anyone, cant wait for silver/mithril support

I don't think he should add that info because it is like an anti leech. If you can't figure out how to change right and left clicks and colors you probably should be learning to script instead of leeching

Hi, script is running. Would it be possible to add an option to pick up iron ores? There are a lot of powerminers there who drop iorn ores. It would be nice to just pick them up…

This script runs flawless for me every time. Runs for 5 hours 57 minutes and some seconds and I'm getting roughly 2k coal every time it runs. The only problem is that it doesn't know random events, or atleast the few that I have logged back in to. None the less, 75% of the time it does not run into any random events that it can not handle. Thank you for this!!

This script has, according to SmartManager, gone for 25hours straight, solved all randoms and restarted successfully 9 times. I've gone up 3 levels. Not the fastest miner, nor the most XP, just just plods on reliably. Thanks!

I think it's VERY unfair that people are being forced to use this just awful script. I'm not sure what threats the scripters are using, but they must be very threatening indeed otherwise us 'leechers' would simply stop using them. Sorry, I thought the sarcasm was clear…..my bad. It's just that I woke up and this script was STILL running and has made me about 4m in coal, and these guys post complaining and whining as if they were owed something. Admittedly I was in a bad mood and bored at the same time……..Sorry.

I changed the BETA_MINING = True in the script to either True / False - I found sometimes True worked, then the next time False did. Also, Methrend kindly linked to m3gaman3g3nd's verison of this on page 1 which again, worked better one day, then not the next. Between all those options, you can get a version that settles down and just works.

it's dosen't work for me to, like it's seems to be the problem it's click on the first rock work perfectly but dont clik on the second . maybe i'm doing something wrong, if I just tell me what or please how to fix it :)

There was some weird stuff that happened to me. I left the miner for a couple of hours, and when i checked back, there was a old boot in the inventory, but how can this he possible, as it can only be gotten by fishing?

Edit: sorry, found out that is was doing randoms, and it chose the mystery box, which gave me an old boot.

sometimes the bot will just hover over the ore an not mine it, causing me to full restart,(logging in and out doesnt help, nor does flickin off smart) regardless ty for this script ;)

also i would like to suggest mining urn support for further xp, w/o banking or anything, just using the ones in inv.

after 10 hours of running, theres this glitch where my guy would spin around, instead of banking, and also, it hovers on the entrance instead of clicking the deposit box.

Are you wearing varrock armor and keeping gems? I've got the same thing a few times and believe it to occur when I get double gem drops from a rock due to the armor.

Edit: Seems there's problems with compass use for everyone, can ignore my original post.

this is the fuckin' awesomest script ever! now I could go outside but it's too light there

it works and it is very accurate but i highly suggest you make it left click instead and it jitters the mouse(moves it very fast a few times mousing the ore) to much

ive noticed if you stand near the 5 spawns, camera angle high and face north then it only mines these 5.i find this much faster..thanks for the script btw.

I am working on a good progress report now. The only (minor) error I have come about is lines 481-484. I just added // to cancel them out… it does not seem to affect it.

It must be a great script because it seems like there is at least 5-6 players "mining" coal in the resource dungeon in every world. Looks a bit funny when everyone is doing the same thing at almost the exact same time.

Can you make the script click faster on the coal ore, there's like atleast 6 people mining there in every world and it's kinda slow. try plz? thanks.

A little slow finding the coals

This script is working great, although there are some minor bugs here and there. I have already mined about 8k coal with it.

The only issue I have is when it tries to hover over the mining skill at the top of the screen. The cursor will never manage to hover over it but will instead twitch around it rapidly. I am concorned that this is not at all a human like action and may look a bit sketchy.

I attempted to omit line 125 in order to stop this but it seems to have no effect. I cannot find the procedure in the script that calls for this behaviour. Can anyone help me out here?

your script is great…. but i have a suggestion.
this script could do with FASTER ore finding. serious. i was like testing out your script for 10 mins, and i only mined 2 ore!!! it seems that i may be the only one… and it took an hour to mine 27 ore…
just saying, there was no one but me in the resource dung.
although once i tried for 2hrs and it mined 278 ore.
the speed isn't steady… wanna try revising? especially increasing the speed of the bot, because i was using this script, and lost to many bots.

He is right, the script is unstable. I suggest you updatethe colors and ore finding. Also make it less not like by using both left click and right click(thou leg its use left click more when it comes to mining) the speed isn't that good either, I'm glad there is at least one resource miner.

OP hasn't posted since last month, and the first hasn't been updated since February.

delete that part and it'll run fine.

dude seriously you need to speed this thing up.
the other bots are like super speed and stealing all the coal, while i am like just standing there waiting so long to find coal. >.<
once, i let the computer run for like 10 hours, and when i checked after the 10 hours, this was my result:
only four coal was mined during 10 hours.
please, fix this script…..
