SuicideRandoms

Most randoms can be "suicided", where you fail it and be teleported to a random location. SRL should take advantage of this. Most either have a "X times you fail and are sent off" or "after X minutes you are free to leave".

Beekeeper: Fail 6 times and are sent off.
Grave Digger: Can leave instantly after talking to him ("failing" when you've never even touched the coffins).
Prison Pete: ~15 minutes and can leave through gate.
All the others have some sort of system like this I think.

Should be a fun addition to make SuicideRandoms as a global (default Off) to fail these randoms and then teleport to Lumbridge, where scripts that have it enabled to activate their deathwalk etc.

It's better to fail a random if your script has deathwalk, instead of sitting inside the random for days. If your script has deathwalk, why not use it, and not have anything stop you, even randoms?!

Doesn't it set off a flag for Jagex when you fail randoms though? Like a flag, plus a report is worse than just a report? Also, what is a deathwalk?

You can't be banned for using an option they put in the game. If they didn't want you to leave the random, they wouldn't give you the option.

I don't know, wouldn't think so. It's just an option, people don't have to use it if they would rather not. Walking back to your botting location after "dying".

Ah I see. But isn't the SPS walking messed up? I think the MSI RunMe mentions that while you can start it anywhere it is best to start it near your botting location.

That is irrelevant to the topic at hand.

No, randoms have nothing to do with catching macroers.

This is a really good suggestion Harry, would love to see it implemented. :)

I didnt even know you could opt to fail randoms.
I agree with you harry why would this flag a player

This is a good idea. Logging out inside a random we can't solve already counts as a failed random. We might as well just exit the random and walk back.

Good idea though, Grave digger is the easiest, talk to him to get the note then talk again to fail and get option to leave.

Although I think it does flag you, if you deathwalked back and continued doing whatever it was you were doing, that should protect you. I think the failing and then insti-logout prob flags you more…*end ramble*

None of it flags you, honestly.. Jagex may "pretend' they've got all these great detection systems in place but in reality they don't.

Think about it, Nexus could never do the Prison Pete activity - but yet nobody was ever flagged or banned for this. Nor did Jagex ever increase the chance of getting this particular activity.

Besides, I get failed randoms every day with Simba, on multiple accounts and the scripts I'm using are very bot-like.. but yet it's 2months in and not a single ban? It's obvious the only detection system they have is player reports.

The real advantage of SuicideRandoms is not that you won't be flagged, it's that Simba (and all the talented programmers) will have triumphed over every obstacle Jagex put in the way.. we can bot for long periods again. Combined with CrashSmart it will be a truly great achievement! :)

I believe it does flag a player.. if jagex really wanted randoms to NOT be done.. they'd remove them.. they aren't there just for xp you know.. they give so little xp that they expect you to do them rather than wait a whole 15 minutes to get out..

Honestly though.. what player in their right mind would actually wait 15 minutes to get out of prison pete.. By the time you guys actually start using this method, the update after that will be one that flags users who don't do them..

Well you're wrong.. randoms are there to as a puzzle break from in-game activity and a reward to players.. If you do it successfully you get a prize, if you can't do it then you can leave. Jagex don't care if you don't complete randoms, they don't expect everybody to do them.

I'm 100% certain they don't flag you, the evidence is right infront of you - we'd all be banned if this was the case - 'cause Simba fails randoms every day.. so please for the love of God stop saying it flags when it obviously doesn't.

I actually thought of this a while ago when using Flights fishing scripts, it would get a random fail then just use the games amulet already equipped to tele back to the location it was at prior to random.

The only major flaw I see here is being flagged, then Jagex will watch your account and look for flaws in the scripts design etc. Eventually resulting in ban.

This may be a "built in option" but I am guessing maybe .5% of the runescape community actually uses this option over actually solving the random and getting the prize. (When they see a massive jump in users using it they will catch wind)

Not a bad idea. Certainly wouldn't hurt to have the option.

I implemented a "guessbox" function, when they updated the Box. It failed 66%…. but worked 33%!

Guessing you have evidence right? I hope you know that no one here knows how jagex bans.. we can only assume based on how many of us has gotten banned before..

So for the love of God.. stop saying you have evidence.. you don't. If I remember correctly, randoms were there in the past to break macros.. and they failed at that because we just ran north or south or wherever.. There's absolutely no way to tell how jagex bans.. your opinion is as good as mine.

You can't be 100% certain when you have no access to source code.

Random Events in RuneScape are described by Jagex as being "the occasional strange event happening near you". Random Events are the successors to the fatigue feature from RuneScape Classic; a system designed to hinder players using macros.

-That is all we know, that they we're implemented to hinder players using macros.

-It's very simple for Jagex to use this system as a way to flag players, whether or not it's already in effect is unknown to us.

-Does Jagex have the resources to follow up on every failed random? Most likely not, consecutively failing randoms? More of a chance, still not very probable with the current population.

What's my take on all this?

Give it a shot, don't release these methods publicly as it will create a pattern.

Harry, I think I'll try to implement this into the new system. Demise already did this for Mime (as the actual solver isn't finished yet). Writing the "suicide" code should be easy enough, and I would appreciate if someone else could do it, then post the code. I'll be spending my time getting the actual solvers ready.

Would be a good solution for the problems we are having with randoms.
But there are certain randoms that would call players attention. Legit Players would start talking with ya. No response would be a report, definitely.
So there are pros and cons, if SuicideRandoms are to exist.

Im pretty sure this will make you even more of an 'suspicious' player to jagex. As they are now many of the randoms arnt that hard or long for any legit player, and i think a few legit players actual use this as been randomly tele'd and also not the rewards make it even worse an option then doing the random.
