How would I use DTM's to find out which area I am in, for example the Al-Kharid bank. I have tried using DTM's but it just can't seem to recognize it. I have a slight feeling that I am using DTM's wrongly though.

Making DTMs for minimap is VERY EXTREMELYdifferent than making DTMs for items.
Takes a bit of practice, tweaking, and expeiance to do it.
Just trying using minimap symbols, or little bitmaps of some kind of unique thing on the minimap.

Advancing from this… how would I then get the sub-point locations from the DTM when it is located?

Main point, where you want to be/click.
Sub points should be things like ladder, door, wall colors.
Tolerance and area tolerance will also be needed.
You should make it a ddtm too and have the colors of each point be autcolorwd by ACA (auto color aid)

Those are the co-ordinates that if you did FindDTM, it would return those points (they are made up points). But as you can see the main point returned is different depending on the camera angle. I would like to be able to find the point on screen for the subpoints of the DTM.

Are those NPC dots you picked always there, or do they move?
Also, try just finding the bank symbol and clicking it?
OR
Make a DTM of just the string to bankers (they never move) and then just +/- x or y coordinates as necessary to click in the right spot.

Your second suggestion is what you're doing. I thought I had finally got it working by finding that main point then adding 20 pixels to the X co-ord. But that only works if you are facing North. It is suitable but as soon as the camera angle is changed then it won't work.

Edit: do you think I should do a little math thing where I get the compass angle and then dependant on that number it will add a certain amount of pixels to the main point?

Edit2: Could I potentially use TPA for this?

Just make the compass north all the time then, no big deal.
Also look up FindDTMRotated (since north isn't always perfectly north)
