DDTM question & Walking Question

Just wondering… DDTM isn't reliable for walking is it?

like I made so many tested DDTMS and ran them for hours to get it finally done, couple hours or a day later all of them are total crap. :(

was wondering what is the reason and is there any way i can fix this?

what is a good method for walking and that is reliable and won't die on me the following day :)?

Try using dynamic dtm's and make autocolor functions for stuff.

DDTM can be reliable IMO.
Gotta ACA the color, and have some nice area tolerance too.

He IS talking about Dynamic. D(ynamic)DTM

Lol yes talking about that, although so your saying what I got to do is make a Auto-color Function for each DDTM?… hmm interesting

Thanks for Link, helps a tad, although do you know any good tuts out there how to add ACA to DDTM?

You know how to use aca?
One of the tabs gives you function AutoColor:Integer;
which literally spits out integer of color it colored.
So on your ddtm make the points color thr autocolor!
Get me?

Here is link for aca: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26944&highlight=autocolor

It's an useful tool but doesn't always produce very reliable autocolor functions. Anyway it's great for optimizing your colors so you can use lowest possible tolerances.

Sorry, I originally thought you were using regular DTM's. But yeh what I mean is that you have a Subpoint color set as FindTreeColor; or something and you just declare the DTM each time before you find it.

Yeah I understand yall, Also I have tried using the ACA but for some odd reason it just can't find the autocolor (that what the debug states) :(

Sigh I guess i'll have to stick to SPS, which isn't quite accurate, where can I find a good map for it?

Mind showing for what do you need them? Because i tested my 1-2 years old DDTMs (Soul wars) yesterday, and they still worked with enough tolerance…

okay, let me edit and upload the picture, it'll take 3 mins.

edit:

the red dots are the DDTMs that I do need.

I have gotten them to work all 3 spots, the one on the Oak was based on the small image of the tree on the minimap, and the rest was the road & Dirt.

Just did, and no luck.
Idk why, like les' say if I grab the new Minimap and make all 3 DDTMS for the spots, they will all work until couple hours or a day.

Try to change the tolerance to 12-15. Also try it with my replacement.

I know:redface:, i just wanted to say that use the DDTMs that i've showed to you and try it with 15 tolerance :p.

Oki :) ,
and the results for the Oak spot, was good, it actually came near the Oak (although close to the wall, but still Oak is viewable).

Result for SpotCLight , nothing much, no movement.

Result for WalkOut, took me north instead and near the Castle ( guessing tolerance just was too much for it to handle lol ).

Result for WalkOut, took me north instead and near the Castle ( guessing tolerance just was too much for it to handle lol ).

Well, i also changed the AreaSize on your DDTM, try slowly to lower them(tolerance also) down from time to time, till you make it to perfection :). Because your AreaSize was at 1, it just looked for the color at one single pixel, that's why it didn't work probably, with 5 it searches in a small box area, 8 might be a little bit high, but try it with 5, then if it works but still messes up a little bit, try to change the tolerance :).

Got it!
i messed with it and went down to 1-2 and got the closest to the spot i wanted it to, but would this stay like this or everyday i have to mess with it , otherwise it would be a waste to release to Public :(

Got 2 Spots down, but Spot C won't get to it's spot, i most likely have to remake it? or I shall use SPS or RRW. and rest DDTM.

Try Radial or just try SPS, and make the DDTM as a failsafe, you need failsafes at color walking :p. Try to Re-Make the DDTM, and remember to increase the AreaSize and Tolerance :). Also what i would recommend is First try find the Best color with ACA2, Re-load RS (or Change world(not sure about this)), then get the color road with ACA2(a few times), Get the best color for it.

PERFECTION :p.
