Simba Portable installer.

Hi SRL community,

I am blown away by how the community here is thriving like crazy! While scar is now a wasteland, I really want to participate in trying out the Simba program but I am sadly not admin of my computer. Scar has a portable installer and I was just wondering if that could be possible for Simba also.

If you search for a thread made by Mopar, he has links to his website where he hosts builds so you don't have to install. Try that, they come as. Tar.gz iirc

Honestly, Simba is already portable. There are no connections to the registry, nor are there to the application data directory. It saves its settings to the same directory as the executable in settings.xml. The only benefit of the installer is that it automatically creates shortcuts, but that's about it..

So the the original poster, you should be able to install Simba no problems as usual, just change the installation directory to something other than Program Files, a directory which you have write access to. :)

If the Simba installer does not give you the option to not create Start Menu shortcuts for all users (which it should!), then click here to download an already made portable version of Simba. :)
