A lot of pastebin type of sites are protesting against this, I can't see why. I for one would love to be spoon feed information which the goverment deem 'suitable'.

On a more serious note, it is a shame Gaddafi isn't able to save us from the america goverment whom are suppressing their people.

When does suppressing become represing in this case??

Well the problem is the bill is backed by corporations with lobbying money :S…but a lot of people have been (seemingly) seriously protesting it, not sure if it will do any good? If anyone has an online petition or something we could sign, I would for sure be down.

Google, Facebook and Twitter are also quite large corporations with a hell of a lot of money who oppose this bill.

True, however I haven't seen anything done by them to alert the public about this bill.

They don't want to be seen "supporting" piracy. That's how the media would spin it off.

If it does, there'll be a new form of Internet.

Not really. You can just buy an off-shore VPS and do your downloadling/viewing/etc. on websites that have off-shore hosts with the VPS.
In theory, anyway. It's what I'll be doing for one of the websites that I am a member of for pirated things.

I think what they will be doing is totally blacklisting the DNS name, so anything hosted in the USA that is blacklisted wont be able to communicate to anyone around the world.

Kind of like Korea has done, right?

The bill is terrible. It's advocated intention is to stop piracy, but pirates are usually fairly tech savvy people, and it isn't hard to get around this type of block. It would only affect the masses. It shouldn't pass because, moral considerations aside, it wouldn't work.
The ship isn't going down that easy.

Did you know that the people that are supporting the bill are actually the people promoting the piracy sites? LOL!
