I, as many of the people who have joined recently, am a ex RSBuddy/Nexus user. I was the type of user that had one account, and mostly botted skills on it, instead of botting money. I was extremely worried about the goldfarming crisis that was occurring in the Runescape/botting communities, and I tried to make the problem aware to many people so maybe they would hopefully realize what they were doing to themselves, which was basically screwing themselves over. Now, I could go into how they were screwing themselves over, but the last time I did that I ended up writing a huge ass essay on RSBuddy that was probably longer than some of my school essays :P Jacmob, who either realized this problem, or was lured by jagex (or both), did the smart thing and transformed RSB into a fan site! Things were simply getting out of hand there with the goldfarming. And don't even get me started how bad they were at Nexus.
So what I've noticed lately is some RSBuddy/Nexus mentality here in script requests - the want for scripts that are basically "goldfarming" scripts, which perform tedious tasks in order to gain millions of gp's per hour. For example, the air or script mentioned below, and somebody also mentioned converting pak yaks pouches into scrolls, both which make 1m + per hour easily.
Even with Nexus, RSBuddy, PowerBot (<– ew), RID, and SRL all functioning, botting wouldn't be a problem… if there weren't scripts that produced mass amounts of money through tedious money making methods! If all that was botted was skills, then they never would have been AS BAD of a problem.
I believe this sites motto is something along the lines of "we aim to blend in". If scripts that make rsgp will be made, it will attract goldfarmers, and gf blending in.
Now the whole SRL and the SSRL ( I believe its called) system is GREAT in my opinion, as it allows people with intellect, and not money, to advantages in society. I think this is how the entire world should be, as we all know, it is run more on money than it is on intellect. I have no experience in scripting, and this system here has encouraged me to learn!
So yea, I really hope all those scripts that make a lot of runescape money go in one of the SRL or SSRL categories, making them available to the public would just be horrific.
Why did I post this?
"Script Requests All your script requests/ideas/brainwaves in here."
this was a brainwave/ idea of mine. To not encourage high money making scripts to be made available to the public. yeppp.
