Vista blows.

It doesn't work already?

If not, it will be Freddy's lowest priority OS to support, because the actual OS hogs so much resources, you will have less for RS, SCAR, VMs.

Freddy correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm it doesn't work for Vista. Heh, that sucks dude. Vista does blow! :)

On XP you can right click on a file/shortcut, click on properties, and then click on Compatibility. You should now see, "Run this program in compatibility mode for". And now you can select the Operating System.

If it's the same for Vista, then try to emulate it under Windows XP. It should work. :)

It's the gayest OS MS has come out with yet… (except 99). I've played with it as BestBuy. It sucks big hairy dick.

…Scar worked fine on both Beta 2 of Vista and RC1; You may have to play with the compatibility settings a bit though

Man.. I'ld rather code SCAR with Linux/Mac compatibility than Vista ;) Vista is just a huuuuuge pile of crap with a cherry on top. Basicly Microsofts new slogan is: If you can't do it yourself, then don't! STEAL IT!… But then again that's what it has been since the first Windows OS

Is there a Linux compatible version of SCAR being developed…?

I dont really agree with you on that one. Sure they stole a lot but just think about what … well, nearly EVERY other OS stole, most of it comes from Windows, the entire idea of folders, windows, etc, all Microsoft, so if Microsoft steals an idea now and then i can forgive them. To be honest Mac is (from what i've seen, which isnt much) the most creative. They also tried to steal as less as possible.

I had this problem on my vista computer. Depending on the version of vista that you install there can be large issues with compatibility. On many computers setting compatibility to Windows 98 works but not on all. If it dosen't work then there is another way but it can be a bit of trouble sense you have to do it all every time you start scar. Below are instructions for both methods:

Method 1 - Simple:

Go to your scar root and right click the file scar.exe then click properties. Next select the compatibility tab. In compatibility select Windows 98/ME from the drop down box. Click apply then Ok. If that dosen't solve your problem then follow method 2.

Method 2 - Harder:

Ok start vista in MS-Dos safe mode. Scar should open and run successfully. However safe mode is not designed to run scar so we need to make it run in normal mode. In the command line create a bat file that will copy scar into the startup directory. Next place the bat file in the startup directory. Next restart your computer but go to regualr safe-mode. This time do all of method 1. Now restart your computer and load up in normal mode. Everytime you log on Scar will pop up. This is the only scar window that you will be able to run. If you try to open another one then both programs will not respond. It sucks but make do with that single scar window or make due with none.

I hope this helps.

Sorry for double post but i thought i should mention that Vista is HORRIBLE. The only wosre OS is Windows ME but that was a joke of an OS. If anyone is thinking of buying vista then either rethink it or buy the advanced version but that costs approx $600 Can so i say stick with XP.
