That's a pretty family member you got there… It'd be a ssssssshame if something happened to 'er.

Nice case, though. May I ask what it is?

Damn what's all the parts/specs you are getting?
Is that water cooling? Whats the big thing in the back the pipes are coming from?
How much did it cost.

Con FREAKING congratulations. I built my first in January so damn FUN!
Best feeling ever, better than sex.

Also:This is not a baby.

E: 4 Channel DDR3 is that new or wat?

4 PC's
imac (yes I built)

macbook, some crappy del laptop

I want to say around $1,500 USD total, but maybe a bit more

yes it's water cooling, what "bing" thing do you mean in the back? the part sticking out? that's my radiator for dissipating the heat

sec will link all my pieces from newegg

and yea 4 channel is new to sandybridge-E only, EXTREMELY fast!

What exactly does Quad Channel mean?
How's it better than other channels.
Damn, expensive ass motherboard! You went all out on this built, super future proof!!

lol yea you're right, only a few minor differences

I use the one I got for the two top 200mm fans, they exhaust out the front panel and blast the res / pump with air to keep it cooler than it normally would be since that's a strong place for heat to gather… not that I really care since my house is like 50 degrees F

yea I actually went a little under on the motherboard, the other 2011 sockets are ridiculous with 4 channels but two slots per channel (8 slots total.. way too much.. since this isn't a server lol..)

sandy bridge 2 channel is extremely fast, but it is 2 channel, so doubling the channel you basically double the maximum bandwidth

top one is the "best" Sandy bridge-E that is out, the one I'm getting barely loses any power and still has the same memory bandwidth capabilities

the most impressive thing is sandy bridge, though, because the gulftown CPU is still $1000 and it has triple channel where-as sandy bridge has only dual channel but as you can see, it matches up to that triple

There both nice tho, I think i'd get the slick black one tho. The 800D has shelfs to separate the mb, hdd, and power supply.

Holy Jesus why is the top one so much better?!
And damn Intel pwns AMD :/ I have AMD because it's cheaper lol.

I've always been an AMD guy, but damn I guess intel just flat out beats AMD left and Right D:

yea that one is way too nice for me, I only got the one I got because of black friday sales, every item I got (except motherboard and cpu) were huge discounts over the black november sales newegg holds lol

paid $90 for the case, now it's like $130.. it's sad pieces of metal are so expensive =[

cheaper? lol doesn't even explain it…. AMD is about 1/10 to 1/20 of Intels prices…

not too much in the server world, I mean price wise.. you can get some ridiculous setups from AMD that are 1/4th the price and 2 times the power

unfortunately in the desktop world programs are written pretty badly and only operate on single threads.. still… after a decade of 64bit OS's… a lot of stuff don't even support the 64bit, so multithreading is going to take a long time to take over..

server programs take advantage of as many threads as you throw at them, I have my AMD board and two quad cores for my server and it's nice having the 8 cores, there's a board that supports FOUR processors, with AMD's new 16core bulldozer server cpu coming out that is 64 CORES!! and they have 4 channel memory each, so that's 16 channels of memory bandwidth LOL.. with like 512GB maximum, the world is getting crazy!!!

I was close to going amd but when I saw their new chipset wasn't going to support the pcie 3.0 I backed off and went intel… but I'll definitely be getting the AMD graphics since they're 3.0, not that they saturate the 2.0 bus, just the gpu's themselves are really nice

but yea I do like both a lot, without AMD intels prices would be a minimum of double what they are now.. which is why for my brothers computer, my moms and especially when I am asked to build 10+ computers for a company, I roll with AMD

12 threads, 6 cores

I do a lot of virtualization, rendering etc so it'll get used.. definitely wouldn't buy this if all I did was games lol

I'm sure it'll run simba well :f:
